(It's a song depth thread)
Yeah...
I was playing said song one day with earphones on. The music was pretty loud and I was jamming to the music. Then as I was approaching the second bridge, I heard a moan which for some reason threw me for a loop because I could hear squat through the earphones.
At which point, I threw them off and yelled WTF? Who's having sex while I'm playing Pandemonium?!?
Friends loled. I loled.
Then, I was playing Indulgence from the ITG Rebirth pack recently (If you don't know, it's like the precursor/rough draft to Pandy). Got around to the second bridge and guess what I heard?
...
A succession of LOUD orgasmic moans for about 5 seconds. I just stopped dancing and went WTF? I mean these moans were sexier than Sexy Planet's moans. That's when it hit me: that's where the moan from Pandy came from! I listened to Pandy again and right at about 1:20, I heard it again. But I heard something else: Sighing during those whoosh sounds before the bridge. Sexy sighs.
So yeah, moral of the story: Xylophone + Bass + Cymbals + Drums + Sex Sounds = The Ultimate Primal Man Song.
...
Actually, it's if you listen to a song with high quality in a relatively quiet place with earphones on, you'll notice things you'd never hear otherwise because you're so busy dancing to them.
Other songs worth mentioning:
FAXX: A synth-version of an organ playing through the song.
HV:AM: During the bridge, you can hear the synthesizer sound getting higher as it progresses.
FELM: A faint telephone ringing during the long 400 section with the piano. There's also the synthesizer(?) sound which gets deeper as the song goes until the 400 section ends (The opposite of HV:AM). Then you can hear FAXX's famous piano trills during the busy tones.
GAMELAN DE COUPLE: Finger snapping. Like Tomosuke jamming to his own song. (silenttype mentioned this)
If you've already noticed these, that's great. If you didn't, you learn something new everyday.
If you hear anything else in a DDR/ITG song normally unnoticeable while you're dancing, feel free to post them here.

Not DDR/ITG, but still pretty good. In Shonen A, the same electric guitar/synth motif you can hear during AA plays throughout the fast section.
Also, the conga loop on Outer Limits remix is utter sex when listened through headphones with the frequency juuust right.
Also, Hash the Sun has low audio quality. REALLY, REALLY low audio quality.
And HDV has a really nice synth polyrhythm throughout the main 'verse'. In the background, there's 8ths on the synth. In the foreground, there's 12ths.

Ha ha. I noticed that "sex during pandy" thing too.
Another example of this is when you play a song on DDR, then play it on something like IIDX or pop'n. You get to hear all of the keysounds that were normally hidden behind a melody or vocals.
Good examples of this are era -nostalmix- and Mahou no Tobira.

On paranoia respect, the orchestra-like sound that begins at :40 and temporarily stops on the interlude at 1:08 and begins again at 1:21 (as a background sound) until the end of the song is reminiscent of Brilliant2U (Orchestra Groove).
To DJ OMIY: The same could be said of STARS*** (retuned by HAL), but maybe it's just because it's a "DDR Ver." on DDR. Keysounds are heard during the intro and on the interlude (the steps on that part [interlude] are synched correctly with the keysounds on the iidx version when compared). On the DDR ver. guitar riffs (?) cover up the keysounds but are still noticeable if you listen closely.

weird. I feel all woozy now, and maybe just a little concerned considering that I like that song.

Vertex: Handclapping in the middle of the song and an evil laugh after the 60 BPM slowdown.

I've seen this topic when I was at work but was afraid to click on it. when I got home it realized that these "sexy" sounds are in indulgence so maybe there might be something like that in pandemonium.
anyway I read your post and had to laugh a lot. after that I listened to pandemonium and found it in the song too. never realized it when playing the song.
(but I noticed everything in the DDR songs you mentioned.)

Want more on Gamelan? I thought someone would have noticed them after exploiting the finger snapping but oh well...
Along with the finger snapping, try listening for conga drums. The guy is drumming on them in 16th notes if that helps; 5 hits on the left drum, one hit on the right drum, repeat.
I also know a whole bunch of other songs where there's more than just a melody. I'll look into them and post them here when I have the time.

One day I was playing Maximizer Oni (thanks, FelmDemon!), and during the triplet run, believe it or not, but I found moans!

Trim: Someone's playing table tennis in the background. o_O
And as for MAXIMIZER moans, all I have to say is Lol. Maybe that's where Pandemonium and Indulgence got their moans.

Ah, a reason why it's in Mambo a Go-Go then. You can also hear 'em really quietly at the very beginning to Tino's White Horse.
Also, the klaxon in MGS2 mission R is very VIKING-esque, no? You can also hear it in TRIP MACHINE CLIMAX.

More on Gamelan De Couple. Someone's playing the washboard during the second "chorus".
So many parts to this song. That's what makes it awesome and why Kyle Ward had to remix it. Twice.

So that's what it is...I thought it was some heavily distorted guiro or something weird-assed like that.Post #20 · Posted at 2008-10-09 06:41:59am 15.5 years ago

route 80s
I'm sure that those that played it on IIDX have heard it, but for those that haven't:
You know the female vocalist that sings? She also moans throughout the song.
Do it, do it!
