Just wanted to make a thread on here in hopes of attracting some attention towards the arcade we've got here in Biloxi, MS. Margaritvaille Resort opened last fall and features a Pump It Up Infinity TX cab in very great condition.

I'd love to see more players here as the group of buddies I normally play with are typically busy or generally don't play as often/long as I do. I typically play charts rated between 10 and 16 but I can go up to 20 if I'm really warmed up and feeling it. I'm also really into doubles charts and routines.

I've noticed that there are some high scores on the machine here for charts rated 20-24 and I have no clue who these players are but I'm guessing they are out of state visitors since Margaritaville Resort tends to get that a lot. In any case, if you live in the area or nearby, we'd love to see some more Pump players over here! You can usually find me playing every Wednesday evening and most Fridays/Saturdays.

Yo! I'm that dude usually coming in looking like he's from the office wearing the Maliwan jacket and Nightmare before Christmas hat, playing S8-13. Heck, I just finally got an A on VV and set the MR for Pine Nut S13.

But yea, I try and get out there on a Wednesday or weekend at least once or twice a month. Heck, I'll be there tomorrow after I check in on Games, Inc. and Cypress Lanes to see how the PIU0 and DDRX repairs are going. I talked with First Amusement, and they started repairs Wednesday, and the manager at Games, Inc want us to come over and see what additional work that old cab needs.

Anyways, keep me posted, I'd love to hang and meet up with ya soon!

Is that so? Looks like I need to take that MR for Pine Nut S13 then lol. I'm honestly not sure that I've seen you before. Do you have a USB drive and username you use on the machine? Mine is zeioIIDX. I used to go on Wednedays since it's half-price but there are FAR too many players that crowd the machine that day so I've started coming during odd/random times.

Wait, are they actually repairing the DDR X cab? I used to play on that 8 years ago when it was in great condition. I tried to get Cypress Lanes to lease a DDR X2 cab back then but they didn't care. I'm in talks right now with Margaritaville Resort and Kyle Ward to hopefully get a StepManiaX over here. Kyle said March will bring about a different version of the cab that can be used in amusement/entertainment spots since the current version is mainly for fitness centers. Kyle also gave me some promotional material I can hand out to the local fitness centers to try to get them to look into purchasing a machine. Hell, I'd get a gym membership to be able to play StepManaiX. I need to hit the gym anyway lol.

That's awesome that you play in the range of S8-13. That tends to be my sweet spot but I can go as high as S20 and D18 depending on the intensity and whether I'm warmed up. I generally hover around S9-S15 though. No one else around here other than one person plays at my level so it'll be nice to have a rival! If you're gonna be there tomorrow at Margaritaville, I might head out late tomorrow night around 8pm or 9 pm. Not sure if you'll be out that late but the arcade is open until 1am on Friday I believe. I'll PM you my Kik/Snapchat if you've got that so we can go play sometime if tomorrow doesn't work out!

Heh, perfect, I need that back and forth to prep for when I play DDR A! I just recently started playing seriously on Infinity, and had been seeing the name a bit, so while I was looking for DDR X unlock codes and Kon referred me here, I figured I’d poke around and...well hi! Also, oh god finding a USB drive that worked properly took forever. Now, I use a damn iPod Nano for my profile, then AM.NET/eAmuse for the newest stuff when I play at D&B/R1 (normally either D&B Poydras for P2018, and R1 Grapevine/D&B Dallas for DDR A).

Funny thing about Wednesdays, I come in for doing AP, especially on QuickDrop, Goal Line Rush, Zombie Snatcher, and others. Hell, that’s how I got the GoPro I use for recording DDR/Pump now. So, I still play on some Wednesdays, and try to help some of the other players who actually want to get into it. (Not to mention the casuals who leave after the first song and just don’t realize they have more to play. Practice makes marvelous/superb!)

And yes! I did too, heck, I played on 5th Mix, MAX/MAX2, Extreme, and SN/SN2 when they had them at the Grand Casino Gulfport/Biloxi, and then post Katrina, Beau Rivage. I started joking that those Grand Casino machines are still out there...somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

But yea, I chatted with the folks as CL, and they claim to have talked with the vendor to get it fixed, and it never happened. So, after finding out that the machine was owned by First Amusement in Gulfport, I left them a voicemail last Friday and explained everything wrong with the machine, and lo and behold, they called me back the next day, and we chatted for a good 30 minutes about what all needs to be done, parts availability, mods, Unlock Codes, the state of RTG/arcades on the coast, etc. Additionally, I’ll be headed out to Games, Inc. today to talk with the owner since they’re looking at picking up a DDR machine. If their budget is right, maybe they could snag that SMX cabinet, or even just an ITG dedicab.

