Just hope for a new bowling alley, arcade, or any general gameroom to open up and you might get something like an X or Supernova 2 or an X2 if you have luck....that's pretty much what happened here since Latitude 30 only opened up two weeks ago. They were pretty much buying new machines left and right.

Tampa has...over 10 locations for a possible "renovation", but that hasn't happened yet in YEARS...

...the ONLY places i see that have potential are the new Gameworks (now it's GameTime) which re-opened and renovated their selection of games with newer, "family friendly" ones, and this other place that is REALLY close by my house (Xtreme Adventures), they have a SN machine, but it could be possible for them to upgrade...

....but you know, this makes me wonder, there HAVE been new bowling alleys opening up, and i haven't checked their "arcades" yet...maybe, hopefully i might have missed one completely and they might have X, so who knows?

Tilt (Regency location) in Jacksonville, FL closed down two weeks ago. There goes a great condition Extreme and ITG2 r21 plus a bunch of good fighting games like 2 Tekken 5s, Soul Calibur, and Street Fighter. Time Crisis is everywhere, so I can't say much about that.

Another Florida ZIV user here. I've been here for a few years, but it's only recently that this place started picking up, posting Bemani news, and whatnot. I didn't even know there was a regional forum until maybe 20 minutes ago, and here I am!

I'm a Central Florida DDR player who's been on and off the game since 2003. I was there for the rise and fall of Rocky's Replay (it's now a small 'barcade' in the UCF area with no DDR, just Percussion Freaks), the Orlando DDR Extreme scene with such memorable locations as XS Orlando / Pac Man Cafe, TGI Friday's Sports Bar and Grill off of I-Drive [now closed], and the Motown Cafe at Universal CityWalk (now Bubba Gump's Shrimp). I still keep up pretty frequently with what's going on DDR-wise in the Orlando/Kissimmee area and semi-frequently update the location info when possible.

Wow, that Friday's closed? Were they doing THAT bad?

Also, Rocky's Replay moved for the 3rd time it seems, do they have any Bemani left?

Question 1: No! And that's what I really didn't understand at the time. It was the best Extreme at one of the best values, and I really enjoyed going there. It just...up and closed. No explanation.

Question 2: I did see the one hand-dancing (Dance Maniax? Para Para? I don't know what it's called) machine when I stopped by. Apparently, they cycle out the games based on their profits, and apparently it's popular with the crowd they've got there now when there is one. It was empty when I went there, 'bout midday. Place really gets going at night according to the guy who was working there.

---------------------------------

Couple of quick Orlando updates:

-Fun Spot DDR Extreme is no more. CPU is broken, and it can no longer be repaired. Rumor has it that they may be ordering new DDR...what mix and when are both mysteries for now "Within a month or two" was the best I could get.

-Regal Pointe Orlando 20 + IMAX on International Drive, which formerly hosted a DDR Extreme that had decent old-style pads, has the machine no more. Apparently replaced by Time Crisis. No plans on bringing it back / ordering new DDR there.

-WonderWorks, in which many thought that the DDR X disappeared completely, is found to still have its X machine! Numeric eAmuse keypads aside, it will not suppose eAmuse, as the machine is not Internet conncted (nor do I think they really want to order eAmuse cards for the maybe occasional person who would use it). It's $1 for 3 songs, but the pads leave much to be desired. I spoke with one of the attendants, and apparently they are waiting on sensors to come in. I was able to do some FCing on the 2P pad, but there were an awful lot of weird misses I was getting when I clearly was getting the steps.

That's not a good thing at all.

Well, I'm moving back to Fort Myers next week, and there's 2 DDR machines in the area. There was an ITG also, but I don't know what happened to that machine. Going to see if I can get the one of the machines upgraded. I don't know how I missed this thread.

I used to Kidstar in Port Charlotte. I don't have a car now, but I'll start going back there once I get another car. All the ITG I can take. Makes me so fucking happy!!
