OK, I have Hottest Party 5. Enjoying it quite a bit, actually.

Apparently according to the back of the box, it got a 16 for "Violence." ...eh?

Also, you know the bit at the bottom right that comes up when you go over a long version song and it says something like "other info"? In the English translation, they forgot to translate it back from German. Honestly. I'll put up a pic if you want.

One of the videos? Either that, or PEGI got the wrong game. Seems to be the latter as USK (Austria/Germany's ratings system) are really strict bastards when it comes to violence in games and they gave it a 0+.

Violence?? D8 That is just baffling! I can't think of a single example of "Violence" in DDR II! The most "extreme" example I can think of is Rinon walking off in flames in a rather creepy way, but...but really, no, that isn't violent at all. How weird! \o/

You gotta look at the license videos and how suggestive they are.

That German thing is pretty good, but as far as European snubs go, I'd have to say it ranks far below arbitrary delays. Or would you like them to spend another 6 months delaying the game for Europe so they'd catch that one?

Yeah, if it took them half a year to release DS Max with the beginner difficulty spelt "BEGENNER", then this isn't THAT bad.

Not to mention EX2 has MARVELLOUS and EX1 US has Japanese course banners.

The banners on EX were on purpose. The japanese counterpart, FESTIVAL, has the banners in english.

Purpose?

Marvelous can be spelt properly with one or two Ls. "Marvellous" is considered the British spelling and the rest of the world tends to use the other variant. Can't remember if STR!KE used one or two...

As for the banners... so what? I'm pretty sure the text titles for the courses are English. I honestly wish they had not gone to the trouble to Romanize all those song banners over the years.

1. Yes, "marvellous" is correct in Britain. However, it is not in the US, where EX2 was available (not sure how Canada spells it).
