what are the possibilities/odds of encountering a shiny Pokemon? In all the games I've played, I've never seen a shiny wild Pokemon

I know how that feels, my first Shiny I ever saw was an Espeon used by a trainer in the Trainer Tower in FireRed.

Nope. Aside from the Red Gyarados, the Legendary Dogs of Johto, Shiny Celebi (from AR code) from HG/SS the only shiny I have ever caught out of the entire main series was an Unown J in Diamond.

Does RNGs counts as legits?

I got both of those without trying. I tried to get Litwick for a while, but I gave up after about 500 encounters.

LIKE! I got tons in Pearl using the PokeRadar..but no luck with Black & White..still crossing my fingers everytime I encounter Pokemon (especially in double battles) one of them will become shiny..hehe I dont know, im really hooked for this rare finds..

well, i also have a shiny Cinccino but... it is via AR. so it's not because i'm lucky

it would have been nice if Pokeradar was continued on the 5th generation.. other than shinies.. it could have been a good source of rare Pokemon too..

I haven't checked on this site in a while and saw that they orchestrated the Lance Battle song from Soulsilver. It's enjoyable for the most part. I couldn't recognize it from the beginning though.

I've looted the Giant Chasm and caught Kyurem. I also got the Focus Blast TM I've been training at the Big Stadium and Small Court. I'm gonna make some alterations to my E4 team. The only 2 members who will be staying are Krookodile and Conkeldurr.

on my way to Victory Road had an encounter with Thundurus, accidental KO (didn't realize it was part Flying type so it was weak against Blizzard), good thing i didn't save afterwards, but it ment redo Rt 10. Hopfuly I'll be able to encounter Thundurus again for a capture. has anyone notice that false swipe is now weak?

I believe False Swipe was always weak. 40 damage with a max PP of 40. It's a terrible move on a low level pokemon, but a pokemon at level 70 with False Swipe is more than enough to fill up the pokedex.

I'm not entirely sure if Thundurus reappears after defeating the E4 if you were to kill him off, so I probably would have done the same and soft reset to avoid losing him. Thundurus automatically runs away when you encounter him so use that free turn to False Swipe him or to put him to sleep. I caught him with this method and was able to capture him with a Quick Ball when he was down to 1HP.

Thundurus appears in the southern routes in the morning and appears in the northern routes at night.
