Pretty sure the new hardware is required for CANNON BALLERS, otherwise Konami would just have done an online update like they did for Sinobuz. Though for the USB camera attachment, who knows.

If you say your arcade is getting it on Tuesday, that might be the time range it starts arriving at Round1s around the country.

It's confirmed that the machine errors out if the cameras are not attached

Maybe it could mean that the IIDX machines that haven't been given TLC (like the one at R1 Moreno Valley) will finally get fixed along with the new hardware being installed. One can hope, anyway!

Ohh, thanks for all the responses thus far guys, it all makes Sense now! Since that new hardware is mandatory, receiving and installing it likely required around an additional week of waiting unlike the previous games, which were just updated online. In any case, I'll be checking tomorrow, but I'm planning on arriving there early, haha!

It's a nice addition, however, I wonder if there's a way to not completely replace the song videos with the camera recordings...guess we'll find out more soon.

Minor correction: Only Sinobuz has been an online update so far. Round1 took two weeks to get copula when it was released, so the wait here is around the same. I suspect future IIDX releases will be online updates though, since Cannon Ballers was a special case with the hardware upgrade.

But didn't we all think that with the HD upgrade with Tricoro? Who know what Konami will do in the future that'll require a hardware upgrade.

Heard and seen all the default stuff at last.
The charts in this game are harder than previous recent versions, imo.
Great default songlist and charts, though some charts could have added a bit more notes like in acidiva, but that's rather minor.

I like everything minus Mira, AA -rebuild-, The Chase, and three others that were not memorable.
Really enjoyed stuff like Freedom, Static State, and Exhaust Hype to name a few.

Way better than Sinobuz and a step in the right direction, despite all the bemani sound team nonsense.
Hoping to see more cool things from this game in the future.

Finally played the machine today, and man I had a motherfucking blast! The hardware upgrades are very apparent, as it looks like the monitor was either modified or reinforced on each side, as the card reader is now in a lower position, its previous position being replaced by the side camera. I love the system music, the announcer (my new favorite, he's so funny and entertaining to listen to); the interface is super cool and totally fits the new racing theme, and finally the music....lets just say I spent around $15 (that's around a month's worth of INFINITAS) today; I had to restrain myself from spending more, haha! The default song list is very strong; I'd say it's stronger than even copula's! Lots of awesome music like Midnight Lady and that Cookie song. The new OVERDOSER remix is also really cool and pays homage to BM I, however I still love SLAKE's Flotage Mix. Oh yeah, and the new VEFX are pretty cool, shoutout to the Compressor for making songs sound even more epic! Lastly, I tried the cameras out...quality looks around 480p with some latency.

These are the easiest 9 and 10 dan song lists I've ever seen.
Thought the point of dan mode was to challenge the player, not hand it to them.

implantation is hard (sort of...?) but azisai is one of the easiest 12s (in my opinion) so you get to go into implantation with 100% dan bar, so its no problem basically. fire fire and broken sword, i can see how those might be hard for some players but they're certainly far easier than gaia, gravigazer, and obviously colorful cookie.

in my opinion, scripted connection A mix is certainly hard, but sampling paradise really tests all aspects of the game, rapid scratching, backspin, charge, etc etc, its all there. whereas i don't think this is the case with scripted connection A mix which is certainly hard but i think its fair to say "straightforward"

will they change kaiden also?

There's a very real possibility that they'll put Mare Nectaris in Kaiden. That's a future I don't want to imagine, frankly.

Actually, I was thinking; what if these easier 9dan and 10dan track lists mean we're getting another new difficulty at the highest levels? Like either before or after Chuuden. I doubt this would actually happen given that Chuuden was only added in copula, but it's a thought.

Most likely before Chuuden. Chuuden and Kaiden have been solid in difficulty.

Not yet, I don't think. Mare Nectaris isn't yet available for play without having had it unlocked first, a song that needs to be unlocked hasn't been used in the dan courses yet (not counting INFINITAS, where this was unavoidable).

Puente Hills Mall Round1 got something Cannon Ballers-related shipped in, which as the label helpfully indicates, isn't an LDJ kit.

For anyone asking, Puente Hills Round 1 is the main hub for all the round 1s here in the states so all the kits will be shipping to there then they will ship out to all Round 1's from there. So exciting! Can't wait to finally play CB.
