This essay will appear on the next page! Laughing Out Loud

Hello, darlings (|[*'v'*]|) I would like to share my input on the rather shocking news vincentw delivered this afternoon:
Quote: vincentw
I also would like to announce that there will be no Simfile Shuffle 2017 (at least from me), for two reasons:
1. Next year is my final year of university, and I would really like to focus mainly on my studies and thesis.
2. A lot of people complain about the lack of contest diversity in Z-I-v. The same three contests recycled over and over does get old. Which is why I'd like to offer this opportunity to anyone else who have brilliant contest ideas that for the longest time have been left unexplored or just cut short. Go nuts!
Hopefully, when the contest comes back in the future, it will be much more fun than it has been in the past.

One final thing: does anyone have any suggestion on how to make this contest more enjoyable? Rule changes? New ideas? Anything? Don't be shy, just let it all out right here.
One suggestion that I will implement next Shuffle is making it last 8~10 weeks instead of 12. Currently leaning towards 8, but it might change later.

Other suggestions I might consider including in the Shuffle, from most to least likely, compiled from floating suggestions (especially in this thread):
- Lowering the minimum chart requirements to just one or two (e.g. one of BeginnerLightStandard and one of HeavyChallenge or something similar).
- Require some sort of justification for every vote, so there's at least some degree of credibility for all votes.
- A judging panel that accounts for 50% of the scores.
- Make it so that each voter can give out as many points as there are simfiles in the round (12 sims → 12pts to spread).
- Removing one veto from everyone who hasn't stepped anything in the first half of the contest. (My original idea of this is to give everyone who sign up after a certain date (like halfway through) only 1 veto to work with, but I think the one above covers it as well as ensuring people don't just sign up on Round A to guarantee two vetoes, then not submit anything to save up vetoes.)

My first reaction upon reading this was basically...this.
https://s29.postimg.org/8wycjdcyv/ezgif_2_f3acf8c8a2.gif

Okay, so Overly Dramatic Alt 2.0 was just being overly dramatic as usual, and I wasn't really *that* shocked. But, as a first-time shuffler, and a first-timer to simfile contests as a whole, I certainly was a little bit downhearted when I heard the news about there not being a Simfile Shuffle for 2017. The reason being is because I got really "into" the shuffle. The entire concept of sending in a song, and having a random person be assigned to step your song as well as getting assigned to step somebody randomly-chosen's song, really appeals to me. I discovered new songs, genres of music, and even experimented with newer techniques - and improved as a stepper - all thanks to the Shuffle. It's truly a remarkable contest, and while it has been done for years on end, I don't want it to go anytime soon...

Which is why I am interested in (POSSIBLY) being the host of the 2017 Shuffle. I hope this is not too much for me to ask for as a first-timer, but I honestly think I'd be good at it, and I like the new ideas - especially the judging panel and 8-week limit. If I were host, I would make a conscious effort to try and deliver the ratings posts and the shuffled lists on time. I'd also implement the majority, if not all, of the new rules (or at least the rules that y'all like) to shake things up and try to bring some new variety to the Shuffle. I really don't want there to be no Simfile Shuffle in 2017. Out of all the contests I've seen, even though this is only the first one I entered, this is my favorite because of the whole concept. I might even throw in some new rules of my own to the Shuffle to shake it up a bit, so please give me feedback on my ideas:

-Themed weeks somewhat akin to Summer Contest, where the skeletons sent in have to comply with a certain theme (e.g. BEMANI crossovers, songs with BPM changes, songs with a key change, songs with certain themes to their title or lyrics, etc.)
-An opportunity to earn bonus points if you correctly guess who sent your skeleton that you were assigned in. No bonus points given if you receive your own skeleton.
-You know how SC had the "up to two files per round" rule? I was thinking about giving users an option to decide to step a second song (taken from the backup pile) if they have enough time in the week to do so. The judging panel rule may work well alongside this one...

So...yeah. Not much else I want to say, except that I love the Shuffle and I don't want there to be none in 2017. Yes, I do greatly support the idea of trying out new contest ideas as I love having a variety (#BRINGBACKWARGAMES?, Simfile Survivor?), yet I also proudly support the idea of "revitalizing the Shuffle" to make it more fun than it was in past years and will do whatever I can to help make the idea a reality. (|[^u^]|)
Don't forget, I'm angel for yoooooooou(|[*'v'*]|)

I honestly am looking forward to trying something new this year. Sometimes the same thing can get boring, so it's certainly nice to change it up.

