Hello, thanks for your feedback, I will try to check and fix the bugs soon.

This theme got some updates:

- Fixed timer font/position.
-Added function to calculate initial lives based on number of taps and holds of the song.
-Added combo underfield theme option.
-Center master player in Single mode.
-Added bgm for evaluation screen.
-Updated select course screen to use banners/bg.
-Various coding/fixes.

For some reason, I can't change the difficulty on this theme by double-tapping the up/down arrow keys. All I change is the acceleration of the song. How can I fix this?

Check your keymapping, acceleration changes are mapped to the menu buttons, not the pads

The same thing happened to me but I found a solution to this:

Within metrics.ini change the following

CodeNames="SpeedUp,SpeedDown"
CodeSpeedUp="MenuUp"
CodeSpeedDown="MenuDown"

to

CodeNames="SpeedUp,SpeedDown"
CodeSpeedUp="Up"
CodeSpeedDown="Down"

I know that this is pretty much the reverse of how MGD3 handles it.
But since I don't know why else it behaves like this, it's the only way forward currently.

Also: My keybindings on it are on default.

I've added the fix from DarkBahamut162 as a theme option to avoid editing the files, theme updated. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm extremely casual when it comes to scoring in dance games and I'm quite happy to see this theme ported to SM5. I've been hoping to find something that would enable the simple HIT/MISS kind of gameplay.

The theme is updated again with some fixes from DarkBahamut162 here is his changelog:

-Switching "FullScreen" with the "scale_or_crop_background" at places where Song BGs are being displayed (FullScreen as well as the original 4:3 were being displayed overlaying each other on widescreen before that change).
-Remove "BlendMode_Add" on song intro as that's not how the original did it.
-Fixing "failed_shadow" on the fail animation as it appears to early
-Changing ScreenSelectMusic BGs into song and folder variant and letting them both switch if non-song/song is selected on both 4:3 AND 16:9 (I know that's not how MGD did it, but it just looks way better to me that way)
-Changing visibility on some ScreenSelectMusic displays on the right side.
-Changing song title to "No Song Selected" on folder selection
-Turning song title red on songs with an insane difficulty as well as their display panel row
-Setting lives correctly on insane songs (70) and nonstop songs (5)
-Setting up minimum (10), maximum (60) and increments (5) for lives auto calculation
-Make the percentage score disappear that gets displayed over the lives counter during gameplay

Thanks so much for the help and the feedback, I've planned some other updates in the future when I have some more free time.

Okay... Since my changelogs were getting copypasted over here either way, I'm doing this myself:

- The following metrics have been inserted and set to "TapNoteScore_W4" to simulate the hit notes gotten from highscores in the profile: MinScoreToContinueCombo, MinScoreToMaintainCombo, MinScoreToKeepLife
- The Hit Notes Calculation in the Evaluation screen now excludes TapNoteScore_W5/TapNoteScore_Miss (they aren't getting included when pulling RadarCategory_TapsAndHolds in said highscores in the profile for total notes comparison).
- ScreenLawsuit's NextScreen has been set to ScreenTitleMenu instead of ScreenLogo
- Most cmd code has been switched over to function(self)*
- Course's bg has been changed to Fullscreen
- Course's Artist has been changed to "Programmed by *insert scripter pulled from course file*"
- Widescreen Folder graphic has been fixed (because of noticeable gradient cutout).
- Starting MGD animation on StageInformation has been fixed by setting zoomy to Screen_Height (it remained just a line before this fix)
- Said animation has been created along others as additional fade outs for other screens (including insta-whiteout on song selection)
- The black out field in shared_main has been commented out as it's not how the original was supposed to look like
- Screen cancel has been added as said fade out never happened before this.
- Fixed shared_main's positioning during song selection as it didn't appeared centered.
- ScreenSelectStyle now has correct animations and highlighting (pulled from OG files)

*I don't really know why this is "needed" but since I've seen it happening to some other themes as well, I made the same thing here.
Could anybody explain to me this cmd to function(self) thing? My assumption is: Performance

The files have been sent over and might need a while to become active.
And I'm still not done with this as I'm missing some other things that needs changing...

EDIT:
Just changed some things with the BPM display:
Fixed BPM display by centering the graphic as well as it's placements
Added maxwidth and set display to left because of possible crazy BPMs (like x-aria's Benchmark DWI)
Added ? to the BPM Font if BPMDisplay=*

I also changed the difficulty number display to center because of potentially high set difficulties (like x-aria's Benchmark DWI)
And then there is the TitleMenu animations to the selected menu text that I added as well.

EDIT2:
Should have waited since I not only missed a certain folder & file from the second batch of fixes but I also fixed some other stuff as well:

- Added "(doubleres)" to the MusicList titles font graphic and adjusted all zoom/maxwidth values of it being applied
- Gave the combo display in ScreenEvaluationNormal/Summary a maxwidth to the maximum length of four (4) digits
- Automatically sets and displays speed upon returning to ScreenMusicSelect
- Added AttackMines(true) to everything else being force-applied in ScreenStageInformation
- Added animations to the menu in ScreenTitleMenu

I don't know what still needs to be done, but I keep my eye out for it either way...

You know what?
Since some of my stuff hadn't been added to the OG github, I went over and jorked it and added all and some more changes there myself.
This includes Two Player Functionality and potential others I don't remember from the top of my head...
Also: Everything I'm doing on the fork (as well as for what I did here) is with OutFox in mind. I don't know (or care) about 5.0/5.1.
