"Two milkmen go comedy" |
Hello.
I felt that, due to some of the events that have occurred over the past few weeks, it wouldn't be a bad time to create a compendium of the best simfile charts from this community.
I was thinking about sorting it by volume. If it were up to me, I would make the first volume around Podium-level files- that is to say, a file that earned 3rd place or higher, with any of its flaws rectified.
However, it largely depends on what the community thinks. (I would limit people to 2-4 files per volume, depending on what each file brings to the table.)
One more thing- since this is about having the best charts, I would like for us to agree on removing extraneous charts (i.e. / files, unless they're important and manufactured to the same standards as // charts). However, I'm open to feedback regarding how to organize this compendium...

Do you think re-make simfiles making your own charts?

Well, I was thinking that people would nominate their own charts, provided that they themselves believe it represents their best efforts- while also working on improving their simfiles. I'm open to people nominating other's charts, but first I would prefer to have the permission of the original stepchart makers...

Not sure why you'd ever get rid of and charts. It makes a song look more complete than just having 2 or 3 difficulties.
That being said, I'd be willing to submit a file or two.

I don't think this is a good idea. I'm sure people would prefer to have their whole packs downloaded rather than sending one or two simfiles into a compilation.

I think this is a cool idea. I was honestly thinking of doing this with all of the simfiles from Tycoon, and if you want, I could submit every file that placed in the top 15% from each round to this pack. I might just end up making that pack by itself anyway.

Hmmmm alright I can throw some files in the ring. :P
As far as I know, these are my podium files:
*Rock the Club (however I need to make every chart this time as it was a ZIv Academy file)
*Saraba, Itoshiki Kanashimi tachiyo
*Overdose
*ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX
*CITRUS MONSTER
*Celebrate (Snail's House Remix)
This is higher than 4, so most likely I would go with Saraba, Overdose, ESM, and Citrus Monster. But it's a very close call. In fact, lower difficulties might ultimately decide this.

Some of my favorite/successful files didn't make it onto a Zenius -I- vanisher contest podium. I don't think throwing files here would be a loss for me. :P
Then again I'm developing a pack with over 100 songs that I want to step and be good and I can only nominate 4, so other people with smaller catalogs might not think the same.

I was inspired by the sort of tournaments R21 freak used to hold. The purpose of this concept is to create a compendium of charts (as opposed to songs), so if you wanted to keep the lower level charts, please keep in mind that you're espousing those lower level charts as your best efforts to create an easier chart.
(I'll show everyone how I interpret this concept soon.)
What I would hope from this idea of mine is for something like this for all of the files.
All of the charts have been polished, and the old chart has been split into both a toned-down 8-footer and a more intense 10-footer.
(First, though, I would need a new simfile catagory...)