I'm not gonna lie, in 2015 I wanted to be a co-host of the Simfile Shuffle 2016. I don't know what happened last year, but I too got very, very interested in the Shuffle (chugging out 10 songs I've never heard before back to back is _not_ an easy task, especially when you blow your vetoes in the first two weeks), and sometimes a little too obsessed; Eventually I realized that I'm probably not cut out for that role (especially after an incident last Summer Contest 2016...).

Personally, even though I too would like to see a Simfile Shuffle 2017, that it's probably best if it takes a break. The slot that SS2017 would take could be filled with something far more innovative if someone steps up and decides to give it a crack.

Hm... very interesting. This idea sweeped by my head before, and of course I figured "this probably wouldn't work". While I'm pretty sure I could work with it, a lot of people probably won't like it all that much.

-An opportunity to earn bonus points if you correctly guess who sent your skeleton that you were assigned in. No bonus points given if you receive your own skeleton.

Maybe a maximum of 1 or 2 points, but I guess I can see this working out.

This surfaced last year and it was agreed that stepping two songs in a week would be annoying. Although technically if someone really wanted to step two songs they've never heard before (95% guaranteed) I guess they can't be stopped.

Quote: vincentw
- Lowering the minimum chart requirements to just one or two (e.g. one of BeginnerLightStandard and one of HeavyChallenge or something similar).

Personally, I was thinking of doing it in r21freak's Secret Stepfile Santa file. In addition to a song cut and .sm file, there's also a .txt file specifying what difficulty the person that submitted it wants to see stepped, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 difficulties, and the stepper must fulfill the request given in the .txt file at the very minimum. Any other difficulty is optional.

By the way, speaking of 10 songs back to back, I'm very sorry for not participating at much this year. (2/6th if songs stepped compared to 5/6th) I guess I just wasn't feeling it this time... Hopefully if this contest ever comes up again I'll actually try for all 8/10/12 rounds. For the 4 songs I did manage to submit though, hopefully the people that submitted those songs really enjoyed them, and thanks to everyone that turned the songs I sent in into art (Dreamland200/Gameoson/mf32892/The Legendary DJXYZ/Feraligatr)!

Thoughts on the topic of the day here:
I had a new years' resolution that you may have seen on this site earlier, to get really good at a video game that isn't Dance Dance Revolution. That ended up being Smash 4. So I put my gaming time into that, aside from having an already super busy February. And then, as I had said earlier, I did the last round. But for the time I've been in this contest... wow, interest has dropped.
Though conversely, the overall skill level has increased across the board, and towards the end scores were very close to even. That's great to know going into the future. With 40 entries in the Battle Royale, contests are looking to get more lively. I'm hoping for the best... for the stepping community as a whole and for this site's contests.
Not around here too often anymore, but I still play DDR & maimai!
My final contest run was in my signature so I guess I'll keep it here for those who wanna play my last few charts:

Hi.

Small list. I guess I'm the first one voting for once.

Deskwork [Dreamland200] - 1
Starlit sky screen [mf32892] - 3
Good Intentions [The Legendary DJXYZ] - 3
Kiss This [01Angel] - 3
DOMINO DANCING [SupremeX] - 1
Everlasting Last [ledgam3r1279] - 4
Snorlax [Feraligatr] - 0

Song choices:
As many of you guys know, I themed out my picks. I tried picking songs through the EDM range as well as going for the first 151 the the national dex.

Round A: JNTHN STEIN x KRNE x Alexander Lewis - Blastoise
I love all 3 artists. Trappy af. I was hoping someone would attempt to step this song, but it was immediately vetoed. Unfortunate.

Round B: JNTHN STEIN x KRNE x Alexander Lewis - Mega Blastoise
Same artists with different interpretation. Lots of dope and unique sounds going on in the song but it was not stepped this week. Unfortunate.

Round C: Luude: Raichu
This future bass track lends itself to fun steps. Too bad it was vetoed. I took this song and stepped it. I think it'l be in FA and Chill 2 when it's released. Unfortunate.

Round D: GRIMECRAFT - Trippy Squirtle
The remix version of Trippy Turtle - Trippy's Theme. I thought the upbeat Jersey sounds would help it get stepped. It was vetoed l0l. Unfortunate.

