They sued about the microphone copying Karaoke Revolution or something... Which I don't see how you can patent... It's a microphone Confused

harmonix's name is all over karaoke revolution, as they built the engine and interface from the ground up. konami pretty much just funded the licenses and allowed them to use the "revolution" name to further sales as it linked it to the already well known dance dance revolution.

IIRC the lawsuit was over the guitar controller, and playing multiple instruments in band format.

The Konami patent that is part of the lawsuit is here: Link

I wonder if stores will have demo stations for this game like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Even though their review is brutally honest, they still fucked up by saying that this is part of the BEMANI series...when it clearly has not BEMANI labels on it at all.

If it was BEMANI, it would have songs from GF/DM

First of all, if you're used to the slanted viewpoint of the note lanes in Rock Band or Guitar Hero, you'll be in for a shock with Rock Revolution. Instead of appearing to enter the screen from the middle distance, the notes drop straight down from the top of the screen, giving you significantly less time to process what you're seeing. It's fine on medium difficulty on bass, but once you bump things up to hard on the drums, get ready to either cry or laugh, depending on whether or not you paid for this game.

I thought you said you've played Drummania?

I just died a little inside watching that Chop Suey video... because the cover is so pitiful, and the actual chart area looks completely terrible. Did Konami not even try with this?

Glad I didn't pick up a copy of it now and decided to save my money for GH - World Tour.

"working on pulsemix!"
Wow, with the new DLC releases I might buy it, eventually. If only it didn't cost so much for a shitty drumkit Neutral

Now all it needs is better covers, online play, and a good theme.

GameSpot Article

Quote: GameSpot
Unfortunately, October was not nearly as kind to the third instrument-based rhythm game released during the month, Rock Revolution. According to NPD figures, Konami's critically savaged game sold less than 3,000 units across the entirety of the country during the month. According to the data, the game sold 1,442 for the 360, 816 for the PS3, 666 for the DS, and only two copies for the Wii.

Requests for verification of the extremely suspect Wii figure had not been answered by NPD or Konami as of press time. However, it must be noted that NPD data is from a survey of retailers, so it's likely that a number that low is some sort of statistical mistake.

[UPDATE] Suspect indeed: The number for the Wii version of Rock Revolution was so low because it didn't actually arrive in stores until November 11, whereas all three other versions went on sale October 15. Whether it exceeds its siblings' sales will be seen next month. For October, the game generated just over $132,000 in sales.
Oh dear.
Oni-91: Also from mentioning Dancing Stage SuperNOVA2 PS2, the powers that be have torched a small Amazonian village out of rage.

Whoa. Only 666 copies on the DS , if that isn't a sign I don't know what is. Maybe with figures like that they'll take another shot at beatmania , at least sales on that weren't as dismal.
