DJMAX RESPECT (PS4)

Does anyone else experience a lot of bullshit when it comes to the up-left combination of notes? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve have my combo break from those, even though I know I’m pressing both buttons when that combination appears.

Definitely! There's also some songs with charts that have, Left+UP+RIGHT on the D-pad. How the heck are you supposed to hit that on a standard PS4 controller?!

Realtalk: I immediately rebound my top d-pad and triangle inputs to L1 and R1 respectively because my thumbs began protesting way too soon in 5button and 6button modes. Definitely saved my fingers a little bit at least (and seems to make more sense in terms of those wacky chords?)

No, this was a 6-Button chart, maybe 8. I can't seem to remember which song, but it was definitely on a Maximum chart. If I come across that song again, I'll let you know, but this wasn't some fever dream I had (I was grinding MV unlocks for every song).

I can confirm there was 1 or 2 charts tops that had 1+2+3 on your left for 6k+... really old school type stuff

So I’m gonna guess that just simply playing the game over and over unlocks songs at certain points, because there are certain songs that are meant to be acquired through achievements that I’ve unlocked without fulfilling that achievement. For example, I have not played the game online at all (and can’t, since I don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription), but I have MASAI unlocked, which is meant to be unlocked after playing online 10 times. Funky Chups is another; it’s meant to be unlocked after playing 5B TUNES 50 times but the song became available to me while I only have 43 5B TUNE playthroughs.

Music videos from what I remember can't be unlocked by play count. You need to FC a song on any difficulty to unlock them.

Yeah, that I do know. I’m mainly concerned with trying to unlock all the music for Freestyle Mode, which I think I’m close to being done with.

Everything (aside from music videos and DLC gallery pictures/plates) unlocks over time, I've heard.

you know, with the possibility of a DJMax Online pack, there could potentially be the first BMS crossover in the series...

So word has it over on DJMAX Korea's Facebook page that BEXTER is working on changing the artwork (videos) for glory day and black cat as well as possibly the intro sequence to the game.

The issue stems from the person who made the artwork retweeted a few controversial tweets which prompted the team to start talks on changing the art. The artist seems to be a rather radical feminist and I don't know the whole story, but here's something that delves a bit more into the controversy.

This Twitter thread has more information. This isn't the first time something like this has happened with a Korean game too; if a woman is so much as assumed to be a radical feminist or have ties to Megalia, her job's gone (like the woman who got fired for her "Girls do not need a prince" shirt). It doesn't even seem like she even retweeted anything harmful, but it was enough for Neowiz to go "get out of here man-hater!!!!!!1"

That sucks. The videos for Glory Day and Black Cat are very good. I don't agree with it but something tells me there's more to the story than what's being shown. Also it might be more of a Korean culture thing when it comes to feminism and all that jazz. Cutting content because of one's stance on something is a bit extreme. It's the JonTron Yooka-Laylee conflict all over again.