Round E: GRIMECRAFT - Ditto (Feat. ABSRDST)
I like future bass. Thanks mf for stepping. I thought the song could initially be like a good SX9 at least, but it's still good. Smile

Round F: GRIMECRAFT - Ditto VIP
I thought this one had more musicality going on in the song for like a nice SX10. I like the sounds. Too bad it wasn't stepped this week. Unfortunate.

Round G: Jake Sgarlato - Charmander
This one is a banger IMO that I already stepped it in my second pack and sent in the same cut LOL. I don't think anyone noticed though ayy lmao. It wasn't stepped unfortunately.

Round H: NΣΣT - Gengar
The song was good. I accidentally forgot it cut at least 15 seconds more, so that's my bad on my part.

Round I: Hiroki Hashimoto - Magikarp Festival
http://prntscr.com/egob8h wow. I just wanted to see other people's interpretation on the song. No need to be negative about it lol. It's okay.

Round J: Moldavite - Mewtwo
I like trap. This shit's great. Thanks for stepping Cuzco. I know it's outside of people's comfort zone, that's what this contest is about, right? This is why I didn't veto anyone because it gives a challenge. In addition, I think people want their file that they submitted to be stepped that'll make them content, right?

Round K: Blastoise - Gangsta
Blastoise aka We Are Castor. I haven't given any electro house tracks so it should be easy, right? Thanks Ledgamer for stepping.

Round L: It's pretty obvious.
I didn't think I would end stepping a song on a good note; but hey, I guess I got lucky, right?

Thank you Vincentw and Scarz for hosting this!

No thank you, Feraligatr, for being able to put up with my last two submissions. Laughing Hard I didn't think you'd step つぼみ, let alone in a way that got as many points as it did.

On a different note, are we eventually going to get the list of filemakers from Scarz for Rounds G and H? I guess we could reveal ourselves in the meantime, but we'll still need Scarz for confirmation.

(btw, I submitted Noise Cancel in Round G and BANG! in Round H)

Well I guess this is it for the Simfile Shuffle for now. As an observer of this, I had an enjoyable time to play through the files submitted here.

3 pts - Snorlax [Feraligatr]
3 pts - Everlasting Last [ledgam3r1279]
3 pts - Starlit sky screen [mf32892] (this seems like something 01angel would submit... Really good steps and I found the song to be good to my surprise.)
2 pts - Kiss This [01angel]
2 pts - Good Intentions [The Legendary DJXYZ]
1 pt - deskwork [Dreamland200] (ok, I can see why you found this difficult to step it. You seem to got the crap end of the deal here. While you did your best, it's just not fun to play thru this one.)
1 pt - DOMINO DANCING [SupremeX] (well... I feel you ended on a good note here. Overtime I've seen improvement in you. You'll get there eventually.)

Now as perhaps some of you know, I've been submitting skeletons to the backup pile. Of those submitted, only 5 were handed to the participants here (one of them due to the skeleton submitted in Round L was considered "undoable" to work with due to syncing issues.)

Only one was actually stepped and submitted which was Far East Movement x marshmello's Freal Luv ft. Chanyeol & Tinashe. Thanks Gameoson for stepping the song.

As for the other four... unfortunately they weren't stepped in time to submit. Those four being...
Timmy Trumpet - Oracle: a "psy trance" (in quotations b/c it's not really) track that was given to CuzcoBlocko for Round D. I understood why he wasn't able to step it in time since he was focusing to give constructive feedback to the files submitted here.

Koven - Telling Me. Given to chewi in Round E, it's a melodic dubstep song produced by UK duo. This wasn't stepped due to reasons unknown. I thought he'll step it eventually, but as of recently, I'm starting to doubt it.

Grimes - Flesh without Blood. A very nice synthpop song that was given to Quickman in Round H. You know, at the time I thought "Well this is an interesting combination. I wonder how it'll turn out." Deadline comes. Nope. Not sure what happened then tbh. Perhaps the cut I provided was too long to step that was offputting.

slushii - Emptiness. Now this is the file that Gameoson got for the last round. I thought "Well, he was able to submit "Freal Luv" in Round B, so maybe he would be able to do the same." Granted he was 8/9 at the time I had that thought. Perhaps that's why I was thinking he has a high chance of being able to submit it in time. Now that the deadline has reached, it became 8/10. I did feel slightly disappointed at the time but I'm sure he has his reasons why.

So in summary, only one of the backup files I submitted was stepped. The other four got squat. The rest is still in the backup file that'll be carried over to the next one.

