Yea, it's official too, if you look at the picture i put up on the first post, you can almost see the Konami logo underneath the "H", and on the side you can also see the Activision logo and Raw Thrills logo tooPost #44 · Posted at 2008-11-18 07:26:58am 15.8 years ago

Chances of GF/DM songs being in it are slim to none. I think Konami is just making the machine, nothing else.

Well just to let you know it isn't over! more coverage will be shown tomorrow when they actually showcase and test out the machine (along side some American Idol machine...LOL)
Hopefully we get some video of gameplay and maybe a song list while they are at it

All I know is that this song needs to be in it. NOT A RICK ROLL!

... That's kind of what I was thinking.
Konami: "Let's sue the shit out of RoXoR and ITG but help Activision with their guitar game!"

Because Activision is actually respecting Konami's patent and have been paying them royalties. THAT's why they're willing to work with Activision.

^this. its nice to know i'm not the only person who pays attention.
anyway, i dont get everyone's complaints about this. everyone acts like because the people at x-play are a bunch of tools, and because there are a lot of stupid people out there who think TTFAF has any kind of musical quality that this makes GH a bad game, which makes those people as stupid as the people on x-play.
GH is a fun game, and it has music that appeals to people who arent konami fanboys going "LULZ NO LICNEZES KOS NAO PLOX", hence it is a success. i would be willing to bet money that most of the people on these forums who cant stand GH havnt even played it, they just looked at it and passed it off as a GF rip off.

Well i just like to see this on both sides of the table, i like GH, and i also like DDR.
i like DDR because of the way you actually get up and step on arrows which creates this whole new way of playing a game. Plus i love the music that the game includes. Thanks to this game i lost 26lbs. over one summer.
i like GH because you may/may not get up from where you were sitting and you play with a guitar, in it's own way it was unique for me because you play using a guitar controller, plus some of the music that is included in the games are pretty damn good to "rock out" and (by somehow someway) they actually teach you ways of playing the guitar just like what they would do in an actual guitar. (This game actually makes me want to get a guitar and start learning how to play...)
I like both games respectively, i try not to "boast" one side over the other, but at certain times people agree with one thing, and then other people agree with another one. (Why do i have the feeling i have talked about this somewhere before?).
Nonetheless, i would like to try this AC out, see the song list, check out any other extras, etc.
BTW, what pie said about Activision paying respects to Konami sounds right, i hope this is why they helped Activision in designing the cabinet.

I was fine with what you were saying until you said the above.
Guitar Hero in no way teaches you how to play like a guitar. It only goes as far as to to teach you that you have to hold down the string and pluck said string to make a sound. And it also tells you that the closer you play to the body of the guitar, the higher pitch. That's all it'll mention.
I've had friends whose skill on an actual guitar has gone down the crapper because of Guitar Hero. The game also doesn't tell you that you need commitment to the instrument to be even decent at it. And don't forget the price for guitars and kits to clean and repair it when the strings break.
But hey, that's what Harmonix was going for: to get your butt out and actually play it. And if not, you can always play their simultated games.

I see you also picked up your awesome dancefloor skills from DDR. bbl, I'm off to go clubbing and impress everyone with the dancing skills I picked up from ITG doubles.Post #57 · Posted at 2008-11-19 07:26:26am 15.8 years ago

It happened to me. I'm much worse at guitar now than I was before I started playing Guitar Hero.

...i failed (meaning forget what i said, i just read in some article how GH can actually help you play the guitar better...*sighs* -_- )
Anywho, a quick update has been put up from Bemanistyles:
Quote: bemanistyle.com
frzamonkey, manager of an arcade in Daytona, FL that I got in contact via Joystiq is at IAAPA and contacted me from the show floor to deliver these few small updates:
- The game is basically a modified version of Guitar Hero III running on PC hardware at it's current state. No word on whether anything major will be added or changed before it's release as of yet.
- The Konami/Activision partnership may have more to do with the potential earnings of the game rather than Konami giving up on the US market or both companies wanting to play nice. Not too surprising, but at least that doesn't necessarily mean the end of GFdm.
- The controllers for the arcade version are modeled after the Guitar Hero World Tour guitars, but built more like the Guitar Freaks AC guitars. There go any durability concerns anyone should be having.
- Online functionality is definitely planned, and will be handled through the same servers as Raw Thrills' hit Big Buck Hunter titles.
- Song updates through the online connection are a possibility.
Above everything else, he does say that the gameplay remains fun and true to it's form. We should have some more updates as well as some pictures as the show continues, with a larger feature on the show as a whole as it wraps up.
Hmmm...so it is a modded GH III running on a PC format eh? Nice...also song updates through online becoming a possibility?
