"AKA Azaliate"
Thanks.
Flash Man is now in the Simfile section for anyone interested.

I just wouldn't be happy without a 12/8 song in here, so I'm taking Blaster Master-Area 2 for my next song.

I also liked what I heard with Ninja Gaiden II Act 2-2 so I'm picking that one up.

Downloaded what's up so far. My thoughts...

Battle 1: Steps don't quite seem to go to anything...and this is not CHAOS, what the hell are stops doing in here?

Battle Scene: Doesn't feel terribly synced, but that mi--OHFUCKYOUHANDS

Crashboys: No really, it's called Crash'N the Boys.
Expert:Not a big fan of the semi-abundant double-steps, but I do like the rhythm and sequencing the steps had.
Oni: Oh wow, pretty fun stuff. The mines kind of surprised me, but it seems a little out of place that there's only one set floating out in limbo during the whole chart. Other than that, good shit.

Hammer Time: Uh...repetitive. It was fun at first, but once you realize it's the same four seconds of music being repeated, it gets to the point where I kind of wanted it to hurry up and end.

Flash Man: Great steps, but am I the only one who thinks it feels out of sync? If it (or my SM's timing) were tweaked, this could easily be one of my favorites.

Gyruss Level 1:
Expert: Nice. I like how placement of the mines are tricky, without being completely dickish. Some of those longer 16th runs nearly ate me alive, though. I could probably see myself playing this at the arcade.
Oni: Can't say I'm a terrible fan of 16th thickets this large, especially with jumps thrown in. I think the purpose of this chart was lost on me.

Megaman 2 Intro:
Expert: It was okay...I can't think of anything that particularly stood out about this one, but it wasn't necessarily bad, either.
Oni: I saw the first seven seconds and said "Fuck it".

Nightmare Wizard: Yes, I like. I would totally play this at an arcade.

Ninja Gaiden II Act 2, Stage 2: I like the song, but...the steps seem kind of...well...they go from calm 8th streams to middle-of-nowhere jumps to OHGODVOLTAGE. I guess the song kind of coerces the steps into doing stuff like that, but...

Rainbow Resort: Being a fan of Kirby's Adventure, I had high expectations for this one. They were met. Good show, sir.

SDB Iceland: Um...arrow spray. I guess people are into that, but not so much me.

SDB USSR: Despite usually not liking long voltage streams like these, I actually kind of like this chart. Oh, but fuck those hands near the beginning.

Tetris Type A: Not bad. Not a terrible fan of how some recurring patterns went from being jumps to gallops despite the fact that the song didn't sound any different.

Don't remember who originally said it, but I'm also noticing a lot of double-stepping happening in a lot of charts...like almost ALL of them. There's a reason that End of the Century tends to be disliked.

Oh hey, Pandy, what are we doing about graphics? Does each person just find whatever they can scrounge up or is someone taking care of all that? I'm talking EVERYTHING, like banners, bgs, cdtitles...

APPEND: Oh shit, I forgot. I also got the S-Ex (HAHA) chart for Bazlisk Mine Field finished. I plan to finish the Singles charts for the other difficulties as well (minus Edit).

http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/viewsimfile.php?simfileid=8573

...CRITIQUE IT GODDAMNIT. I'M COUNTING ON FEEDBACK OR THE NEXT ONE MAY SUCK.

2. Banners and Backgrounds are allowed, but not a must.
Someone can make a CDtitle if they want.

For CDtitles, would it be a CDtitle for the sim author, one for the collab set, or one for the game that song originates from?

Nice review. And that's me who talked about a LOT of double stepping.
You guys are playing this on keyboard for now no ? Are you playing index ?
Cause' i'm suprised that nobody see that some charts has double steps.

I should post screenshoot and explain where they are.

Here's my first part of my review :

Crashboy intro
Nice song :p
Expert(11) : Good rythms, but some moves seems impossible on feet
("double steps/brute force" i don't really know how they call that :p).
Hard(9) : I don't like the steps guns (repeat the same arrow) and brutes forces/double steps
(but some people like, that's just me :p). Some double steps/brute force too, rythm still intresting too.

Battle Scene
Hard (8) The rythm is a bit strange. But i think it's hard to make a simfile with this song.
In my opinion, you should look for an other music.
Or made a something who follow more the music...

