Hey guys.

I need a help because is the first time that this happen to me.

When i'm making the "sample start" for my simfiles, the sample show wrong execution, For example the sample start for a song is 80.00 seconds (according to stepmania) and the moment of execution, stepmania shows a sample start that is not according with the established. i must change to 190.00 seconds to show me the correct sample start but i know is something that is wrong. How can I fix that?

I'm using both stepmania 3.9 and 5 with the same problem.

Sad

Try playing the song in Edit Mode. Do you notice any skipping, where the notes get off-sync with the audio? I noticed this a couple times when I was working with .mp3 audio files; some songs would lag by as much as four measures, and it affected the sample start as well. It seemed to go away when I switched to .ogg, so I would start with that and see if it fixes the problem.

Avoid using VBR mp3s. They have issues with any StepMania. Switch to VBR 192 kbps oggs.

Well I could fix the problem using ogg, but i don't understand why mp3 works bad. Anyway, thanks a lot.

mp3s are ok as long as they use CBR, not VBR. The latter has issue regarding sample preview.

CBR is Constant Bit Rate. VBR is Variable Bit Rate.
