Since everyone else had time to relax I will break down the Superbowl and why Manning failed tonight at one of his biggest falters in his career.
The Broncos Offense and Defense are some of the best in the regular league. No team dare to challenge their authority. Dallas, Oakland, Washington, Baltimore, even Kansas City. They all fell. They had Peyton Manning, Thomas Moore, an Anti-Willis Mcgahee tailback, and a Defense that manages to hold down some of the best known offensive teams in the NFL as shown in the conference game vs New England. So why did they falter?
During his dentures as a Colt and as a Bronco, Manning was and still is, the Charlie Brown of football when it came to games that meant the most to his team. Honestly, I expected a complete blowout for the Superbowl this year. If only I picked the right side. To be honest, Peyton Manning did what he had to against the Seattle Seahawks. There was no way in HELL, he could have done any better than any other team that has never faced the Seahawks in years. The Legion of Boom proved too much for Manning and that's what costs him pick 6s.
Also, the whole unit for the Seattle Seahawks was completely different from what the Broncos are used to. If you notice, Manning tried to throw different near the Second Quarter to gain some momentum and to get something working. However the Seahawks defensive on the run and pass acknowledged this and lead to a pick off. Another thing for the Broncos, they are one of the few teams to completely halt Marshawn Lynch. That in it of itself is a great achievement for their defensive.
Manning is still one of the best players in the NFL. Are we really going to forget his record making season in the Regular Season? The way he steamrolled nearly every team that came up on his schedule? The Cowboys-Broncos game anyone?
Also, he already proved himself as a great QB. Everyone else is picking on him and saying that he is a terrible player, he is not. He has problems, he has issues with interceptions, and sometimes he doesn't make the best calls, but he has won a Super Bowl ring. With just one ring, says a lot. Plus, many of the Seahawks defended Peyton Manning attacks, even Richard Sherman stepped in to help. That is pure sportsmanship to your fellow players in the Superbowl.
So please. Yes, Peyton Manning absolutely bombed the game. But be realistic, he is still one of the best Football Quarterbacks of all time.

He also conceded that he's almost done with the NFL.
I mean Eli Manning worried that he wouldn't play over the neck surgery he had.

Believe it or not, this is actually the first time I've ever bet on Duke.

I actually just had a chat with a customer of mine this morning and the first thing out of his mouth was this. Elder guy in his 60s. Big financial guru.
He bet Florida. He thinks Duke will be at the end but he figures Florida is game.

I have no confidence in this bracket outside of the Final Four. The fact that I only picked one team below a 4-seed making the Sweet Sixteen bothers me. As usual, i'll probably have like 6 wrong picks in the first round.
Edit: Changed two picks, VCU over SF Austin, and Harvard over Cincinnati.

It's pretty much impossible to get it perfect for first round picks.

Right now I'm 10/14. Not bad... Until I find out my freaking mother has a prefect bracket so far.

So far I'm 11 for 5. Got tied up in two particularly major upsets (Harvard, why didn't I factor in the possibility of a repeat? And Dayton... what the hell, Buckeyes?), a buzzer-beater (Texas), and a few overtime shockers.
Four OT games in one day...

In other sports new.
Michael Vick just got signed to the NYJ while kicking out Mark Sanchez. This means that either Geno Smith or Vick are gonna be starting or they are gonna draft another good QB. This trade is entirely weird to me as there really is no real difference between Vick and Geno because they both have ok-ish arms but great running speed. Oh well, we will see how that works out in the end.
Oh, and Matt Shaub is in Oakland now. How fitting.

AWW YEAH, FOOTBALL IS BACK
SUCK IT OTHER SPORTS
Edit: At the present moment, Seattle has the worst offense, defense and special teams in the NFL. I shall savior this moment for as long as possible, because it'll never be this way again.

that Eric Decker + CJ2K + Michael Vick combo is sexy
Yes, that combo is very sexy, a shame they will probably find a way to fuck it all up and not use it effectively. The Jets organization is very good at not being very good.ポスト #140 · 2014-09-08 11:25:19amにポスト 10年前
Okay so wai. back up. back up. BACK UP.
....
-The Vikings go 34-6 on the road against the Rams?
-The Cleveland Browns actually had a chance to win, IN HEINZ FIELD??
-Buffalo and Atlanta won overtime against Chicago and New Orleans on the road????
-THE TITANS WON AGAINST THE CHIEFS IN ARROWHEAD????
What the hell is going on this week. When did all of these teams started becoming good? ;~;