Gods, I’ve so been looking forward to the results of both Impulse and SMX, despite my want to build a home pad (no load cells, at that point I’m better off waiting for Impulse due to cost.) I hope that we can start getting folks out of the woodwork and playing again, and having a strong presence at Margaritaville could be the ticket. Tournaments or meet and greets there or at Coastcon could help spark interest again, help people learn how to start playing for real, show off some various stuff via SM, KSM, and some other music games we can throw into the gaming area like Voez, Cytus, or Arcaea via iPad. (Heck, I think I know what I’m gonna shoot for during my next D&B AP trip. An iPad Pro just for music games!)

Anyways, we can certainly chat more later tonight.

Man, I can't even count the amount of times that casual players either swipe EVERY single time a song ends or the ones who swipe and leave after the first song. Last week, it happened so much that I literally did not pay for a single game for the 4 hours I played. It was nice. I mean I did tell a few of them they didn't need to swipe after every song or that they have 3 songs total but they still walked off lol.

I met Kon a few times back in the day, I'm from Chicago so I used to play at GameWorks where he played at often. That's crazy about the iPod Nano lol. I can't win tickets for crap. Most I got from there was a secret "stash your valuables in here" Spam can which was sweet. But a GoPro? Dang.

I got here in 2009 when I was in the Air Force so I used to play on SuperNOVA at the Beau all the time. They got a PIU Prime a while back, brand new. But got rid of it. They refused to increase the volume and the pads were total crap for some odd reason despite being brand new. It's awesome coming across someone active in the community who wants to bring awareness to the fact that this area sucks for rhythm games and that people around do want them. Years ago, you couldn't go to an arcade without spotting a DDR Extreme cab or two. Now? Not so much. It's sad.

That is AMAZING what you did with First Amusement. I know someone who might possibly be willing to part with his DDR SuperNOVA cab. He was considering selling it last summer but I haven't spoken to him in a while and have no idea whether he still needs the cash. Plus since it would still be local, he'd be able to play on it whenever if he sold it to Games, Inc. I worked on his machine a bit and made the screws in the panels flush so it has more of an ITG 2 dedicab feel (not quite, but almost). I've spoken with the bowling alley on Keesler AFB about their arcade years ago. They almost bought a DDR X2 cab. Spoke with Cypress Lanes about getting an X2 years ago too. And now I'm in talks with Margaritaville Resort to hopefully get a PIU Prime 2 or StepManiaX machine. I'd love if they got NeonFM as well, that game seems insanely fun (I'm a big IIDX fan) but I've only played the mobile version.

I'm still not sure what I wanna do...when I get the cash. I like Kyle Ward and his stuff so I'm more inclined to get the StepManiaX pad with the bar because I've followed the progress of that for years and seen so many people say how much they love the pad. But I'd want the whole game, not just one pad haha. The Impulse pad does look nice too but that bar is so odd looking. I don't know, either one seems light years ahead of my Red Octane Afterburner and it would be nice to play at home again.

Unfortunately, I can't head out tonight like I thought I'd be able to :/ Which sucks. I'm free tomorrow night or Sunday night though as well as pretty much whenever this week so hopefully one of these other days will work out for you as well and we can play some Pump. If not, I'm completely free next weekend and the week after that since my daughter will be visiting her mother for the weekend/week.

By the way, I hope you have Splatoon 2 for the Switch because I see you added your friend code so.....lol.

Yep! It's quite a trip watching people, and most of the time when I'm waiting, I'll tell them they still have songs to play, and they're like "Nah, it's good, we wanna watch you play!" -shrug- Fine~

After getting a streak of good luck at the casinos, I stopped while I was /well/ ahead, and switched to arcades. S'definitely been fun to play on skill and pick up some CS games for the trouble. I'm about to get either a second Switch for resale, or an XB1 for myself from D&B, but I might save that for actual games, and snag an XB1 from Margaritaville instead. And yea, I told Beau the same thing, but because it was serviced by Namco, they only came on Tuesdays and never did anything to that cab. T'was disheartening, and I didn't have the balls to escalate up the chain. As for First Amusement, the owner seemed quite happy to know someone still wanted to play the game, so I just have to be patient with that one.

