I agree with this change. From the number of people who have singed up so far, narrowing it down to the top 5 would be tough.

Everyone that's signed up should be in now. Also I've up'd the amount of songs you can vote for from 5 to 10. 5 points is still the max amount you can give to a single simfile.

I'm a bit preoccupied with another project to comfortably submit (mostly because I'd want to make new charts for this), but can I vote without entering?
I have before with earlier comps but I want to make sure that's still cool.

So I'm not even an American, but this year's Coachella line-up seems pretty good.
9 (After Coachella) ft. MØ & SOPHIE by Cashmere Cat
- 1 / - 3 / - 6 / - 7

The custom .zip has .mp4 video and it does have bg changes so this is where the original .sm & .ssc files go.

Looks like it's time for me go full tryhard mode once again, and you know what that means:
nothing but the best K-Pop for the next four rounds.

Zenius -I- Vanisher is mostly to Comedy where the winner would come too, the enjoyable complete dance collection is knowable to the Storm, experience to the fired up contest at a value this good.

...
Anyway, I have many songs to choose from but I'm not sure which I should submit. There's over 28 I'm considering:
Three potential 7 footers
Eleven potential 8 footers
Nine potential 9 footers
Three potential 10 footers
Two potential 11 footers
There are a handful that I actually do have completed on my computer (about 4 or 5 in total), but the biggest question is will they stand the test of time and what will surely be a shit ton of good files in this contest?

After deciding to enter this contest I spent a lot of lot of time trying to think of what to step and started a few projects before scrapping them.
Saturday evening I realized something: I was spending so much time worrying about stepping something other people would like that I hadn't enjoyed stepping anything in the past year. So, I decided to throw caution to the wind and just step something that I enjoyed. That's not to say I'm not putting my best foot forward and not trying to at the very least score a few points, but more to say that my thought process through working on this song was "If other people enjoy it, that's fine. If other people don't enjoy it, that's fine too." And you know what? I had a lot of fun working on this song, for the first time in a long while.
Usually I'm a stickler for using official artwork when it's available but all the album art for this song I could find was lo-res and sad so I decided to blow the dust off the good old Photoshop. I know I'm not the best graphics guy out there but I'm proud of how the artwork on this one came out.

Sweet. If anyone wants me to give them a review, PM me once the voting period for the round begins (so next week for round 1's charts, etc).
Standard disclaimer: my reviews come for a more ITG-esque perspective, and will probably be sent to you around a weekend.
Good luck everyone!

Hphmmmmm.....
Ok. I chose this.
AUTOMATON / JAMIROQUAI
DOWNLOAD VIDEO
1/3/5/8 - X Scale: 2/4/7/11
I made an unofficial songlist called DDR XTREME (previous version to EXTRAMAX) and I added American songs however they are not included from the official simfiles so i had the opportunity to modified one and add it to this contest.

Hi. I'd like to poll the people of this contest:
How many of you play the files on an actual pad? (And how many use a keyboard for some reason or another?)
This may influence what file I decide to submit. (This was initiated from a conversation on Discord)

Not in the contest but I'll be voting. I play on keyboard with the 4 arrow keys and my index fingers so it's similar-ish to the play style on pad. I still have to do crossovers and other patterns that can be bs'd using more than two fingers. The down key being in line with the left and right instead of under makes it a bit different though; harder/more awkward to do crossovers actually.
Of course for contests I consider what it would be like to physically play the charts on pad.

I play pad for whatever is submitted to these contests unless I physically cannot play/pass it on pad.

That's why I use 2 4 8 and 6 on the number pad instead of the arrow keys. It makes for a much more accurate mini DDR pad.
If you're on a laptop or something that doesn't have a number pad, you're out of luck.
I've played on pad long enough to know what I find fun without having to play on an actual pad, so I do all of my judging on keyboard since it's quicker and less tiring. 99.9% of the time my opinion doesn't change once I finally get around to playing on pad.