TOTALS:
Everlasting Last [ledgam3r1279] - 7
Starlit sky screen [mf32892] - 6
Good Intentions [The Legendary DJXYZ] - 5
Kiss This [01Angel] - 5
Snorlax [Feraligatr] - 3
Deskwork [Dreamland200] - 2
DOMINO DANCING [SupremeX] - 2

Again, the contest was pretty enjoyable despite being a non-participant. I just want to thank both vincentw and Scarz for hosting this contest and, specifically vincentw, for accepting my skeletons to be added to the backup pile.

I don't mind stepping long things, I'm usually someone who makes fun of people who thinks anything over two minutes is bad. I just didn't really feel it, despite having a deep love for synth pop(Neuropa included). Probably due to everything I threw in being vetoed, I just couldn't be arsed.

Right, here we go...

This list discounts rounds G, H, K, and L as I didn't play through those (in some cases I didn't even download the files). This list also discounts B from everything step related as I didn't play all of the files in that, only some.

Top 5 song choices:

05. Freal Luv (ft. Chanyeol & Tinashe); Something about the instrumental and lyrics are cute.
04. The Greatest: Definitely would like to step someday.
03. Dumb Dumb; I love how quirky this one is. Also, it bizarrely gives off Dr. Seuss vibes.
02. FANTASTIC NxxD BABY
01. Aishiteru Yo Ne; This is so good. I'd totally step it someday.

(HMs: Emoji, STARDUST DISTANCIA, KOOKSEVERYWHERE, Rocking to the Beat, Heathens, Copacabana

Ranks of songs I've received:

01. Overdose (50 points): Damn, this one has so much energy. I like it a lot, To this day, especially with how badly a similar file is doing, I still don't know how I got points from every voter that round. Regardless, thank you chewi for sending this in, it makes a perfect addition to my category.

02. C'mon & Rave (bonus): Really enjoyable, despite the huge amount of difficulty I had stepping it (that contributed to it being late). Sorry, brunobg24.

03. WOBBLE IMPACT (not stepped): Well I think I'm the first person in Simfile Shuffle that failed to step their own skeleton in time... Ideally, this type of thing is what everyone should be excited for. :S Regardless, Sota Fujimori is usually good.

04. Saraba, Itoshiki Kanashimi Tachiyo (25 points): Idol Gothic Rock isn't my cup of tea, so this is a case of "didn't like this at first, but actually enjoy it now". Thanks brunobg24 for sending it in!

05. Mewtwo (23 points): This actually barely made it, it's pretty good but not as good as the top 3. Regardless, I love the puzzle value this one provided without being too bland (like the songs below the line), so thanks Feraligatr for sending it in.

06. Oracle (not stepped): This one started out so promising, but unfortunately after the first half slowly gets underwhelming. It has interesting ideas but even if I had more time to step, I don't think this would've saved the weak Round D. Regardless, sorry K-Step for missing it...

07. ACTIVATION (20 points): About as basic as things can get. I guess me and SupremeX just have really dissimilar tastes in music. Regardless, I found it just good enough to get the energy to complete it. Too bad I don't know if he even looked at my final result...

08. Tigre Bianca: It's... kinda good, I guess, but I feel like the song submitter was looking for something Tachyon-ish, charts I'm pretty bad at making, and I just wasn't able to follow through, especially with scrambling to complete my Battle Royale file before the deadline. Sorry to the song submitter.

09. Waga Routashi Aku no Hana: Just wasn't feeling it. I'm pretty sure I could've turned it into top-half material, but I simply didn't have the inspiration at the time, sorry HealingDMax300.

10. Fantasy Land (S3RL Remix): I guess I just don't understand S3RL like some people do. For me, this song is very, very bland and synthetic. I did give it a good honest try but in the end I decided "I can't really step this". Sorry, SZ64saulius (or whoever submitted this; I still actually don't know. :S).

11. die!!die!!cover: This suffers the same problem Fantasy Land does, but worse. Sorry Dreamland200 for vetoing it.

12. Arctic (Sobi Remix): Simply put, I chose a terrible time to buy in. I don't understand speedcore, if someone else does, great, enjoy it, but I certainly can't see the musical value in that genre. Sorry, Dreamland200.

Favorite songs I sent in:

001. diagram: Sota Fujimori's Expander alias rocks. Thanks The Legendary DJXYZ for stepping!

