Not much to say, since it's the first week. Congratulations to everyone who got points!
If it turns out that the leaderboard is based on actual votes (32pts to ddrstepper etc), I'll just update this post.

Just wanted to throw this out there but I doubt I'm submitting this week, I don't have the energy nor the backlog of songs to do 2 comps at once right now. Thus, I'd suggest not voting for me since the points would kinda fall into the void anyway since I might not get to voting either.

So with that I guess I'll do my personal breakdown of everything now:

I think this is the first comp here I've done to near-completion, there were 2 I did the first week or two of but real life got in the way both times, thankfully things were a bit more predictable for me but it turns out doing 8 weeks of charts in a row is really tough!

I feel like I've done far better than I had any right to, and I'm very pleased for such, especially kinda going blind/songless into a few rounds because my backlog sucks - I'm still trying to figure how to best stylize for here but that takes time. Of everyone, 01angel, Loodee, and chewi stood out as people I've come to appreciate more chart wise personally.

(Specifically in regards to chewi I'm normally not a huge fan of ddr styling but he did really well with it to me this time around, the other two people I didn't know too much of their work beforehand but were nice surprises.)

Also loodee gets the double shoutout because he, ddrstepper, and the technical round streamers were all super useful for having reviews for me to pick their minds about, whether they be for a chart specifically or a stream.

So yeah fun times, hopefully simfile tycoon's staggered schedule will help me not crash at the end, best of luck VIPs and everyone then!

Yeah, the way this is worded seems kinda...off-putting to me. I mean, I don't see the problem with "all difficulties" or "a video included". To me those things show that you care about the presentation of a file. It looks more "official", one might even say. Plus, prior to this SC, full difficulties have been required, so veteran steppers are just accustomed to stepping lower difficulties.

As for the KPop aspect, that's only a fraction of steppers here, dude. The same can be said about EDM and Dubstep charts.

Not necessarily mad at the comment being made, but if you didn't wish for a discussion, you wouldn't have included that comment.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just meant that I've noticed a trend that most kpop charts in SC have all been paired with all the difficulties included and have a video as well. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, I do also appreciate the work required in putting those together (since I realized that as I was putting the video together). I agree it does look more official.

While everyone else is busy k-popping, I take my simfile game to Lithuania to end the contest~

I want to thank SZ64saulius for recommending this hilarious little ditty to me! It's a very obscure Lithuanian song from the 90s that I would've never discovered had it not had been for him back in January...And I wanted to end the Summer Contest with a "You Won't See This in DDR"-type song, and this weird song that sounds like chipmunks or minions are singing it is perfect

I didn't want to sacrifice quality for humor this round, so I tried to make the charts actually playable and fun while throwing in a bit of gimmicks like spins~

It was fun making these files for the contest and I'm excited to keep on making files with the special requests from T4G to step in between now and Simfile Tycoon!

I found gatr's post to be pretty funny, tbh. I still don't know why there are so many K-Pop files already this round, though (and I'm about to add another one, but that was my plan from the start).


For this song in particular, though, I actually didn't originally intend to step it for the VIP room, but seeing that I have real-life priorities to take care of and my original file wasn't going as well as I thought it would, I'll have to make do with this.
