| コメント | [Only One Finale] Super Star Mitsuru - SA.YO.NA.RA SUPER STAR Week 2 entry for War Games. This was my first time working on a Bemani crossover (Hyper Gride doesn't really count, since the gameplays has no correlation to the music). The song was incredibly popular at the time, and the ending to the video was a running meme. The song almost didn't happen, because the video had only been uploaded to youtube in the lowest of qualities. Thankfully, Darkstorm picked up a DVD copy, and we actually ended up with the highest-quality video on the internet o.O When you make a simfile of a song that already exists in some sort of music game, the player is always going to have an expectation of what that song “plays like”, and it's difficult to live upto that expectation. I tried to think of what my expections for the song were : 1) It had to look, feel and play like a sequal to She Is My Wife 2) It had to have the video 3) It had to have the iconic shot of dj TAKA at the end, clearly visible 4) It would be really fun for people watching if the player could walk off the DDR machine as the Superstar Mitsuru “leaves”, and then rush back as he makes his big return, to play the last few steps I think #3 is perhaps something that doesn't exist within the general mentality dancing game players anymore. Suffice to say, the idea got completely shat upon. Ironically, this was almost MY finally from the simfile community, thanks to fun, fun health problems >_< |
