Honestly, this song is way too good for what I managed to chart this week. It was a lot harder to pick out what rhythms to layer and I didn't have as much time as I thought to polish the charts; I'll almost definitely work on this more in the future. I'm definitely making easier difficulties as well, the layering of rhythms is complex enough that my steps almost certainly won't feel "correct" for some people. Will make graphics for the future too!

The edit chart is a less musically accurate chart with a lot of footswitches in the second half, if you're into that (it was my original idea when I first heard the song).

- In case you're wondering what time signature is, Wikipedia got you covered, poi.
- Your song must had a time signature that isn't 4/4 for at least 4 consecutive measures, poi. Examples of non 4/4 time signature: 3/4, 5/4, 7/8.
- Please, no cheesing by adding an unnecessary slowdown/speedup on a 4/4 part and call it a non 4/4, poi! If we found out that you're cheesing the rules poi, we'll poi you away with our our twenty-centimeter cannons and disqualifying your poi entry in process, poi~

LOL I suck, and that's kinda what I get for spending no more than 2 hours on the entire simfile

Anyway, Week 5 pack zip is here, and the download packs are also in my signature.

Because of a vacation trip, I will not be able to participate in Week 6 or 7, so you will need to download the pack manually, or hopefully someone else can host it. I will be back for the last 3 rounds, and maybe even the 3 VIP rounds given my track record, probably not

I'll definitely take 4th but tbh the well synced gradual speedup and slowdown are probably what boosted it for you guys more than the steps themselves I'm pretty sure.

If you want a quick review of your file, I wrote some notes on a few of them so feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like those! Emphasis on "quick" and "few" for most of y'all; files were overall pretty good, so at the end it just came down to personal taste in music and stepping style.

Like last week I'll be streaming myself judging [Wind Jammers] files in a bit, hopefully in the next 10 minutes or so! If that Light Up My Love!! in your screenshot is the one from Cytus, that song isn't eligible for this week - it's entirely in 4/4 time. Read the Wikipedia article Daffa linked to.

If you need examples of some non 4/4 time signatures, here's a few song examples I dug up:

3/4 - Windy Fairy, by DJ TOTTO
5/4 - Leia, by yuyoyuppe - also uses some other time signatures including some wacky 11/4 sort of thing
7/4 - イザナミノナゲキ, by 猫叉Master (pro tip: if you're up to stepping breakcore, Venetian Snares is pretty much obsessed with 7/4 time.)

Remember to listen carefully to the music. Typically the start of each measure in a song is given extra emphasis - or stressed, as they say in musical terms - so it's a good idea to actually count the beats between each stressed note.
