"I'm honestly pissed off."
I dunno about older versions, but you can find all the SM5 release dates by browsing the github releases page.

GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.

4.0 was technically never released, unless you count the prereleases, which ended in 2010 some time.

"What If You Had A Gun?"
The Sourceforge page for Stepmania lists the release date for 3.9 as November 4, 2005, and for 3 as October 23, 2000.

Thank you everyone so far. I just need to add roughly when StepMania 4.0 CVS & StepMania 4-Alpha-5 came out

The last build of SM 4 CVS came out on January 4, 2008, but there is really no distinction between it and the SM4 alpha series and I wouldn't consider them "seperate versions" of StepMania. I think 3.0 was later than 2000, though.

There are indeed two different types of StepMania 4. One of them used a System Zero based theme. The other used a bright and colorful theme. Just need to know when Alpha 5 came out. Wonder if FilePlanet is a good estimate: https://www.fileplanet.com/213037/210000/fileinfo/Stemania-4---Alpha-Build-5

The themes are different but they're essentially the same engine and were not considered different versions of StepMania by those who made them.

Fair enough, but is it possible to be sure when each were released? All I have is File Planet for Alpha 5, although that sounds about right.

The SM4 CVS date you have is the date of the last build. I know at the least there were regular releases from 2007 onward and possibly earlier.

Do you know when StepMania 4 CVS first came out with the System Zero theme?

Digging through commit logs suggests that it was probably in place by January 2006 or maybe even December 2005, but I don't know when the first nightly was released that had it. I still think breaking these versions down by theme is not the best way to do it.
