Butterfly and Dub-I-Dub don't deserve to be removed! They're iconic!

Though, for a comparison, we got TEN 18's: FAXX, HDV, ParaHades, NGO, PR, Trigger, 888, MEI, Anti-Matter, New Decade, POSSESSION, and only THEN did we get our first 19: Valkyrie Dimension, on .
There's also FELM and DEGRS.
DEGRS doesn't exist. It's all in your head.

DEGRS is the best thing to be in DDR since Darude hit it up with Sandstorm.

My thoughts exactly; I'm not to surprised at the thought of them getting removed eventually, but to not even appear in DDR A is simply sad. I hope Konami revives them back eventually, but I can only hope.

You guys don't need it revived. Just play the DDR AC near you for those songs. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Butterfly and Dub-I-Dub deserve to be removed! They're expensive to keep licensed, especially since nobody is playing the songs!

Actually, I'm waiting for the Dave and Buster's near me to get DDR, and to play these songs otherwise (especially DUB-I-DUB), I would need to spare a longer and more inconvenient trip to Round 1. Plus, I think that Butterfly and DUB-I-DUB are the iconic songs of the franchise, especially the former.Post #8328 · Posté à 2016-03-02 12:15:52am il y a 8.2 années

It was only a matter of time with these. Honestly I'm shocked BUTTERFLY and DUB-I-DUB stayed around as long as they did.BUTTERFLY (2008 X-edit)

If I remember correctly, GOLDEN SKY, DDR Supernova's flagship license, was introduced in 2006 and removed in 2014, meaning that all of these licenses lasted for 8 years. Personally, what confuses me a little is why these two licenses are being removed along side newer (2013?) licenses; the last bulk removal made sense as those were all X2 licenses, and every other song removal was done individually. Also, part of the reason removing these iconic licenses is such a big deal to people like me is because DDR is making its return to America after a six-year hiatus; some people who casually know DDR will likely wonder where BUTTERFLY is, so I think it would have been nice to keep it for at least until after DDR (A) debuts in the west.Post #8330 · Posté à 2016-03-02 11:21:45am il y a 8.2 années

They could've been okay getting rid of just DUB-I-DUB but BUTTERFLY should've never been removed due to its status as such a popular DDR song worldwide that almost "represents" the franchise in a way.

The DDR team is constantly monitoring how often songs are played/passed/etc. Songs are not free to license. If no one is playing a song, it doesn't matter how "iconic" it is.

True.
I feel the reason why nobody wants to play those ICONIC songs anymore is because touhou and vocaloid took over in the world of licensed songs (sigh)

It's probably more the fact that those songs are seriously 14 years old now and people are tired of them.
DDR Extreme has been out for 4,806 days. If you assume that, between all of the machines everywhere in the world, Kind Lady was played just once every hour for those 4,806 days, that would mean Kind Lady has been heard 115,344 times. More realistically, Kind Lady has been played literal millions of times.

Meanwhile MAX 300 is still in the game, yet Kind Lady was removed.

MAX 300 remains as one of the most frequently played songs ever, so not really shocked about that. Still, that does not explain Kind Lady's removal because of lack of "popularity".Post #8340 · Posté à 2016-03-03 07:22:23pm il y a 8.2 années

Are you telling me you're confused as to why MAX 300 is still in the game?
