I found *3* (count 'em, three) locations in Ocean City, New Jersey.

Kids N' Action, 13th & Boardwalk
Jilly's Arcade, 12th & Boardwalk
Playland Castaway Cove, 10th & Boardwalk

And there may be more.

hello guys, I played the final version of Guitar Hero AC last week (or something like that) and I just have to write something about it. I wonder if it was the same for you or not.
I'm not really a GH player even though I can play most experts up to now.

1. The controllers were heavy - even though they did not seem THAT heavy as the ones in the beta version
2. It seems the fret buttons are further away or are differently positioned. It took me while to change my playstyle to get used to it.
3. There was a huge lag I did not quite get. Because the 'not final' version machine I played on was offsync but it was off just by a little. It was quite ok to hit the notes when you were supposed to and still you were doing quite fine. On the final version...it was quite difficult... (easy song on expert on beta version = 99%, easy song on expert on final version = hardly 90%! - I messed it terribly)
4. Songlist has changed. Mainly it's the way the songs are group that changed. Looking for a song took me quite some time. All the songs I wanted to play were premium only songs. The timer went off on school's out so I played that song.

that's about it. other stuff like 1credit per song (or actually more credits per songs...) you already know about. I whined about this already in a different thread (or maybe this one).

1. I know right? When i first tried them on i was all like "WOAH! Heavy!" Must be made of some sheet metal or something >_>.
2. ...it didn't really feel like that when i was playing really (probably played to many GH controllers to notice) =/.
3. Never played the "beta" version, but it IS pretty laggy...
4. Not sure what you mean by that, did the songlist menu change or just the order of the songs you THOUGHT they were in...or the order of the songs from the beta version?

Oh yeah, in about five days, the GH:AC National Tournaments kick off in Australia...i have NO idea if anyone here is both from that region AND is entering...best safe to say, it's just gonna happen and if you happen to go and compete, let us know how it goes and junk Puppy Face.

ad 4. what I mean is that the order of the songs is changed. the songlist itself seems the same. (as far as I remember I don't really have a perfect memory)

ad 2. I played on 3 different GH controllers and none seemed to be problematic to me. It was mostly the lag that I had difficulties with. (finding out if it is early or late and then trying to compensate... - I need to see notes overlap with targets otherwise I'm screwed)

can anyone also comment on that? I would like to know if it is just my personal feeling or not.

ad Australia: I actually wondered if any tournaments would be hold. Because I heard about the online ranking system and such. But will anyone use it? I mean KONAMI does use internet ranking well but GH? do people play it to be the best and would want to show off in the arcades?(maybe yes but I can't imagine those GH players going out to pay to play the game when they can do it at home. because GHAC does not really appeal to me. I might throw in a credit or two if someone asks me to play a song.

and as far tournaments go..I competed in nationals in GH here (and qualifiers thus) and it was maybe one of the worst tournaments in anything I had to endure. eh...

Well, the way they are going to run this tournament (from this flyer/announcement) is that they are basically going to run it on ALL the Time Zone arcades in Australia on that day, whoever gets top 3 in their city/town move onto States, Top 2 in States move onto Nationals, and then the rest goes on from there.

And my mistake, make that THREE days before this event kicks off (August 16th) Tongue.

...and i just think this is only for the Australia region, there is no real indication that this will be online (hence the Time Zone arcades in Australia hosting the event).

It's actually Ottawa, OntarioSmile Not a big problem, but just thought I'd point it out.
Also, I have been meaning to tell you another location I knew since early July. There's one at SilverCity here in Ottawa. I didn't get the prices but I'm guess it'll be the sameRoll Eyes

I'd die if that happened. The game is not even close to being worth a dollar a song. Maybe a quarter

Well if it happened to me I mean. Still, I don't get how every arcade is buying into that indecent and overpriced game (to put it in a nicer way)

Well we have the State Finals for the Australian GH:AC competition tomorrow (30th), I work at the NSW Timezone store that is holding the State Final. The winner and the runner up go to QLD for the National Final (20th September I think) and then the winner gets flights/accomm. to New Zealand for the International Final.

And regarding online mode we haven't been given any information about it yet =(

Oh wow! Thank you for this info! Happy

If you can update us on who won the tournament, that would be most appreciated. Smile

Yeah, still seems that online mode is still off for the moment...beh, who would care anyway/how would that work anyway? >_>
