Question: who will be the judges? Just the people who are submitting files to this?

Because I'd like to review simfiles, but I really doubt that I could submit simfiles to this...

As long as a judge is sane and has an understanding of what a simfile should consist of...

Everything else is optional, though they will increase your chance in winning.



The idea is to have people vote on the simfiles and the winner is picked based on vote count. Discussion on actually judging the simfiles hasn't been brought up, but I'm assuming that anyone can judge the simfiles, as that's what the simfile comments are for.

Rock Band / Guitar Hero is a MUST. Maybe even a two-weeker.
Four-letter song titles.
Really really long titles that sound like sentences.
6-Panel charts for DDR/ITG songs without them, and/or Doubles for Hottest Party songs or titles without those, too.
DDR Parody songs.
"CHAOS week," where songs are given intentionally stop-n-go charts, like CHAOS.
Videos week, where songs must contain a video BG.
TV Theme song week. (Anime = it's own week, btw.)
MEGA MAN/ROCKMAN WEEK. (There's a good reason musical experimenters choose to branch from this. Remakes/remixes are valid, too; any related series like MMX is too.)


IDEA: Keyboard charts should be put in as EDITS if featured, and titled as such. All songs should include pad steps, whether they include KB steps or not.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I do make edit steps for songs in the NES collab and stuff. Kind of want to keep EDIT blink for people who want there own steps in, know what I mean?

....i would be INTERESTED into creating a DJ Hero simfile pack, but i have like, NO experience with CREATING sims, it seems a lot harder to create sims than making edits for them

Look up WinBPM. Shortcut it to your desktop, too. That thing will be your best friend. ;)

Pandy: Logic with MEGAMAN week is that it's not limited to the NES/classic series. You could do a MM Legends song, a Cannon Spike song, anything Megaman/Rockman related... unless that's valid in "NES flashback week," too. Also, didn't know there already was a TV-themes and RB/GH week.

With all these cool themes, it might be a good idea to make this a year-long project! (And then, also nonstop/ONI course each theme of the week.)

I like the nonstop courses idea. Maybe the first ~ fifth could be made into a nonstop that could be downloaded at the end of judging. It wouldn't be hard.

Also, I totally thought up of the year-long project in the chat first (does it really matter? No. I just liked how it was completely overshadowed by the resounding NO DRAGONFORCE THEME). Great minds think alike, huh Nightime?

You do deserve some credit. I wanted to do a Simfile tournament, but this was a better idea.
