Usaneko has been around wayyyyy too long - a new version with all the mini-game revivals?

Since DDR's 20th anniversary update was massive, does everyone think that pop'n will get something like that?

We shall see. I say of all the anniversaries so far this year jubeat got the best treatment.

I'm really hoping for something big and good. Pop'n Music 25 is overdue by now and we got うさぎと猫と少年の夢 for the 18th anniversary, so my hopes are up~

It was announced in BEnama a moment ago a new song will be available until Oct 7th.

The translation is wrong. The text says the song will be added tomorrow and will be able to play UNTIL 10/7.
It's likely they may release a new game come 10/7.

Another arcade game perhaps?

Judging from the outlines I could be wrong, but Mimi and Nyami looks like they're dressed as artists(Painters dressed in beret's and smocks). I sense a new version incoming.....!

It's a really fun and cute song, I like the style of music a lot!
And since it's Pop'n Music's 20th anniversary I got a few things I wanna say about my experiences with it...

I first "met" Pop'n Music when I was only eight years old. I had been very into Dance Dance Revolution thanks to my elementary school using it in gym class, so I took a liking towards all rhythm games from a young age. I came across Pop'n Music by chance at a local arcade and was drawn over to it instantaneously by its bright colors and the cute characters dancing on the screen. I played a few songs in it in Enjoy Mode, and met Mimi and Nyami, the iconic rabbit and cat mascots. Even though I had never played Pop'n Music prior to then, it felt like the game was a part of me I couldn't live without. My dad even helped me play even though he also hadn't played it before! I just couldn't hit some of the buttons because I was so small, so he helped hit them for me. :'D
From there, I started to become extremely curious about Pop'n - why I could only play as Mimi or Nyami, who Honey was, and just everything about the series in general. I started to look up Pop'n Music and learned it had been made by the same company that made DDR, which made me love Pop'n EVEN MORE. I started to listen to all the songs, often in the background of playing Webkinz; I also started to take a liking towards all the characters, especially the cute/girly ones. Rie-chan was the first one I really liked, then Sanae-chan; my favorite Pop'n character changed almost weekly back then though Rie and Sanae were somewhat special to me, as I had MULTIPLE weeks when I considered them my favorites.
But this liking didn't last forever - when I was a kid my interests came and went, as they still do now, and I eventually abandoned Pop'n Music in favor of Phineas and Ferb, SpongeBob, and Lalaloopsy. But little did I know the liking would COME BACK, and turn into a full-blown OBSESSION...
In 2014 I went to a ranch with the Girl Scouts which had DDR and I played it non-stop, sparking my interest in DDR again. This reignited interest in DDR ended up with me watching loads of DDR videos on YouTube which later became me coming across a Pop'n Music video and from there on out, going into an endless rabbit hole of songs, cute characters, and obsessions.
And if it hadn't been for Pop'n Music, I would have never become a full-fledged BEMANI community member - and I would have never found myself.
My ALT obsession was the strongest obsession I had got in a long time, and it's currently my longest-lasting obsession having lasted from May 10, 2015 and still going on - this obsession will have lasted FOUR YEARS come this May.
And it made me want to become more active in the community so I could share my love for these characters.
Pop'n Music also helped reignite my interest in art and wanting to post my art online. Pop'n Music's art style has been a huge influencer for my own, and the 700+ characters have given me endless inspiration and ideas for what to draw.
I knew rhythm gaming, and BEMANI, and Pop'n Music were my calling - and heck, if it hadn't been for Pop'n I would have never even began to study Japanese either!
It's truly amazing how a game could change a person's life like it did mine!

Well, this is going to be interesting, I wonder if these songs plus the 2 other ones will appear in the next pop'n music game.

Still really amazed Konami commissioned Keiichi Ueno to write a new song, considering how anti-Ueno they've been the past few years (his SDVX remixes didn't appear on those limited SDVX OSTs a year back, and none of his songs are in INFINITAS).

Update: The coming soon pic has revealed the characters.



It looks like Konami might be finally moving away from the anime art style for the next pop'n music game. THANK GOD.
