What do you think are the best and worst DDR Charts?

IMO, the best DDR chart is Tomorrow Heavy. Even though the song is repetitive, the chart isn't. It switches patterns every few measures and unlike some songs, the patterns actually make sense. Other notable ones are Heaven Is A '57 Metallic Gray Heavy, Polovstian Dances and Chorus Heavy, Burning the Floor Heavy, Quickening Heavy and Kind Lady Heavy.

On the other hand, the worst chart is, hands down, Brilliant 2U Heavy. Considering the song is awesome, it deserves an awesome chart. The Heavy Chart is a major letdown, with sloppy steps (the eighth note jumps), steps that make no sense at all (those friggin' sixteenths), and steps that are way to easy (everything else). Thank god it has an Oni. Other songs I hate are Love This Feelin' Heavy, Daikenkai Heavy and Challenge, 5.1.1 Heavy, More Deep Heavy, and Centerfold Heavy.

paranoia and ddr oni make PERFECT sense if you dont suck at the game. to say ddr oni doesnt make sense, and not list brilliant 2 u orchestra groove hvy, dead end, afronova, eotc, am-3p, celebrate nite, b4u, and ddr heavy as songs that make no sense is also dumb, as those charts make up ddr oni.

brilliant 2 u hvy also makes sense, listen to the song while you play, you'll hear the 16th pattern. it must make some sense, it was only my 6th AAA.

and whats with all the hate for ska ska no. 3? i love that chart.

I like playing charts that are unpleasant and annoying, except for Love This Feelin' and Celebrate Nite (Euro Trance). This means I enjoy charts like Trip Machine Climax, Electro Tuned, Flow (True Style), PSMO, Trip Machine (I ALTERNATE EVERY STEP ON TRIP MACHINE. DO YOU?), L'amour et la liberte, and Make a Difference.

I get bored by lackluster charts with none of the old-school challenge, i.e. No13, Tomorrow, and Polovetsian Dances and Chorus.

DDR Oni is made up of random stepchart patterns from other songs. And I din't say Paranoia wasn't a good chart, I just said it had random patterns.

I hate Brilliant 2U Heavy beacuse it's too easy and had awkward patters (the bridge should NOT be in a 6-foot song).

And Ska Ska No. 3 is painful.

random my ass, i just told you what charts make it up. its a tribute song of sorts, taking from some of the most popular songs in the series. the steps make perfect sense. its mostly 8th runs untill the b4u part, and thats where ddr heavy has gallops anyway, and they work. the dynamite rave part also fits this song better than dynamite rave IMO.

if you dont like the chart fine, but everything about it makes sense.

Look, I wasn't trying to start an argument about this. I was just giving an opinion. Blushing

1st Post updated with new songs, I didn't like the original list much anyways.
-Replaced No. 13 with Heaven is A '57 Mettalic Gray
-Replaced Ska Ska No. 3 and Boom Boom Dollar (K.O.G. G3 Mix) with Daikenkai and Love This Feelin'
-Took out all mention of Paranoia and DDR Oni being random.;)

Is it just me, or is the song incredibly offsync?

I don't know, I haven't been able to play it long enough to tell. Evil

When I play the song, I get GOODs and GREATs all over the place, even though I know I should be able to do better. Either the song is offsync or the song itself gets me offbeat. It doesn't help that the steps are sloppy as hell.

Flow’s chart is tradable. Hey, lets just put random jumps in gallops in a good song.Tongue

I like the TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX chart personally. Smile

love this feelin is kind of like xanadu, the steps actually sound pretty cool if you can do them, but dont try and follow the music.

i dont like what i've seen of trip machine phoenix, it tries too hard. the first 30 seconds looked promising, but when i finally saw the full video i was dissapointed. the crossovers and spins are too much for the rhythms it tries to follow.

and flow ~true style~ oni is perfect for that song, i love it.

i nominate janejana doubles for one of the best charts ever written. agree/disagree?

The name of the song is "TRIP MACHINE." It's supposed to have crossovers and spins. And I'm sick of the players who can't alternate feet on a Trip Machine or a PARANOiA.

They were generous with TRIP MACHINE survivor. There were almost no crossover chains that the original Trip Machines had.

i've FCed trip five, i think i know how to play the trip machines. excluding phoenix, even without double stepping they all make sense. maybe i need to play TMP with full quality audio before deciding this, but judging from the simfile and video's i dont like it.

and "trip machine" =/= spins.

just because they are in the original doesnt mean all should have them. jungle mix, climax, and survivor lack spins.

the spins in the original and luv mix win. the spins in phoenix lose.

Hey, Pheonix looked fun Big Grin.

I usually double-step and not spin on anything that requires you to do more than a 90 degree turn. I hate excessive spins/double-stepping, but I don't mind Trip Machine's chart. That's because the Trip Machines (with the exception of the original and the end of Luv Mix) have more crossovers than spins. If you want excessive spinning, play Daikenkai.

Daikenkai! Damn you Daikenkai!! I just hate the chart for it on Oni Doubles. I fell that they decided to add a jump here and there near the end just to make it harder. And I agree with JaneJana doubles Heavy being one of the best step charts ever.

For me, the best stepchart is Holic on Heavy Doubles. I think it's a lot of fun to do.

As for the worst, CENTAUR is pretty bad for Heavy. The song isn't awful, but I don't know what the stepchart creater was thinking. Same with the original Heavy steps for INFINITE PRAYER.

The 1st part of FmaxX heavy is also terrible, but the last 30 seconds of the song is pretty good.
