I just bought a Euromix 2 cab with Extreme on it, And i can't seem to find a Coin Options menu. ( i want to put it on Event mode if there even is one.)
Also i don't know what "Initialize" does in the Unlock Codes section (I can't find it on google, and i don't want to try it before i know what it does.)

Any info, or am i just not looking hard enough?

The initialize in the Unlock Codes would most likely erase them back to the default setting with zero unlock codes inputted. So I highly suggest to leave that alone and never go near it.

Then that wouldn't matter for me, since unlock codes reset when i turn off the machine.
(...Is there a way to fix that?)

I believe that's a problem with the hard drive. The machine in town doesn't save either the unlock codes or high scores. If anyone knows how to fix this, I'd like to know as well.

So for one thing, it doesnt have a hard drive if its a 573, the cd supplies all the data but basically from what i remember one of the eeprom chips eventually forgets to save scores/unlocks after a certain time and needs replacing? I never had to do it when i owned a cabinet so it's not something i can personally help with.

Coin options should just be in the operator menu, if you want event mode set it to free play, highlight game mode (or whatever option it is to return to the title i cant remember) hold the button that inserts a credit and press start, it'll turn on event mode which disables the timer and extra stage and enables a quick reset combination.

Initialise unlocks just resets the unlocks back to default, when you put the unlock code in it'll say registration in big red letters to indicate its worked, just leave the menu after that.

Hopefully someone can help you with the whole battery backup not staying between powering down though, i know how irritating it is having to put codes in only on a semi regular basis as it is.

Thanks! This helps alot. It's just that if i'm not there, then people can't play with unlocks. (which is no problem since most people around here don't play the machine.)

one thing i do want to know is why it doesn't save scores (even if i don't turn off the machine.) Is it because of the reason listed above or is a memory card slot mandatory?

I mean, what scores were you expecting it to save? Extreme only has scores for pop4 on nonstop and dancemania oni I believe ? So unless you play those specific courses it’s not gonna offer you a name entry screen. But yeah if the games battery is failing it won’t save those between power downs either unfortunately!

Although if you do have memory card slots installed you can use a memory card to save scores (with some weird restrictions) but those are kinda rare to find

Nah i just wanted to know why it didn't save scores, but it's just by default i guess. what a shame.

That means the RTC-RAM battery on the board is dead. You'll have to desolder the old one offand solder a new one on the board, unless the previous owner put a socket on to plug it in (which is probably not the case).