As for the PIU Zero machine at Games Inc, the manager fought against getting it in her store because the same group services The Grand both here and in Houma, and she knew exactly how crap that machine is. According to her, there were a grand total of 4 people who came in; a couple who tried to play, screamed that it was crap, and stormed off, you, I presume, who just got tokens, played it, and walked out, and then made the notes on the directory, and/or one other person who preemptively said on FB "hope it's not the broken one!" I sat down and chatted with her, found out how the company works, and the plans (she's gonna try and learn how to fix it up [in part thanks to me finding some good tutorial videos for how to fix it] since they only have one overworked tech who mostly handles all of the unmanned arcade locations they handle) to either get Zero working, or if it turns into a sunken cost issue, get rid of it and try to get a better machine. She trying to get some info about their budget so we can help them look for a good machine.

As for new machines, barring the impossible (oh god give us Sound Voltex), yea, PIU Prime 2, SMX, or NeonFM would certainly be nice, as would ReRave! I got to play that at NewYorkNewYork in Vegas last year and it was super killer. The ITG2 cab at CircusCircus was nice too. But man, they'd be well served just snagging a Supernova machine. It's 3G + freight on eBay right now for what seems like a decent one. I'm still split on the choice of pads, as I feel like either would be awesome. I do like the idea of having a more AC-like platform, but I also have to think about storage.

Tonight or next weekend is fine with me. I'll be doing dinner around 6, so I can be out there around 8 tonight. Also, let's either swap phone numbers or Discord handles. Snapchat is about to drive me up a wall. XD

3k is too much for a Supernova cabinet.

Does anyone still play music games in this area? I don't live here anymore, but I ended up not seeing anyone into music games there for over a year because people either retired from them, left, or lack of cabs drove everyone to just not play much. I was back in the Gulf Coast recently and it was as dead as ever, though I'm not sure how many people come out to play at least Pump regularly. It'd be cool from at least a distance to see some sort of community pop up there again. A city like New Orleans could benefit from a Round1, honestly.

They'll never put a Round1 anywhere near here. Don't see it happening. I keep begging KaW to drop a StepManiaX cab at Margaritaville Resort and I've been in talks with management there for so long as well as Kyle but they continue to buy ticket games and bullshit "spinny rides" for little kids so...

I have not played regularly since August because I was finishing up earning my second degree and also had temp full custody of my daughter but now that it's back to joint custody, I have been going every once in a while. There's no crowd anymore. Used to be me, Chris, Victor, Andrea, Christian, Paul, Peter, Sonny, Tiana, Kyo, Melody, John, and quite a few others who'd be here any given night. Anytime I go now, it's basically just me. I'll occasionally see Tiana but for personal reasons, I don't play with her anymore. Basically all the scores on the machine belong to me, Catoxis, and Chris (Domo). No one else really plays.

And since I still need to go ahead and lose 60lbs, my back, ankles, and right knee plus my stamina are screwed and I can barely play a few rounds before getting sore and having my energy depleted. Which means I never play at the level I used to before I stopped playing in August. I was playing S16-S20 and D15-D18 semi regularly but now I take it easy and I'm down to playing mostly S9-S15 and D7-D13. Kinda blows.

Dusto sold his cab and Josh is long gone so the only 4-panel games around here would be the broken DDR X at Cypress Lanes and the DDR Extreme in the mall which...is playable but...not worth it. Neither is the PIU Zero in the mall. My friend works at the Beau Rivage arcade and they even just remodeled it but she told me they don't plan on getting any music games in the future because the staff were annoyed at people playing the DDR SuperNOVA and PIU Prime machines because of the "noise" so that's why they got rid of them. Annoyed

Unless we miraculously get a Round1 around here or Margaritaville Resort buys some new music games like they claimed they would 2-3 years ago, we've got nothing other than PIU Infinity for the time being. I even tried getting them to buy NeonFM so we could have some variety (think Pop 'n + IIDX). No dice. Whatever though, I'm content with Infinity so I will continue playing that every so often until I save up for a StepManiaX cab.

I've seen this arcade last year when I was there. (It was my first time visiting Escape).

I wish they had added Groove Coaster and DDR arcades there.
