So hopefully I can get some votes in later this week but I wanted to thank everyone for allowing me to practice my reviewing (I've expressed interest in judging the next (not ZIV specific) gimmick comp so hopefully that comes to pass). Hopefully something's been helpful to someone.
Around gimmick week I started working on other stuff, chart-related and otherwise, and the theme being SM5 only totally makes sense but it ruined what I was going to submit then since I couldn't teach myself enough SM5 related foreground stuff; after that I never had the chance to get back to this...c'est la vie.
Maybe I'll get in again next TOI...albeit more likely to enable other people to win :V

Should I have had put "Live" as a subtitle to it? I just thought the live performance had more potential for different rhythms that didn't appear in the cleaner final version of the song.
And yes, now that I think of it, I should have included the video clips of it. I might work on that at a later time and then just reupload the simfile onto here.

Oh certainly the live performance has a lot of rhythms compared to the original. Yeah, I think you should've put a subtitle to indicate it's the Live Performance version so people won't get confused between this and the original.

Though the song is very quirky, I thought you did a pretty decent job on the chart. Your patterning skills have improved so much since the beginning of this contest. This could've been totally gimmicky as well.
Well most of this seems to be around the 14-15 range on X-scale. Only the end of it really warrants the 13 ITG rating. A few doublesteps here and there, but patterns are much more diversified than FAKE's and most patterns worked out well, IMO. Rhythms seemed a bit arbitrary at times but the 8th streams seemed to fit regardless.

Not bad. One part felt kinda empty. Gimmicks mostly made sense and they're relatively easy to pick up on. Some of the rhythms might've been misquantized (use the wrong timings), but overall the chart is pretty good.

NOt too bad a chart. I don't think there should have been too much on the "rap" lyrics. It totally contradicts the main beat of the song IMO. A lot of 7 note 8th streams throughout the song would've been fitting to me. I do think stepping the "Stay-in-A-live" vocals was right.

Hmm...not sure I like this chart much. Something about the 16th approximations (in place of fully stepping instruments)didn't feel right at all.
idk maybe I don't like the combination of these instrumentals with Michael Jackson's vocals. The chart was better, though I can't say I'm overjoyed about it.
Shampoo
Song's nice. Chart seemed good initially, but once again patterns immediately begin to show doublesteps. May I ask how you play StepMania (i.e. what keys you use and with which fingers? This might help me to figure out why this doublestepping idea is not clicking...)

I like it. Only thing that truly bothered we was the empty space between vocal sections towards the beginning of the song.
Very nice chart! I see the Freeze Arrows were very consistently placed on the same arrow for sections. Very well planned out, I'd say.

tbh I think most of the song would've been fine at double the BPM. Otherwise I thought this was your best chart, though the jumps get really tedious.
Everything You Ever Dreamed
I liked it up until the part with the crazy rhythms. Despite that long section, I think it should still be enough to get one point, though.

Song's nice. Chart seemed good initially, but once again patterns immediately begin to show doublesteps. May I ask how you play StepMania (i.e. what keys you use and with which fingers? This might help me to figure out why this doublestepping idea is not clicking...)Rhythms were mostly good.
I play with a keyboard and use the arrow keys so using both my index finger and either middle or ring finger. Don't have a pad myself at the moment. I can see why you came to the conclusion that I don't fully understand pad patterning.
Honestly some of the doublesteps was intentional for Shampoo, but yeah I could see some downsides to doing it excessively.

So it seems like you play one-handed? Honestly I think it might be better to create files and play through them with two hands centered on the arrow keys. Only use your index fingers to play. It might take some getting used to, but it's good for detecting double steps if you're not the most familiar with them. When you test patterns, an acceptable pattern tends to be one where your fingers don't crash into each other.

Try focusing as much as you can with only both of your two index fingers. Imagine the four keys as a pad and your two index fingers are your feet. Using one finger for each of the four keys is definitely not ideal. Also, I would use the numpad (2, 4, 6, 8) so that you have something much closer to a pad shape (and that it's easier to do LDR crossovers).
See that pattern above the UR jump at m24? If you find yourself having to do something among the lines of this...
Then that means there's an awkward pattern and you should fix it. In this case, if you start with your left foot, everything up to the 5th arrow in m23 is fine, but the 6th arrow should definitely be up, but it's down, which makes the player face backwards before an UR jump, which doesn't flow well, especially if you're one of the players that uses a bar.
(You CAN, however, crossover the first arrow and this pattern would be okay, but it's definitely not obvious at first and there's way more backwards facing patterns in here that don't have a way around them unless you doublestep.)