Flash Man
Hard (9) The steps follow very well the music, good job.
Only two things in my opinion to change :
- Few steps position (some double steps/brute force)
- It's a 8 not a 9 feet.
With those corection, that's a great file Smile

I will post screenshoot for Crashboy Intro.
EDIT : One exemple on the hard(9) chart :

If guys don't see what i'm talking about now, i don't know what to do...

Oh hey, thanks. I pad checked it but I probably missed a few double steps because I didn't notice them with all those freeze arrows in the song so I'll go back and buff those out.
Also thanks for pointing out the corrections on the difficulty. Figuring out song difficulties is a problem for me. Annoyed

:s It's in sync for me, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

If guys don't see what i'm talking about now, i don't know what to do...

I dont know what bpm this is or what foot you start on but to me that isnt a double step its completely turnable if you dont alternate feet on the Up Up, i can download the pack and check myself because im a self confessed OC about double stepping normally >_>

Edit: ok played it for you just to check, no you are right that file is just full of double stepping, following it naturally i go into the 32nds BACKWARDS on challenge which isnt good no matter how you look at it.

What i forgot to say is : on my screenshoot you start playing on the first arrows that you see (up - up - right - up...) so with feets it's left - left - right - left. (and i don't alternate feets on up - up) ^^.

Glad that you see too that there is problem with some paterns :p

Feedback time! I just tried out some of the charts on Stepmania.

Quote: Pandemonium X

Rainbow Resort / Kirby's Adventure / Pandemonium X DONE
Crashboy intro / Crashboy / Aegis DONE
Tetris Type A / Tetris / Aegis DONE
Gyruss Stage 1 / Gyruss / Aegis DONE
Donkey Kong -Hammer Time / Donkey Kong / Aegis DONE
Battle / Final Fantasy / bmhedgehog DONE
Battle / Final Fantasy II (JP) / bmhedgehog DONE
Super Dodge Ball -Iceland- / Super Dodge Ball / Aegis DONE
Super Dodge Ball -USSR- / Super Dodge Ball / Aegis DONE
Now your dancing with power.

Rainbow Resort feels really good. Definitely suited for the 8. I'll try the doubles chart later.
Crashboy Intro was pretty fun.
I skipped Tetris entirely, because I hate Tetris. (sorry, Aegis!)
Gyruss Stage 1's 11-footer is awesome.
Donkey Kong - Hammer Time: it goes on FOREVER...ergh. I feel like there's no rhyme or reason to it...
Battle (both): awkward. I feel a little AFRONOVA repeat-the-same-sequence-of-steps-over-and-over going on. Plus those stops in Battle 1 really shouldn't be there.
SDB: I failed both these charts, so I dunno how they are Oops

lol
Hammer Time was a joke chart.

About Crashboy Intro.
I'm working on improving that Tongue
I just wanted to show you all what I have so far.

I didn't like Megaman II Intro or Ninja Gaiden II 2-2 ;) Now you know why. xP

@ Flashman: It's a bit off-sync. MM tells me it is 150.05
@ All sims: You all have that "maek last note a freeze arrow to fade the song to end." I don't...particularly like that.
@ Kirby songs- good. Good.
That is all.

@FF stuff: No.

@ Howie's sim: There are some missing notes...

@Crashboy Intro: Hey, they aren't 16th 200 bpm streams. They are 8th note streams. Double stepping here wouldn't KILL anyone. ;)
[/I will fix that Tongue.]

No but if you follow it perfectly on challenge or double step it, even the way i naturally play ill do at least half the turns in a song even if its chock full of double steps and i entered the 32nds (or 16ths at 198) facing backwards from a natural assumption.

Easiest way of checking for double steps, if you do any of the following patterns:

LDR
RDL
ULD
URD
DRU
DLU
LUR
RUL

Or any variety of which where you end up with your right or left foot ending on the opposite arrow (Left foot on right arrow) and you dont undo it, you're gonna be facing backwards.

(Yes there are situations where this doesnt apply, i wrote like 6 pages on it on a guide i made for fun to help new stepfilers out)

Yeah but that still Afronova's speed.
And that's not cool when you do a crossover well and get screwed right after because of the chart.
This remind me a little bit too much a lot of DDR's stepcharts... Sad

I still didn't finish my first chart (the Challenge one). I'm almost half way (30/68 mesures).
I guess i will do only Challenge Single for now.
Single Heavy maybe later if i did enouth well with the Challenge one.
