Up for a game of TechnoMotion, anyone?
Hell yes! I remember wanting to put a 9 panel mode in a dance game of mine myself.

I bet Shock Arrows would be fun on this. There's be nowhere to step except off the pad!

I love how we might be getting a new dance game in the US...
When the public can barely do DDR or PIU...
Does this mean highest difficulty or something else? Due to coordination I usually stay in the 5-7 range

Well Shock Arrows only apply to all panels, so no, I mean Shock Arrows. They wouldn't be called Shock Arrows, but you get the idea.Post #26 · Posted at 2016-03-03 06:14:52am 8.1 years ago

Surprised no one posted this link. If anything, this gives you a good view of the dance pads, and what exactly is in there (No brackets, etc.)
From the looks of the pad, you could play this game barefoot and never have to worry about cutting your feet up, or worry about rust over time.

You can say good bye to brackets, switches and traditional metal contacts!

If this isn't balls-expensive, I'm totally going to get one of these...

All of the ITG fans are going to hate this pad because of the lack of a bar. Then again this might be just a test pad and the final version will have a bar.

That pad with 9 arrows reminds me of the Big Time Rush episode "Big Time Christmas", where a cartoon segment called "Yard Squirrels" featured a dance game played with a pad just like that one! They do say life imitates art...

Kyle posted some new images of the mystery game on his Facebook; not sure that I am allowed to show the images off, since he chose a "specific audience" to see the post when I tried to share it, but still interesting to mention nonetheless!
The first image is pretty blurred to where you can't see the marquee/title, but you can see that there's a ReRave-style cabinet, except that the monitor is tilted downwards for obvious reasons, and you can see one of the dance pads with the upright and right arrows missing, and yes, there will be bars with the game, which is no big surprise. Other than those, we see an unfinished dance pad that shows off a bunch of lights for each arrow, which would explain why it's bright and can change colors, as well as a laptop on the bottom-right, possibly for debugging stuff.
The 2nd image is more straightforward; you see a bunch of the backs of the ReRave-style cabinets. as well as a dance pad with bar that only has a red frame/brackets. The interesting thing is that there's a reflection to where you can see the marquee; it's very hard to see the name, but there's shades of red in it.
I'm going to go on a hitch and say that the title is gonna be either:
A. A reboot of In The Groove (very possible, since Konami's rights to the name/IP is expiring around this time).
B. Something along the lines of "ReRave -Floor-/Floor Edition/Dance"
C. Both (i.e. ReGroove, which would be a really good name.)
D. None of the above.
Either way, I would definitely not put it past me that it's going to use a touchscreen interface, since there are no physical buttons on the cabinet! (Well, if there is, it's way too blurry to see...)
Make of it what you will, but if you have access to Kyle's FB, take a look at the images yourself.
So, Kyle made another post with a teaser image!
So, it looks like the diagonal arrows are gone, and it's now a 4-panel game with a center button. Such a shame if that's the case, since I would've loved to play a modern TechnoMotion. ;)

Another successful day of testing. Looking forward to the future! Happy to be doing this stuff again after so many years and it's truly amazing to be working with some familiar faces (and new) who are talented and just as motivated to make things the best they can be.

There's still a chance the corners are still being used. They just have a different design now.

My only concern was the fact that the pads didn't have a bar. Now I see they do, and I'm happy.

How much do you think the pad will cost?

That's implying it'll last that long in market.Post #37 · Posted at 2016-05-04 08:17:37pm 8 years ago

For anyone that has been on Facebook and is friends with Kyle Ward, he was just streaming a new video of him playing his new 9(!) panel dance game. The stepcharts seem very ITG-ish with some simultaneous 3 panel presses on one side which suggests smaller panels. Did anyone catch it from the beginning before it's available to watch again?
