"Working On: 5thMix BGA bgchanges"

Last updated: 2016-08-30 03:06am
Hi again everyone,

I just thought I'd pop up a picture of how my DDR Solo mode is going in the theme I'm hacking up for it. I've been using KENp's DDR X2 theme as a base as I've been teaching myself the LUA scripting and his theme has a lot of interesting/different things to play with/see how they work.

So how the Solo Mode works:
- If only a single side joins, the announcer swaps to the DDR Solo announcer pack.

- Everything else up to the game play screen is the same.

- When you start playing a song, the sides of the screen are wrapped in a DDR Solo bezel.

- The six windows play animation files in time with the tracks - I'm working with the BGAnimations that Engine_Machiner has been working on putting together. So far I've just got a couple of animations working as there are some restrictions as to what I can use as some of the animation files have graphics outside of the "visible screen" if used as a normal BGAnimation and that overrun shows in the arrow path if I use them.

- I know it's not DDR Solo accurate but I've put the Banner of the song showing in the bottom right side. This does two things, it's less distracting than having the title/song number scrolling across the screen and also allows full view of the arrow path. I found out how to import the Banner (and then worked out how to bring in the Background images for the start of songs in the side windows) from the [SM5] beatmaniaIIDX15 theme and noteskin by tony_toonami.

I'm going to be working on extra features down the line but here's how it looks right now:

Any thoughts/suggestions would be great. Loving working on Stepmania again! Big Grin

Really need to add my scores to the tracker soon.
