"All I see is money and some out of touch old fucks" - a h3h3 comment that might as well be the fucking motto of politics.
Post #3 · Posted at 2017-03-25 10:29:26pm 7.1 years ago
This bill is a disgrace.
You, and you only, should have the right to sell your personally browsing history to anyone or do anything else you want with it. You pay for your fucking internet connection and the mighty big overlords can't just come along and announce "oh, we're gonna sell your internet privacy to whoever bids the highest money". Like... holy shit. Imagine how many riots are going to happen because of this.
"A free country" my ass. Fucking politics...

Well, I use private browsing so I don't usually have a browsing history...

Private browsing doesn't do shit; Your ISP also records your history so you can't just delete all of your history at the end of the day and think you're safe...
Quote: Google Chrome's incognito disclaimer
You’ve gone incognito
Pages you view in incognito tabs won’t stick around in your browser’s history, cookie store, or search history after you’ve closed all of your incognito tabs. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be kept.
However, you aren’t invisible. Going incognito doesn’t hide your browsing from your employer, your internet service provider, or the websites you visit.

just fill up your browsing history with some hot pr0n and whoever buys it will lose their virginity in moments
Cause that's what certain people are gonna do if the bill is passed.

I'm not particularly bothered - if they want to see what porn I look at, I'm happy for them to go for it.

I see a major flaw in this.
So unless every single computer has a webcam or fingerprint scanner installed, how are they going to know who's browsing what? I mean, I could share my computer with other people under my same Windows account, and they're not going to be able to tell a difference. So if other people used my PC to browse "hot pr0n" (for the record, I NEVER browse pr0n, ever.) or download illegal torrents under my same IP address, the guys in Washington or my ISP could convict ME of doing embarrassing/illegal wrongdoings and I would be wrongly convicted of looking up shit I didn't do myself. For the record, I don't share my PC with anyone.
This shit needs to be repealed, NOW!!

Man who gives a crap tbh, in the end it's all just to determine what bs ad shows up on the pages I visit, that which I won't click anyways.

Uh, because if this is okay, who knows what isn't? Next thing they'll be doing is selling your personal information.

Honestly I thought this was already a thing or that the government just did it anyway regardless of ISP permission . I guess now they can do it outside of the shadows.
