"Full Stream Ahead!" |
I just got a copy of ITG (finally!!!!) and am working on the Expert level songs. I can play 10s like it's no problem at all, but there is something about the 11s that I just can't seem to get with them. I'm currently working on Charlene and I always fail about halfway through the song even with using the bar. If you guys could provide some tips, I would be very grateful.
Thanks!

Practice! Try and get used to moving little as possible when trying to hit the right panel.

Do you fail on Charlene because of your lifebar ?
I mean, any problem with mines ?
If it's a stamina problem, i recomand you to keep playing 9' and 10' (even with easier songs, you can build some stamina). And after, try "easy" 11 like Xuxa for exemple.
Also, can you clear Disconected Hyper ? One of the most hardest (in terms on speed) 10' on itg.

It isn't really a stamina problem because I do a lot of running, I just have trouble reading the jumps in between the mines. How many songs does it take to unlock Xuxa? I just unlocked Anubis and passed it as well.
I haven't tried Disconnected Hyper yet but I will tonight or tomorrow.

Xuxa takes 190 songs to unlock it.

Is your dance mat up to par?
Have you heard of StepMania?
ITG PC?

I have 2 Afterburner mats that work like a charm and I have Stepmania. I haven't found the song packs for ITG 2 or 3 yet because most of Stepmania's simfiles work on PC and I use a Mac.

That would be due to the rolls, I assume. You know, Stepmania 4.0 (not the alpha, unfortunately) is available for the Mac and that supports rolls. Unless there's some other reason...?ポスト #10 · 2010-08-24 10:58:03amにポスト 13.8年前

Regarding the Stamina point... I think the intent was not to ask if you're in good shape, but to find out how you fail songs.
When you're playing 11's, does your life bar tend to slowly run out throughout? Or do you run out of steam halfway through and your accuracy starts to suffer? It can either be a technical limitation, or a stepping endurance issue. The answer to this will be very helpful.

My bar just slowly goes down throughout the song. I don't really have any problems with stamina.

O_o There are billions of crossovers in clockwork. Imo Clockwork > XuxaAlso yes, what Adamn says.
If you clear a 10' with a 65% score or a 95% score, there is a huge difference.
I mean, if you clear most of them with a good score, your stamina is at least decent and your accuracy too.
So that mean it's a problem with paterns (you only said "Charlene" song full of mines).
But if you have low scores, then, keep practicing 9' and 10' (with not 8' sometimes if you have acuracy issues).
EDIT : Oops i didn't saw agentmargo's last post until i posted. So it's accuracy or patern issues.
Could you post some scores (no video or screenshoot mandadory) on some 9' 10'.
I think we need more informations to helps you with your problem.

Is a 16 on the X-Scale considered a 10 or an 11? I can play some 16s pretty well.
Here are some of my most recent videos, I'll try to get more pictures or videos uploaded today or tomorrow.
romEO and Juli8 - 9
Expert, No Bar 91.24%
My record is now around 94%
My Favorite Game - 10
Expert, Bar 82.12%

Ahh, you just need to keep practicing. Get your 10's score over 90% consistently before taking 11's seriously, and learn how to turn your body better (for instance try doing R0me0 & JuLI8 for the L D R D L pattern, hit the L with your Left foot, D with your Right foot, R with your Left foot, D with your Right foot, and L with your Left foot, this will cause you to turn your body but will allow you to score better and play more fluidly.

In my experience I'd say 16's new scale are like solid 11's ITG scale. That's about where I am on both systems - can't pass 17's new scale DDR or 12's ITG scale

I've only passed 2 16's right now, but I haven't really passed an 11 yet unless you count a fanmade stepfile of Alejandro.
So 14-15 = 10
16 = 11
17 = 12
18 = 13?
That makes sense.
