I'm not going to review the charts like I normally do with a score and a complete nitpicky hoedown of gripes and criticisms. At this point in the tournament, that would just be overly cumbersome and wouldn't benefit as much or as many as it does in the beginning of a tournament. This is mainly because all of my reviews boil down to one all-encompassing, burning question.
Is it fun.
Yes, it's about flow. Yes, it's about technicalities. Yes, it's about length and all that sort of thing. And yes, it's even about foreground effects. Everything has to boil down to the enjoyment I receive when I play the chart, not if it's well put together. There's a reason why people don't generally live in basilicas or palaces.
And, honestly, I just feel like A Riot of Cherry Blossoms worked better. I'm a sucker for DDR-styled charts so I didn't really care for the Expert chart too much, but the Hard one showed enough restraint such that it didn't become a cluster of indecipherable sixteenths, but not enough so it would dumb itself down to a six or something. Yes, there were problems with it, but every simfile has problems. That isn't to say that Rough Storm of Quicksand was bad--the foreground effects were phenomenal, and a lot of the parts where the steps were technically constructed worked well and weren't contrived--it's just that, again, I just had more fun playing A Riot of Cherry Blossoms.
Good job, both of you. Even if one of you has to win, you both deserved the spots you got.

I really didn't even wanna vote in any rounds as I didn't feel as if I had the right as I have yet to even upload a simfile, but its the final round so i'll just throw my vote. Both charts are fun, great & enjoyable in their own ways. A Riot of Cherry Blossoms just was a bit more fun in my opinion, but Taro your effects are phenomenal and the chart was amazing nonetheless.

haha, I won? Good game, TaroNuke; honestly, I liked your sim/chart a whole lot more than I liked mine, and you totally should have had more votes. Just goes to show that music choice is still far too important to Z-I-v
