Not used to the slide notes. If I'm distracted with other notes and im holding a slide note, I might move too high or too low and break combo haha. I do like the version though.

Here's just my thoughts on VOLZZA (I apologize if I'm all over the place):
I find it very interesting how the 10+ is now split up into 11s and 12s, and I understand why: too many 10+ in the game, and some are significantly harder than others. I'm surprised IIDX hasn't had the same treatment, because there are just way too many 12s out there IMO. (Maybe a re-scaling to 1-15 would help--I'll explain this in a later post if anyone asks, but I hope Konami splits the 11's and 12's range between 11-15.)
Visually, it's very appealing. Color scheme is very vibrant (Wait--is that Pastel-kun dancing before the results screen shows up? That's so cute!). Very sleek interface too. But the announcer doesn't sound as excited as she was in groovin'!! but at least she doesn't say "Upper Level X" now.
Gameplay-wise, the Slide notes add a new dimension to the game, as they are a step higher from Long notes (which have been around since REFLEC's early days). However, it bugs me that the BPM is no longer displayed. I wonder why.
Fun fact about L.E.D.'s new song "THE LYCANTHROPE": A lycanthrope is another name for a werewolf (the process of a human turning into a werewolf is called "lycanthropy"), but it shares so many similarities with SCHWARZSCHILD FIELD, only with less panning instruments one way or another.
Crystalia is very very similar to DJ TOTTO's songs. The ones I can think of are piano samples from glacia, but the drumset and string section sounds a lot like Chronoxia--Totto probably produced this particular track as a successor to Adularia, which has a similar ending to this song.
Seriously, if I could just move to Japan (or if Konami gets REFLEC BEAT going in America), I would play it for hours on end. Just my two cents on this game.

Unlocking really is easier, you can gamble to unlock the song faster at the cost of resetting your progress if you lose. You can also use keys to buy some other songs. The new Pastel-kun looks weird though. Looks a little too 3Dish to me.
That reminds me, does anyone know how to change to display all songs? I don't like the fact I can only pick from specific game. I don't think I was able to find "display all song" or so.

My opinion for this RB is about confirm one thing: this is THE GAME to go for Bemani. They put so much effort on the song list, adding some stuff related to other bemani games, for example:
- Journey being the first CONTEMPORARY NATION song outside P'nM
- 雪月夜 being the sequel of an early IIDX song
- FIRE 2, the same thing with 雪月夜 but related to a GF/DM song
- The first time Sota use the Sota F. alias outside DDR
- (This is only my speculation) 斬刀鬼, if this is part of the HIP ROCK songs, is the first time they release it outside P'nM
Speaking about the new songs not related to another bemani games, is a pretty solid list with good charts. The only thing i dislike about the game is the unlock system: This RB tries to unlock so many songs in a short period of time, and is boring. Maybe they can add some difficult, trying to change this event like weekly, idk.
So yeah, maybe in some years Konami just remove all of his bemani games, only having RB and maybe SDVX and Museca xD!

差無来!! (HIP ROCK 3.5) first appeared in GFDM V3 before it got crossed over to pop'n 18 so that's not the first time a HIP ROCK song debuts outside of pop'n.
斬刀鬼 is not exactly confirmed as HIP ROCK 7 for now (might be 6.5 at least) though.
Also, lineouts of the fourth round songs are in this person's channel:

Apparently, RAIN's difficulty is 6/9/12.
If what I fear is true, we could end up with a 7/10/12 in the future. Jeez, REFLEC is seriously the IIDX of touchscreen games, and I love everything about it.

Can't tell you the actual BPM, but I would assume it's 164 BPM, same as the original True Blue.

I tried with a metronome with tap capabilities, and based on the analysis, it seems to run at 164 BPM, like the original. Then in Audacity I generated a track (that alternated between 1/2 beat of an A440 tone, 1/2 beat of silence) and lined it up with the mp3 of the song. Both run at 164 BPM.Post #79 · Posted at 2015-10-31 06:50:18pm 8.6 years ago

I absolutely adore the songlist for VOLZZA and it's so nice to see Reflec Beat going from strength to strength. It will be interesting to see the new songs added over its course.
RAIN is just such a good dj TAKA song, I can't stop listening.

I second that. I'm surprised that a V2 SPECIAL-style chart containing only 800-something notes can be a 12 though. I don't play REFLEC that often (I mean, I tried REFLEC BEAT plus for a little bit but I sucked).
