Can't decide which to get

I can't decide which DDR game to get: DDR Max, DDR Max2 or Extreme.
I already have Extreme2, SuperNOVA, SuperNOVA2, and Hottest Party. I'm going to be getting DDR X for Christmas. But in the mean time I need another DDR game! So which one should I get? I like Japanese songs, if that helps.

Max had very few Japanese songs (at least, to my ear it did). I'd say, if you know the song lists of each, and still can't decide, roll a d3. If you don't like the decision the dice makes, roll it again until you do like the decision it makes.
Surprisingly, I've actually had this work for me, it makes me recognize how I actually feel about the different choices.

well I really liked both MAX and MAX2, and I thought EXTREME was one of the dumbest games I have ever played (I only own it for collector reasons, i would never dare play that game again).

I say MAX, I thought the song list was pretty good, but its pretty close, I also like MAX2 alot, as its the first DDR Game I bought.

If you want more DDR songs then crummy licesenes, go with DDRMAX.
If you want songs with Japanese music, go with DDRMAX2 or EXTREME
If you want arcade feeling style game, go with MAX2

IMO I like MAX2 out of the 3

Oh yeah, and I've heard that Extreme doesn't let you deactivate the face buttons on the pad while dancing. So if you can't play with them active in the other games, you probably won't like extreme.

So right now I've ruled out Extreme. It's either gonna be DDR Max or DDR Max2.
But wait, I can only get the USA versions of DDR games. Does that change anything?

I suggest Max 2.

Extreme 2 has a lot of Japanese songs like Daikenkai, Miracle Moon, Dive, and Sakura.

Between Max and Max 2...They both have the same amount of Japanese songs, I believe. Max 2 has more songs and better licenses, but Max has some rare songs in it.

Well, IMO, I like DDRMAX better than MAX2, but not by that much. DDRMAX has some good songs like MAX300, Healing Vision, Healing Vision Angelic Mix, Trip Machine Climax, Drop the Bomb, Candy* (You get my point), but DDRMAX2 has some fairly good songs as well, like MaxX Unlimited, Afronova, Kakumei, etc. It's really depends on the music you like.

There all good. I started with MAX2, MAX I think has the better song list of the 3, and I had the most fun with Extreme. I don't know what to pick.

For collection's sake, I suggest MAX as it's the only one of the three that didn't receive a "Greatest Hits" status. I mean, if you intend on buying all of the DDR games, start with the ones that'll go out of print.

Ever since MAX2 and EXTREME became Greatest Hits, they've been popping up alot in Best Buy and Wal-Mart.

MAX 2 > MAX just for having So Deep (Perfect Sphere Mix).

Max 2 has a better songlist, better interface, and is just better to play. And several songs on Max are also on Max 2.

How can you hate a mix wit songs like Drop Out, LOM, and Trip Machine Survivor?
