I'm currently in the market for a metal ddr pad for use with stepmania since I've decided to sell all my CS PS2 games.
I found this one on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220982415210
I don't know if it's any good, anyone on here got any feedback to these particular pads?

I had one of those pads back in 2007. It looks really cool but lacks in quality. I started having problems with it after about a year of heavy game play. The top part of the sensor was pretty much made of aluminum foil which was quite easy to replace once it broke (which happened after a year or so), however, after about 1.5 years of heavy use, some of the wiring broke which could easily be fixed but I got tired of it all and just got a cobalt flux.
All in all, it was a decent pad for about a year, and it just looks really cool with its shinyness. I think it would be great for a casual player, but if you are a hardcore player, then I would try to find something more sturdy.
I would give it 3/5.

Thanks for the info!
I wouldn't consder myself a hardcore player though, I play on heavy but usuaylly stay away from any 10 footers. So i'm thinking this might be what I'm looking for, since I can't really play on a daily basis.

Cobalt flux is the way to go as far as I'm concerned. Most metal pads are probably overpriced.

If you can, try to find an Afterburner pad. I have 2 of them and they still work after 2 years of use. I did have to mod them by putting lexan overtop of the panels, but the foil was not an issue.

Material of Arrow: Acrylic Plastic
=shit!Plexiglass will break fast!
You should look for Lexan arrows (Polycarbonate) They won`t break.
I have my Pad for 2 years soon and there are not even scratches on the Panels. (I have a FitpPro but they have never been sold in the US, and now the shop has closed)
Look for the BLACK PLATINUM NEXEN DANCE PAD (my mymybox), it`s a very good Pad.
Also, the Cobalt Flux is a great Pad.

What Lucie said.
I say look for used Blue Shark and Cobalt Flux pads.

I've heard good things about IONs, iamchris4lifefan11/DDRPheonix uses one. I don't know if I'd trust the Nexen because having the item for pick-up only might mean that it isn't durable enough to be delivered through mail(or survive the FELM oni chart, lol)

No, it`s because the Pads are very heavy.
it`s the same shop that was selling the Blueshark which was considered to be one of the best Pads ever. real Arcade sensors and such stuff.
But seems like mymybox has closed anyways... so no Nexen Pad
I`ll get a CF next month! Yeah, doubles!

My Cobalt Flux(w/ clear arcade mod) is a little over a year old and still works like the first day I got it. You're supposed to clean them once every two months or so, but I've only done that a couple times. They are great pads, I'm sad that the company went out before I could get another for Doubles.

That's all great and all, but Blue Sharks and CF are really hard to come by now a days. And do they even have a PC plug? I'm looking to use this on Stepmania.

They should both have USB on their breakout boxes. And yeah, you're only going to find them used now.
