Guitar Hero World Tour (PS3, PS2, Wii, 360)

Soooo the game came out a couple days ago, it's got some good songs in it (Santeria - Sublime...this was a surprise for me), new guitar (you can slide your fingers on the neck of the guitar? wwhhuuuaaat? lol) drums that actually LOOK like drums (elevated cymbals was all that it needed) you can sing (Rock Band much?) Create-a-Rocker (just like Create-a-Skater from those Tony Hawk games) and last but not least, the new Recording studio, GHTunes, and GHMix (a whole program to create, mix, edit, and distribute music...TO THE WORLD! )

...if only i had enough money to at least buy the Guitar pack for the PS3, then i would be happy. I guess i have to wait till...my birthday?

So anyone got it yet/planning to get it/don't give a s***/flame?

Anyway while we wait for this to catch, is there a way to play with the guitar only? There's no way I'm getting the entire thing since I'm not an avid player of this game. If I can find a copy for the PS2, I'll definitely take a look.

Well according to Wikipedia, the game was released simultaneously for all four gaming consoles on October 26th. I have yet to visit a Gamestop, Wal-mart, or any other places that sell video games. I will also take a look at the PS2 version, but i would rather take the advantage and see if i can get the PS3 version (only problem is that i would need some way to hook up my old GH controller to the PS3). This is why i need the one that has the NEW guitar and the game only, not the whole kit.

...sad truth , this isn't like Rock Band where you can "save" a band member, so if one fails, EVERYONE fails.

This game got a 7.1/10 on IGN...THAT was also another surprise to me.

Yes you can play through the whole game solo with the guitar and enjoy all the songs and extra features without even touching the other instruments. It might even be possible to play the whole of world tour mode with any of the other instruments solo and perhaps even just the mic!

By the way is anyone else just buying the game solus like me? Apparently the Guitar Hero III controller works just as well as the new one so I'm just going to use that. I might try to get a cheap USB mic and do some singing too if I can. I really couldn't care less about the other instruments partly because I have no one willing to play with me so the whole co-op thing is sort of lost. Probably explains why I never cared much for Rock Band.

Also World Tour Wii supports downloads which equals instant convenience for me should any songs I like become available.

Guitar Hero is not a party game, that's why I can't play it with my friends. My friends suck at the whole rhythm game genre, so whenever they come, we play for hours on Rock Band without worrying much about failure.

@maxninja: get Rock Band; the songs that are in World Tour will eventually get into Rock Band. Also Rock Band has the Beatles!!! (hopefully it's exclusive)

I have the Guitar Hero II controller. It works with GHIII so I'm assuming it'll work for GH World Tour as well?

I might just get a mic also since it looks cheap and I can piss people off with screaming.

I got it yesterday for Wii; It's pretty good. Is it me? or is everything (mostly text) is... small?

I'm saving up for the drum kit, I'm tearing up the game when that happens.

sounds like a real band. if the singer sucks, the band fails. if the drummer sucks, the band fails. etc. as convenient as saving is in RB/2, its stupid.

anyway, game is good. passed satch(?) boogie and mr. crowley on sight reads on my brothers 360, since he has the game and i dont. i'm a bit disappointed that i passed what i heard to be the hardest song on a sight read. also, -5 hotel california sight read. watching my brother play i can easily get today and what i've done.

RB2 did eye of the tiger expert guitar better, btw.

i was watching videos on this and now i think i really want it it was the custom songs that got me at first i thought Guitar Hero was just getting old with all these new releases every 5 months or so, but I like the new features they added for this. i'm currently researching on songlists now. the features may be good but there should be some songs that i would like to play in order to be definitely sure i want it. being a cautious buyer is always good
