Well the only true factors that might make this game as popular as GH would be:
1)the controller
and
2)THE SONGS
I am very curious to see the song list for both games...
Yea i can get persuaded easily (NOT LIKE THAT) like, i KNEW about GF before i played GH, and well GH just grew on me, so i would say it would happen to me if i don't try out IIDX first >_>

LOL I'm actually really interested to see how this will turn out, obviously with a lawsuit. Does anyone have any photos of an official controller? And I'm just waiting for that one TV show to say that beatmaniaiidx ripped off of dj hero..... again.

Not necessarily, Activision pays royalties to Konami for Guitar Hero, so if there's an infringement with DJ Hero, I don't see why Activision wouldn't do the same thing.

Ok, i have no info on both IIDX and this DJ Hero (only some), can someone do a compare/contrast on these games? Because i KNOW the somehow Activision will make the game 2x better than IIDX in SOME way (like they did with GH...although the controllers for the GH:AC have changed, including the decision of taking away the whammy bar(?) which is a huge "WTF?" in my part).

if the game is really going to be out I'll probably get it for reviewing. I just don't want to know how this game will be doing in the world. I mean GH already spoiled a lot of stuff. Ok true people are getting interest in music games and MAYBE some could get interest in playing real guitar or drums. But I thing it's less likely as the game is far too easy to be compared with playing the real musical instruments.
DJing...well. I guess DJs have to be pretty upset about IIDX being a DJ simulation game and if DJ Hero shows up to be similar to Beatmania I guess many other people will be like...wth? is this DJing? Am I DJ if I can play this game? blah blah.
Can't say anything about the game yet but I seriously wish that this won't be another hit like GH. ---- and if it does I hope that KONAMI will just stick to IIDX and will ignore the rest of the world having fun with DJ Hero.

Hey, you just gave me an idea that i think Activision might do IF they release DJ Hero...
...have the next future mix of GH be able to connect a DJ Hero controller and you would be able to play on either guitar or the DJ controller (probably on select songs though...like Linkin Park songs).

*sigh*...oh well, here's to hoping it will have at least a decent song list.UPDATE: DJ Hero's competition (Scratch: The Ultimate DJ) has given out five preliminary songs from the game, these songs are:
"Flashing Lights" - Kanye West
"Interglactic" - Beastie Boys
"Slacker" - Tech N9ne
"Don't Sweat The Technique" - Eric B. & Rakim
"Let's Get It Started" - The Black Eyed Peas
(the ones in bold are favorites for me)
The company also has stated that they will have more artists including The Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, Nelly, and Run DMC, as well as music from the upcoming solo album from Beastie Boy Mixmaster Mike, who is also providing creative and technical support for the game.
...So far Scratch has 1, DJ Hero 0 (for me). >_>

I'm actually pretty interested in Scratch. Looks like there's a more focus on turntablism, which goes well with the button mashing of IIDX
