So I had this thought for a long time that I should get an arcade going because there's literally no Music game in Canda and I am so boreeeeeeeeed.Sad
I am from China and back in China, there's a kind of arcade(not really) which, they put arcade machines/controllers in their rented apartment suite because of reasons(mostly legal Issues) with sound-proof system and pay the fee by hours, so I was thinking about doing the same thing too.
Is there anybody interested? Because I'm a college student who only has part-time job so if I'm gonna make an arcade I do need help (both financial and Manpower).

The name of Arcade will be USAGI, which translate into english as rabbit, another way to call my favorite bemani composer TOTTO

The game I'm thinking about are : Sound Voltex, Jubeat, Pop'n Music, Dance Evolution, Taiko and possibly Groove Coaster and Beat Stream.

Anyone interested?

A RAY OF HOPE!! Finally someone who wants to open an arcade with real, imported Japanese games in the city, let alone the province.
I'm not able to provide support, but I have high hopes!!

MAKE IT HAPPEN!

(But where do you plan to open it in the city?)

Just for convenience, I'll open it around at least somewhere that's close to any subway station so that it'll be easy to find and access.
Also Ubereats and such will be SUPPORTED

Great.

I suggest it should be opened late nights as well. Hosting tournaments is optional.

(Also Groove Coaster is a must, but crossbeats REV. SUNRISE can be a maybe.)

TBH, the real problem is if I can get the copy of game or not (assume you know why it's hard to get the game itself), plus even if I get the game, games like crossbeats which must have an internet connection will not work most likely, and while groove coaster is easy to get the game copy, it will still be offline and without something like paseli, it can't read player profile thus resulting in only a few songs that are unlocked by default can be played (unless I can decrypt the file and change the settings), plus the gc console is HUGE so I'm not sure if it'll fit + I don't know where I can get it. There's always an option to play GC2OS on iPad, same goes to Jubeat and Reflec Beats, I did purchase all the songs and I have some of the arcade exclusive songs installed (don't ask me where I got it), so you're welcomed if you want to play them on my iPad as a temporary substitute.

On the bright side, most of BEMANI Music games do have internet services which means you can save your player data as long as it's under the same service provider and all the songs (include songs that require unlocking) are unlocked by default.

Oh and don't worry about time, open 24/7.

Are you planning to have this room in a wider and taller space?

(Also, how does the payment work exactly?)

If you mean the Groove Coaster, it'll just be in a separate room. But still, in comparison to something like sound voltex or Reflec Beat it take up considerably large space in comparison, and there's only so much room in an apartment suite so it really depends on space management so I can stuff it inside the suite.

Price will be count in hours, as far as now I'm considering 10$/hr, so if u play 1 hour u pay 10$ and if 4 hours u pay 40$. And if you want to spend the night at the Arcade which is an option available, you get night discounts after a certain time (probably 11 pm to 8 am or something), and pls don't hesitate to tell me if it's too expensive or such since it's my first time doing this sort of things.

Does it necessarily need to be in an apartment? Not all of us want to rent an apartment spot just to have a shot.

Well you see it's more about legal issue which I mentioned, most of the game should not be played out of Japan theoratically, so it'll be troublesome if I opened an actual arcade/shop and get caught. Other rhan the possible financial penalty Konami will very likely heard about the accident and prohibit the release of game copy. If that happened then we'll no longer able to get/play any Music game anymore other than simulators. In fact it happened once in China, althought they barely found a way around it, such thing should never happen again. Just some planning ahead so sorry for the inconvinience but I have no choices other than put it in an apartment.

I fear that this limits the amount of people that are able to use the cabinets.
