The theme has to do with AI and emotions, and each song represents a different emotion. Yeah, it's not a really obvious theme.

Long story short: XD2.BOT PUC'd Lachryma《Re:Queen’M》 for the first time in the song's two-year history.


To celebrate such feat, Lachryma's charts are available by default for an entire week.

Wait, isn't Senkou Hanabi a KAC song? They even used it in the KAC 2012 medley.

Though I guess it's because it existed before on NND, so it's not entirely exclusive to Konami probably.

They actually EDITED THE KAC 2012 MEDLEY to remove Senkou Hanabi. (It normally starts with eclair au chocolat at 1:28)

What’s the point of removing songs when you’re supposed to have a large songlist to keep the players coming?

Licensing issues and contract renewals.

Pretty sure Bemani would love to keep all these songs as long as they can, but in the end it's up to the artists if they want to keep the songs in or not. It happened with NOMA as well when Brainpower was removed, he decided to not renew the contract because Konami would not let him play the songs in his sets without their permissions due to the contract the song was binded to itself.

Kamome sano did post a couple tweets explaining why the song was removed, but her other songs aren't.

The explanation seems to be similar to why Brain Power (and also 進め！イッスン軍団 -Rebellion of the Dwarfs-) was removed; Kamome wants to use it elsewhere, but she's grateful that people enjoyed it so much.
She also made a point of explaining that her other songs like eclair au chocolat and freaky freak are still under contract, so they'll still be there for the foreseeable future even if she goes on a rampage outside Konami's offices.

Also, it just dawned on me that this is about the same time of year as the last batch of SDVX removals. I guess this is just the time of year when contracts expire for SDVX specifically? Or maybe it's for all the series but it only ever comes into play for SDVX because of how many artists are commissioned and i'm rambling oops

Besides, even with some songs removed there’s still 1000+ songs in the SDVX series as a whole, so that’s still a large amount regardless.