02. WOBBLE IMPACT: X__X

03. Roses (feat. Rozes): Certainly not a song I was expecting to like, but when I heard it over my family's radio, I saw fantastic charts for this song. Thanks mf32892 for stepping!

04. Snake Eyes: Glancing through the same album I got my favorite Valkyrie from, I heard this and immediately saw good charts for it. Thanks Gameoson for stepping!

05. Pokémon World 2000: I actually really like this song, it's very nostalgic from me. Sadly, when I saw chewi get assigned it I immediately knew it wasn't getting stepped. :(

06. Emmene-moi au Futur: The whole game isn't the same as the first two, but Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll has some damn good songs. I actually like every vocal song, but this one stood out as steppable. Thanks Dreamland200 for stepping it!

07. Reggaetron: I like the pirateish vibe it gives out. This song, I conspired stepping in the first two weeks of Theme Blender but never got around to it. Regardless, I think Gameoson's take of this is relatively solid. Thanks Gameoson for stepping once again!

08. nightowl: This song's somewhat messy, but I like it and saw some cool technical charts for it, even though it would've been a pain in the ass to fulfill. And surely enough, when I sent it in it wasn't stepped. I'm sure Spork! has his reasons why, but it's too bad.

09. Shinx: Even though this is at the bottom of the list, I still like it a lot. Thanks Feraligatr for stepping!

I also actually in fact sent Streamers to the backup pile during Round E (with a different cut), but it never got retracted, even with two people getting the chance to see the backup pile for a third time. :S

Favorite 15 files:

01. Dumb Dumb: This one rocks. The shock arrows really add a lot to it and everything else feels just right.
02. Snake Eyes: Clicks with my sense of technicality well, step-jumps were used pretty well.
03. INSERT COIN: I typically enjoy footswitches. The rhythms in this one naturally lent to some enjoyable patterns.
04. Freal Luv (ft. Chanyeol & Tinashe) The 4th-16th--16th--4th bits in :cha: are very fun and compliment the song well, good work!
05. Story 2: Because being able to step this song in the way you did deserves some recognition.
06. Daydream Café: Nezemarth really know what he's doing.
07. KOOKSEVERYWHERE: I actually really, really like the pattern choices in the slow section here!
08. Koi wa shiroobi Sanshiro: Mines were well utilized. The rhythms in this one are very fun.
09. Shinx: Cool use of side footswitches and rolls.
10. Ultimate Weapon pt.2: The :sta:-:hea: switch was certainly cheeky. Overall I really enjoyed it!
11. Kinjiraretta Chigiri: Albeit a tiny bit forgettable, it's still a very very solid simfile.
12. Megalara Garuda: Some discovered copy + paste in :hea:-:cha: kinda dragged this down, but overall a fantastic debut into contests.
13. Roses (feat. Rozes): I pictured some more ITG-styled charts, but what the stepper came up with is still very good.
14. Reggaetron: Again, I pictured something a bit more technical but I can't dislike the set of charts here, they're very good.
15. Iine: Cute, I can easily see having fun on this if I get a pad.

(HM: I Can't Fix You, Heathens, The Whip (Reef Remix), Alien Girl in New York)

Performance:

01st: Overdose (50 [!!])
02nd: Rock the Club (28)
03rd: Seedy Try (27)
04th: Saraba, Itoshiki Kanashimi tachiyo (25)
04th: Valkyrie (25)
06th: Mewtwo (23)
07th: ACTIVATION (20)

08th: TAKE A LOOK AROUND (16)
09th: Triops Has Three Eyes (14)
10th: Journal of an Unlucky Girl (13)
10th: PLATINUM (13)
10th: TRICKL4SH 220 (13)
13th: werewolf howls. (12)
14th: Flowlight (11)
14th: Otasa revolution (11)
16th: Seaside Heaven 3000 (10)
17th: Chance It (7)
17th: SA-KU-RA (7)
17th: Youkaisai Sendou -Oriental Swing Mix- (7)
20th: LOVE CLUTCH (4)
21st: Road to G6 (3)
22nd: Hitoribocchi (2)
22nd: When Love Takes Over (2)
22nd: Who What Who What (2)
----: C'mon & Rave! (uploaded when it was too late...)

SS14: 11
SS15: 97 (+9 bonus points)
TOI6: 9
SC16: 110
SS16: 120 (+2 bonus points)

Overall: 347 points

If this ever shows up again I promise I'll try for all rounds as much as I can even if I end up getting 0 points for the first time because of songs I don't like.

