So, how do we find more Pop'n Music animation sprites, other than the ones in the Pop'n Music Wikia? I know there are animation sprites for Madoka, Reimu, Marisa, Mimi (eclale), and Ace in the VG Resource sprite website.

How about a Super Smash Bros Ultimate mod for Pop'n Music called Smash'n Music??

Finally found out what I was doing wrong to register with Zenius-I-Vanisher (long time simfile downloader but never registered until I saw this WIP theme - and I wasn't putting a "," at the end of I am not a bot.. lol) but If you are still keen on making this theme, I'm currently ripping all textures/sprites, including characters, from "Usaneko" and can upload to megaupload or wherever works best?

(If anyone actually reads this post, I will upload a few rips for an example in the morning as it's currently 2:08am and I'm tired - I haven't done in years and don't know what site to use since I used to do this on Photobucket but don't know if it exists anymore..)

I've managed to get key sounds and their background music as well but I don't know where to start with these/how to sort them so I know what key sound goes where.. so in the mean time, I am currently making simfiles for Stepmania but just notes over the top of the original fully constructed songs.

I've been seeing this quite a lot with the character sprites where they will either have limbs or little details separate to the main sprite but I think this may be easily fixed.

A bit sloppy as I had to crop, resize, align etc but Emi I reckon would be the hardest considering she's more 3D than the normal 2D sprites.



Not sure wether or not the original author of this post is continuing this project due to the last reply being a year ago but too early to tell so in the mean time, I'm going to look for the easiest beginner tutorials on how to make themes (as I'm completely crap at it haha) so will give it a few days/weeks before making a new thread so as to give the author time to see this and to see if I can manage making an original SM5 theme.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them

Looks good, I've stopped drawing the theme a lot of time ago due to RL troubles, but I'll finish it. Is good to see that people is still interested in this project.

Shortly after replying to this thread. that's when I realised it was a theme being constructed by you and despite me being a tad weird, I remember you and your themes way back when I first started playing Stepmania so please excuse me if I'm in awe haha. Wasn't you that gave us our first SuperNova theme?

Anyway, I've managed to start piecing together more character sprites and have, what I assume is 95% of the graphics. I'm just having trouble with some of the smaller items but if you like, I'm more than happy to forward what I have so far if it's any help to you when you do resume this theme?

What are you going to do for judgements? Are you going to use pre-existing pop'n judgement graphics, or are you going to make your own graphics for DDR judgement text but in the style of usaneko?

On topic now - Usaneko's judgements are available but I feel like it's totally up to the creator wether or not they choose to use the provided Usaneko judgements or create his/her own because there are pros and cons to each:

Usaneko judgements are ready to go but I feel like they are small so when I've tried making them the correct size, they start losing their definition. I also don't know one thing about Photoshop and a small bit of GIMP lol

Creating your own allows you to provide clearer, more defined judgements but the look and feel can vary depending on how accurate the user wants them to be. (Of course you're bound to come across at least one negative nancy that has way over the top accuracy requirements)

Here's just a sample of the judgement's used in Usaneko:




Regardless of what option the creator chooses, let's support them in anyway possible because there's little next to nothing for Pop'n lovers and trying to learn lua has taken me so long to achieve so little which makes you fully realise how much works goes into these themes.

Speaking of which:

1. I'm trying to recreate the songwheel, can move it but can't find how to straighten the wheel and move diagonally.
2. Need to find where I can replace the background with a still image (so I can attempt having the moving buildings above this image)
3. Making an image/sprite move from point A to point B and I guess looping to achieve the moving buildings effect.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction which achieving these? I know I should most likely be asking this in a different section but I feel like it is relevant.

browsing the net though, in last case?

Imgur has been a great suggestion and I especially love the multiple choices with codes for
sharing, it keeps my pictures transparency, easy to upload etc I just don't like nor understand
the -2 reputation I have haha

Sure the question was a month ago but any suggestion helps especially now that I've handed
quite a bit over to MadkaT to play around with and am worried how the site(s) handle and hopefully
keep the transparency/not resizing the images/distorting/etc

In the mean time, please enjoy some of the most amateur eyesore of a theme job screenshots by
yours truly lol (yes, Navi hovers and blinks, my attempt at the layer of overlapping buildings does scroll, well,
one goes the opposite way.. and the 9 button display pad on the Select Music acts as if someone is
playing it/the buttons pop)

When I obtained these rips, I was using a 2015 MacBook Pro, I started learning all the Lua, was slowly coming
together and then my Macbook died. I then bought a 2020 MacBook Pro but soon learnt that Stepmania was no
longer supported for my Macbook. Discovered OutFox / Project Moondance was my only option resulting in me
realising I would have to learn a lot of things again and still don't know how many people actually use OutFox
so I lost motivation.

I haven't heard anything from MadkaT but COVID seems to be affecting everything from how we work, down
to our mental health (inspiration, motivation as an example) so whilst I hope he's ok, I'm not going to try and
push for results. Other than that, I'm afraid I'm out..

I've compressed all the textures/sprites AND sounds from PNM24/Usaneko and uploaded them for anyone to
download (link below) if they want to give it a shot or pass it on to themers etc:

Just a heads up though, it's partially sorted in folders with the rest without a folder but is roughly about 250MB
