We still got 2 BUZRA ARTS songs left but yeah things seem to be dying down. It would not shock me if something is announced by mid August.

There's a good chance we'll get the next phase of 忍々七建伝 by the end of July if the release dates of 攻城シノバズ伝 is any indication. One month from the initial release is the first update with a batch of new songs, and then two months from that is the next update. The last update for the current event was at the end of May, so...

Well there is that new thing on the eamuse site which seems to allow you to win buzz. I don't quite understand it though, you choose five numbers three times, so its some kind of lottery.

Sounds like that would be the perfect time frame; Announce IIDX 25 in August, have the Japanese location tests the next month, and release it in early/mid-November.

I'm really hoping they do something special for that game, because this year is the 20th anniversary of Beatmania 1st Mix/Bemani in general, so it would be really cool if they either:

A. Make a modernized take off of BM1st Mix for the interface, while also reviving a lot of the 5-Key Beatmania songs.
B. Have an HD remaster of BM Complete Mix as a seperate mode sorta like 2nd Mix mode on DDR X3.
or C. A lot of retired/former Bemani artists come back just for this game and either do remixes of their old songs, or make brand new songs entirely.

I would be pretty stoked for either of the three options.

That would be cool to pay homage to OG beatmania but I personally wouldn't want the songs as is revived because a lot of them sound old and not in a good way or are too short. Have the current beatnation records crew remix the crap out of them.

Then most of the songs would be made into Hardcore/Happy Hardcore/Super Ultimate Hyper Core (no offence to BroGamer. XP) songs, which would kinda ruin the purpose of this being a 20th anniversary game.

Personally, if I was in charge of reviving the old BM songs, I would pick the songs that haven't been touched in years. i.e. Nouvo Nude's Find Out (or almost any of Nouvo Nude's songs for that matter), or give E-Motion some new charts (perhaps 2ndMix's version becomes an Another chart), or even a song like Manmachine Plays Jazz would make a fun level 10 chart.

While the majority of the songs from the 5KEY were on the shorter side, they all showcased MUCH more variety with their song lists compared to recent IIDX styles. Despite a lot of newer artists that have joined and/or contributed to BEMANI within recent years, a lot of songs sound WAY too similar to one another and a lot of them are structured in identical ways. It really would be fantastic to have a lot of previous BEMANI and commissioned artists come back in the way that you stated.

Remixes and revivals would be nice, but we're all forgetting the most important song that should be brought back:



To be totally sincere, I would love to see something like this brought back as an Extra Stage or something.

not sure dj battle is possible to revive bc that's a nagureo song, and afiak they only have the rights to songs still on arcades
also, this song was considered for DDR EXTREME, but Across the Nightmare made it instead

Well, we were talking about former Bemani artists coming back for the anniversary. Plus, it doesn't need to be the exact same thing, just something similar.

Also, how the heck does crossing this over into DDR work?

That did not stop Hommarju from directly sampling u gotta groove in Beat Juggling Mix though.

I mean, they are not going to revive DJ BATTLE, but I'm pretty sure Konami still have rights for several songs that are currently not in arcades (consider that nagureo composed DJ BATTLE when he was still an in-house musician).

I'd like to see them revive 5key mode with a new interface and animations in the style of old beatmania. For the 10th anniversary DistorteD CS had some 5key revivals in IIDX, but I think it would be neat if they did it the other way around and made 5key charts for IIDX songs. Or they could just make it like bm USA where some songs had both 5 and 7key charts and some only had one or the other.
I feel like this is a long shot, but at the very least it would be neat to see some 5key revivals that are still in other games (like BE LOVIN and COREDESAT).

Side note, can the next game have a title that's an actual word, please? Ever since Lincle the titles of IIDX games have been in obscure languages or words that are totally made up. Whatever happened to names like HAPPY SKY?
