An EES on difficult? A 15 that must be PFCd? What insanity is this? Who is actually going to pass that?

With a 15 difficult chart, it sounds like Over The Period is going to be the new Valkyrie dimension on higher difficulties once it's unlocked.

"Here We Go" FAILED

Hilarious how the "Here We Go" is still overlapping the "FAILED" message at the end.

In the video Player 2 has Cut1 On and Jumps Off during Max. (period), but when Over The "Period" shows up Cut is Off again. Seems to be a repeat of what happened with Valkryie dimension's EES where all mods that remove steps are disallowed.

...Why...

Also the players are going to have to be fast on adjusting that speed mod at the beginning unless they want to try to PFC something on 1x. At least it wasn't like DDR X(1) where you couldn't adjust the speed mod like that and there was a nonstop course that started with bag and ended with Max 300.

Max. (period)'s Extra Stage is no longer forced on Reverse, and I assume no speed mods are forced on either. Why were the first two videos in Reverse then?

Interesting that the EES cutscene for Phase 2 is kind of the reverse of the one in Phase 1. Maybe the song's title represents Rinon "ascending" the darkness, but that doing so requires a level of absolute perfection? /symbolism

And looks like this is a fusion of all the hardest-to-get Encore Extra Stages of all time. Like DDR X's (Maxx Unlimited X-Special -> Kakumei X-Special), you have to AA an 18 to even get a chance to see the EES. Like Love is the Power -Re:born-, you have to PFC the EES to pass it. Like Valkyrie dimension, you have to AA five other Extra Stages first, every time, to access the Extra Stage that unlocks the Encore Stage. Then to top it all off, this is all in Phase 2, the unlocking of which requires clearing Phase 1, which requires another Valkyrie dimension-esque format with mods on the EES to boot. At least Egoism 440's gimmicks are pretty well-known now, and Max. (period)'s EES has been successfully 'cheated' through at least once (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN34bUromco).

...This is going to take a while. Wonder if someone will even pass it before it's unlocked (I think with both Pluto Relinquish EES and Valkyrie dimension EES only one person ever did, and as far as I know no one passed Paranoia Revolution on 1x Flat before its conditions were made less strict, making it technically the first song to have never been passed in its first unlockable state).

We're not going to do much for DDR anymore after this so here's something to keep you busy.

I've seen strict conditions for EES but this is just silly.

It would be fine if it didn't take away the gems before playing the song. As it is, you need to play all the RDI songs and MAX. over and over and over and over until you pass OT"P" like a month later.

This is the second time one has to PFC a song on Encore Extra Stage to clear it, and it's loads harder to do than Love Is The Power -Reborn-...

And now that it's ~12-1am in most of Asia and noon here, time to wait several hours for any more news...

I wouldn't expect any more news of this for a while unless Konami loosens the unlock conditions.

I guess there's a fine line between something that the top players will have done in a day, and something that will take weeks. But, it's not the first time there's been a ridiculous challenge in a DDR game that may or may never be completed. I'm not sure if BOSS RUSH -Ver. SN2- was ever passed, and as mentioned previously, Pluto Relinquish, Valkyrie Dimension, and PARANOiA Revolution were passed only by very few, if at all, in the forms that allowed them to initially be played.

This though, is probably one of the hardest. The barrier just to get to Over The "Period" is extremely high. I have no problem with that though, it will all eventually be unlocked and it's fun to watch the "race" to get further.

geez I completely scrolled past the first Rinon clip 'cause I didn't notice the title when someone posted Max. some pages ago and now I am caught up and psyched.

The first clip had me like "wtf do you mean she can transform into Dark Rinon that completely goes against the goal to defeat her" but now the players have reversed it...? Yay more headcanons to come up with pertaining to who Rinon and Dark Rinon actually are... assuming they don't set anything in writing or more lovely videos, of course.

... this and what everyone else has already said about new hard things to unlock. I honestly like the unlocks being stupidly hard and it makes the people who complete it almost like DDR-heroes. I'm in the "fsh I'll never play this game anyway so it really doesn't matter that I can't pass it" boat. But if they ever force an MFC down our throats in an arcade unlock that's pretty much when I'll flip a table.

^Better than DDR X2 CS which required you to get FIVE MFCs to unlock something. Sure you could just play on , and I think Cut was also allowed, but it was still stupidly annoying, grindy, and difficult.

...and then after you unlock whatever it was, the next thing on the list promptly punches you in the face and tells you that you need to get FIFTEEN MFCs to unlock it.

The best part? It wasn't even anything meaningful to unlock. It was just a panel of a picture.

I don't think you need to play all 5 songs to gain access again... though again, I'm not quite sure what purpose does the central rainbow gem serve (which is obtained when you AA MAX. (period) CSP in phase 2, AA EGOISM 440 is phase 1)
