So it appears that Disney is not targeting 5 year old girls this time, rather trying to win over the teen/twenty-something gamer crowd. Interesting...so there may be hope left for Disney after all, as they've been "meh" as of late (outside of Pixar that is). *looks at Mars needs Moms and John Carter*
IMO, Disney needs some new epic IP's or franchises like what they did with Aladdin and The Lion King in the '90's. It was nice to see Bowser, Zangief, and Dr. Eggman all in the same scene.

I know right? I think the last few Disney animated movies that came out that I liked were Meet the Robinsons and Tangled. And is it odd that I find Wreck-it Ralph to look WAY better than Brave? Usually it's the opposite and I like the Pixar movies better, but Brave didn't look that good IMO after seeing the previews.(I still have yet to see it though)Post #23 · Posted at 2012-10-12 08:46:53am 11.5 years ago

Seeing it, but not just to hear Yuni say one line. It genuinely looks like an entertaining movie to me.
Also, I've been out of the Street Fighter scene for a while, but since when is Zangief considered a villain? I thought he just went to the Street Fighter tournaments to wrestle bears.
That's what the Street Fighter champions get when they win, right? Bears?

I know a lot of the Sonic fans are gonna see it cause Sonic is in it & has a speaking line. I mean he's on front of one of the posters for it
Honestly though, I wanna see it cause it looks like a really good movie It's like Who Framed Roger Rabbit of video games

Not only Sonic, but Dr. Eggman/Robotnik as well. Also Sonic The Fighters arcade machine was spotted in this trailer
Is it just me or does Sugar Rush feels like a total rip-off of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing? Then again it might with Ralph being a DLC Character (I think)

Probably. But the cab design is a total rip-off of Mario Kart GP. Turns out not every company wanted to give them their characters.Although considering how bloody huge Mario's been, I can't say I'm surprised.

There was an interview wit a question about how they put people Wreck-it-Ralph and why Mario wasn't in it.

Whether these are reasons or excuses is up for debate, but it's kind of interesting. And sad... Mario or Yoshi would've been really cute.
Disney, please announce Yuni's voice actress so Wikipedia can stop calling her "Dancer."

yep wikipedia is open source that anyone can edit. So feel free to fix that PaperSak.
On Topic: Well that sucks that they couldn't find a good use for Mario, though I think they could have him wave the race flags in Sugar Rush (seeing that he was once a Boxing Ref and a Tennis Judge, so why not).
I didn't know that the hedgehog was planned for something else that was then reanimated into the PSA scene. Thanks for sharing that article.

I'm really glad this trailer referenced DDR! Hopefully that'll remind people of the game and play it! Keep the game alive!

I hope this will bring back into the US the culture of arcades in general, not just DDR. It seems to me that they are trying to appeal towards both kids who grew up during the rise of console gaming and the older gamers who grew up in the arcades.
I will probably be seeing this movie regardless; it's been a long time since I have actually seen a movie in a movie theater.

I'm going to see this not only because of the video game characters or just because it's from Disney, it's because I haven't seen a single film in theaters for like how many months now (last film I watched was Brave and I admit it was really good film). Because it's about an arcade video game character, of course the setting takes place in various (existing and non-existing) arcade games. That's why most of the cameos in the film are arcade game characters from well-known arcade games.
Just thinking of Skrillex in the film kinda reminds me of Daft Punk in Tron: Legacy. Both musicians makes cameos while providing the soundtrack for their respective films.

So, yeah, I went to the premier. The movie was interesting and very entertaining, DDR X2 or not.

I would give it a 9 out of 10. I loved it. And I laugh at those who swore that the DDR X2 cameo would not appear in the actual movie.

I went and saw it on Thursday (it premiered earlier here). It was amazing, a solid 9 from me; I loved how the movie wasn't bogged down by all the video game references and kept the plot and characterization going. Also, Ralph is the cutest, and Felix's accent is adorable.
(it's just me, but I would have told Ralph that even video game villains have a strong fanbase--just look at Mario or Zelda.)
