"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
I've been getting pretty bored lately, and I haven't been able to find any good anime to watch. Someone help me out?

Here's some genres I like: Horror, 'Psychological' (I.E. Anime that makes you 'think', like NGE and Paranoia Agent), Shounen-Ai (You know it Puppy Face), and...other stuff.

Here's an example of some of the stuff I like for further information: Paranoia Agent, NGE, Gravitation, Jigoku Shoujo, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (NOT Kai though), Papa to Kiss in the Dark, Death Note (Partly because L is so dreamy~), Haruhi (Partly because Koizumi is so dreamy~).

So yeah Puppy Face~.

i can't think of any horror anime lately because I'm mostly into comedies and such. Lately, I've been watching "Special A", and I like it. It's a nice balance of comedy and romance. I've also been watching "Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu", about an ultra-popular high schooler who's a closet otaku.

As for the horror/psych thriller front, I'd recommend "Witch Hunter Robin"

elfen lied is one of my faves.

Its not horror, but if you have not seen any of these, I suggest you do since they are very popular...
Kanon
Air
Lucky Star
The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya
Shakugan No Chana

I also enjoyed Baldr Force alot, its only 4 episodes, but it was like the Matrix.

Bleach is a good show. I like Shōnen stuff, except for Naruto (Was a fan of it, but it just got really boring after 100 episodes Neutral)

Stay away from anything 4Kids or CWKids dubs, unless you like crappy voice actors & cheesy puns

One anime that I like a LOT (even though its only 6 episodes long so i guess it's more like an OVA) is FLCL, aka Fooly Cooly or Furi Kuri. Very VERY strange and chaotic, but also very deep as well.

...

Bleach is good too Tongue

So is Death Note, but I see you already like it...

Air Gear, I've heard, is good. Good lookin characters, pretty decent storyline, cheesy skates on steroids, what more could you ask for? Big Grin

I've been recently absorbed by a sports anime called Eyeshield 21. Pretty awesome storyline, good lookin characters (and a wide variety of them personality-wise), and really cheesy but quite funny omake eps. I recommend those two for the time being.
So in my brief return, I am going to slowly but surely work on a new simfile mix called TEMPEST. Still workin' on it. Preview -->

...and...other stuff.
I recommend Girl Next Door and Koihime. Both are hot, have their respective moments of cuteness and humor, and actually had enjoyable storylines that consisted of more than just...

"I'm here to deliver this pizza."
"I hope it came with extra sausage..."

Eh, I like Naruto but I try to hide it sometimes. Annoying weeaboos make me feel ashamed to enjoy that show. This is probably really pathetic sounding...

Anyway, not exactly one of the anime types you listed, butGuyver is one of my favourite animes. It's more a sci-fi show which also stems from few influences from toku shows.
The recent TV series is what you want to be after...

I'd recommend:
Lucky Star
Azumanga Daioh
Hellsing
FLCL
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Elfen Lied
Witch Hunter Robin
Love Hina
Death Note

Something outta nowhere: Powerpuff Girls Z (surprisingly good for an anime based on an American property, though kinda long (52 eps)
For blatant fanservice: Girls Bravo

Sorry to wake a old thread... But I feel like jumping right in.

For shounen-ai (I can't believe you actualy like it! XD), I only know Gravitation and Loveless, which I believe you have only watched.

My list of favorite anime is very little. But the only anime/manga title I like is... *shy*

D.Gray-Man. ^^;

It's like 102 (103 is released, soon to have a sub and it's the final episode before a break...?) episodes right now. So it's freaken huge. But I enjoyed it to bits. Oh! And it's a (popular) Shounen (Jump) anime. =w=

I also like you to see "Katekyo Hitman Reborn". My sister went gaga for it. And it's also a Shounen (Jump) anime... ^^;;;

AND "The Melocholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". Though I should watch that one of those days. *stabs self*

Hey! There is nothing wrong with man-on-man action!

Ever heard of the anime called Fake? The one about the two cops? Personal favorite. Absolute yum!

I'm all up for some man-on-man action mostly because it's more romantic than animes with guy-girl or love triangle relationships.

And like pie said:

I dunno, maybe.

I haven't watched Fake as the artwork didn't really do much for me, and I heard the final episode is the only one where it gets good. Might watch it one of these days though.

And yeah, I'm mostly up for more of the fluff stuff rather than the 'zomg let's hump' stuff. I can honestly see why girls who are into romantic stuff would be more into guyxguy anime/manga than guyxgirl anime/manga. My friend has a freaking huge collection of manga, she's a total sucker for romantic stuff, and her favorite stuff happens to be shounen-ai. Why? Because the Shounen romance stuff is basically a reason to show lots of half-naked girls in a hot spring and oh yeah, there's some actual romance once every few issues. Not that the Shoujo stuff is much better, a lot of them seem to be plagued with the 'hinting at romance more and more every issue and then on the last issue we basically imply that they're in a relationship now'. One author exception that I know of is Yuu Watase. Ayashi no Ceres is actually pretty packed with romance, but even some of her work is lacking (Imadoki! and Alice 19th are two that I remember not getting too good until the last issue). I heard she made a pretty explicit Yaoi manga haha, I should check it out one of these days.

J-Dramas do the exact same thing actually, now that I think about it. I just watched two series recently that aired on a local channel out here (Haken no Hinkaku and Joshi Deka!) and they both had great stories, but one huge flaw: big big hints at a relationship blooming between one of the main female characters and one of the main male characters that never get fulfilled (In Haken no Hinkaku, the girl ends up being hired as a Haken under the guy, but there's not even an implication that they ever get together despite there being very big romantic tension between them. In Joshi Deka!, right when you think that Hatekeyama and Jiwon are about to get together, Jiwon suddenly announces that he's going back to Korea). The whole anti-climatic thing really just bugs me.

Anyways, it's 1AM and I've been ranting pretty nonsensically. So let's make this post worthwhile.