Not at all, actually. I'm not a fan of the Tachyon packs.
FUN FACT: I submitted that skeleton back in 2015. For a while I totally forgot I had even submitted it. Laughing Out Loud

My uploads (Comments)

[Round A] - AUSLANDSSGESPRACH / V.C.O.
For this simfile, I was not sure what kind of BG i could use so i heard the song and it had telephone sound which i started to make BG with that characteristic. About the song... meh.

[Round C] - Hyadain no Joujou Yuujou / Hyadain
Actually, i didn't like the song the first time which i listened. but when i was making the simfile i started to like, in the future i guess i will fix it.

[Round D] - Colors / FLOW
It's a good song but for this contest it didn't help me so much, it's slow and complicated increase the difficulty.

[Round E] - 2 MINUTES FIGHTERS / P*Light
I going to say all the true about this simfile, I was not quite sure the problem which i had with my old simfiles (double steps) so i made a test using the song and when many users criticized me about the simfile, I noticed my mistake and practiced not to do it again. I guess for this song, i will fixing it someday.

[Round F] - Salt lake Lostman / Koutei Camera Girl Zwei
The same as happened with Colors, a song which It haven't helped me for that round.

[Round H] - It's Always Better (When I'm With You) / I Hate Kate
It's not my favourite kind of rock, but finally i decided making the simfile.

[Round I] - Big Daddy of the Rhythm / Dead or Alive
haha, I liked it a lot the first time which i heard it, there some mistakes in the simfile but I'm completely decided to fix all Big Grin!

[Round K] - Can't Stop the Feeling! / Justin Timberlake
As I mentioned in the post of that simfile, it wasn't neccesary make it so long (2:15). Some songs of Justin Timberlake I like but this song i didn't like.

To finish it, I enjoyed a lot making simfiles, it seens there were song which I must have spent a lot of time to make it, it wasn't easy, sometime I was working 2AM or 3AM, but with satifaction when i finished them.
Well, there are some people who ask me if i would enter in ZIv Royal Battle, unfortunetly i can't enter in the contest because i'm busy with my job and i'm planning to make a project hmmm... little collaboration for Zenius Vanisher.

Well, Thanks a lot to all, it was fun contribute and collaborate. Puppy Face

I have an interesting idea to replace Z-I-v Simfile Shuffle 2017. Lo and behold:

Z-I-v Simfile Tycoon

This is a variant of Simfile Shuffle in that everyone submits a skeleton for someone else to step. Everyone starts out with 20 points, and each participant submits one skeleton. Then, all skeletons are revealed, and in order to get a skeleton, people must bid on them. The skeleton goes to the highest bidder. (If someone is the highest bidder on more than one file then they get the one they bid the most on.) Anyone who didn't bid gets a random skeleton from those remaining. Then, the points are transferred from the person who bid to the person who make the skeleton. Therefore, submitting a desired skeleton gets you more points.

Then, people step their files. Nothing really changes here.

Finally, people vote on the files. People are given 15 points to divide among the files (standard voting rules apply). Then once the votes are over, the makers of the files are given the points they earned from the files. The leaderboard will consist of the cumulative point values. The winner will be the one with the most points at the end of the round.

Timing will likely work like this. Week 1, first 3 days, submit a skeleton. Week 1, last 4 days, bid on skeletons. Week 2, step skeletons. Week 2, first 3 days, submit second skeleton. Week 2, last 4 days, bid on skeletons. Week 3, vote on files. ...

I am interested in being the host for Z-I-v Simfile Tycoon, and I would be interested in having a co-host. Anyway, tell me what you think?

"Yuuki Mishima for Tekken"
I'm not sure how well this would work. Wouldn't it be possible to have zero points whatsoever? And also, it'd REALLY discourage creative submissions. Not only do you risk your skeleton not being stepped like in Simfile Shuffle, you outright lose out on points unless you stick to the cliche stuff.

I see your point, but I don't really see how it discourages creative submissions. People are gonna wanna bid on the files that they think would grant them the most points, so if a creative file seems like it would grant a lot of points to step, then people will bid on it. Also, yes, it's possible to get zero points, but it's very unlikely. You would have to bid all your points on a skeleton that you would step, and then not get any points. Then, you would just be handed a random remaining file.

Also I forgot to mention, vetos would cost points, something like 20, or to perhaps make it fairer, 25% of your points.
