Go for it I say. The sweet time Neowiz has taken to release the darn game has taken its toll. I went ahead and got the HK version its a fantastic game. Thanks to the ease of acquiring KH PSN money and their store and the game itself being in full English, importing is a breeze.

We got a Q&A from Neowiz about the game. Here's the two important takeaways from the interview:


Not exactly sure what they mean by a "more polished game", but good to hear I was on the nose with why there has been a substantial delay.


Part of me wants to call bullshit on this. Then again, I've never developed for Sony, so I don't know if they really have a "file size limitation" in place for the PS servers. I still think they should have at least given the western territories some of the DLC for free to make up for the delay. I highly doubt we're going to get any timed exclusives like with what Japan got with the Guilty Gear Xrd songs for a while.

If someone at Neowiz has the offchance of reading this thread, I will say only this: Actions speak louder than words; we want to see exactly why the US release is taking so long to get released. People are not happy with how this has been handled, and they will not be happy if it's just the same base game as everywhere else without any added bonus content to make up for being almost an entire year late.

I smell a bunch of lame PR nonsense from Neowiz regarding their poor handling of this game's roll-out for the west. Like I said too little too late for Neowiz I think people who have been interested with this game have imported at this point that there is little reason to get the US version for anyone else. These games are super niche in the US delaying the game so long will hurt them further.

What do they mean by more polish? The game is fully translated and The game is fine the way it is, I should know, I got the original release copy! What the heck? Why can't they just admit they didn't wanna release it here and just put themselves out of their misery? Why they gotta dance around with lies? Fuck them! Neowiz is a piece of shit company, they always will be, and it continues. Pentavisions greatest mistake was trusting Neowiz with this series and it just poor management. Now look where Penta is! They're gone! Neowiz killed the Arcade IP Technika leaving the fans with nothing, no unlocks, no network, just killed it, they lied about DLC for Tune on the Vita, and now they delayed the release of Respect and NOW they expect people who have already imported and played the original release to death to buy the fucking game again for US and EU like it's a fucking new game and grind again!? This is shit! Fuck them! Neowiz has failed as a company and I hope whatever karma comes their way is swift! This is bullshit!

I didn't think I would ever see the day, but I finally caved in and made a Hong Kong PSN account and bought DJMAX Respect digitally. Quick question: I noticed there's a lock next to the game. I'm gonna be pissed if that means it's region-locked and I can't use my regular PSN account for this game. XD

UPDATE: Nevermind, turns out I just had to activate the HK account as my primary PS4. (Can you tell I've never done this before outside my Nintendo Switch? XD)

So tl;dr. this is Neowiz's fault for making me do this.

Now, I might, might get the US version later down the road, but I already spent a hundred bucks to get the game and the DLC, so it's not gonna be for a loooong time, if ever.

March 6th for the NA/EU version. I really advice people who already imported to please don't double dip. I really disapprove the mishandling of the rollout of this game and it looks like there is virtually no difference to warrant a purchase unless you're willing to believe Neowiz that they "polished" the presentation up for this release or "support" them even when they got your money importing already and or purchasing the dlc.

Tbh, I'm hoping they aren't asking for more than $30 for the US version. If it's around that much or under (HAHA...), I might bite, but like I said earlier, if they really want people who already imported the game to bite, they will need to include some of the DLC for free or at a VERY hefty discount. :/

New DJMAX Respect Update v1.1:


Additions / Changes
1. DARK ENVY track from the CE DLC added (you can play after purchasing the CE DLC)
2. Random song selecting option was added
3. New effects were added (Fade in2, Fade out2, Blink2, Pixel, Pixel2, Reverse, 4D)
4. BGA brightness control setting and saving options were added
5. Nickname and plate will be displayed in the result screen
6. Game tips will be displayed while game is loading, paused, and when it's over.

Modifications
1. Pattern error fixed: Right now, Creator
2. Fixed the problem of DMP2 gear skin incorrectly being displayed under certain conditions
3. Fixed the problem that play results of CE were not reflected in the master ranking.
4. Fixed the problem that some plates were abnormally displayed in the ONLINE mode.

※ If the automatic update has been set up in the Online mode, you can get the new patch when you start the game.

No double dipping for me, and no one else should either that already bought this game when it came out last year. This is a fucking travesty, this whole release was poorly handled, and there is little to no changes for this version, there's no damn polish(Neowiz lying AGAIN!), same setlist, same everything, no exclusives, fuck you Neowiz! I will not be supporting this, end of story. And I swear to god this better not be full retail $60! This better be at a damn discount, specially after making players everywhere else wait for a legit western release. And no free DLC yeah fuck you Neowiz, fuck right off! I feel bad for everyone in that damn show video. If only they knew what me and everyone else knew. Shame.

it's almost criminally easy to create an HK/SG/JP PSN account, anybody who wanted the game that badly did that a long time ago

I'll still get it but I don't blame people who don't want to double dip, especially since there's no bonus for doing it. I was going to get a JP PSN account but I think I'll just wait for the US version of the game is out, unless it does end up being $60. $60 and having to pay for DLC is a hard sell.

I don't think it's gonna be $60 (it better not be$60!!). My guess is they are going to have it be $30-$40; anything more would be pushing it, especially considering we won't have the DLC at launch for the first month...

I'm now at a crossroads here; do I keep playing my Hong Kong version that I got over a week ago, or do I just give up and delete it once US version comes out? I wrote on their Facebook page and asked if there would be anything special for the western versions, and they obviously did not respond back.

Ultimately it's your money. But if you don't mind wasting it go ahead since it's virtually the same exact game with possibly some censorship. If I were you don't do it. You have the game already there's no need to get the US version.

There is nothing special for the USA version, they didn't reply back because there not going to, there's nothing special it's the same exact frikkin' game. No exclusives, no incentives, nothing, we're not even getting the DLC for free or right away either, just censorship like Round said. Keep your HK copy, DO NOT delete your copy you already have and start over as that would be stupid to be honest. Do not double dip, keep your HK copy and continue enjoying what you have and keep progressing. Do not support the US version and Neowiz's poor release practices for the west. Fuck Neowiz for this! I want people to boycott this shit. This is unfair.

I don't see how this is censorship if it's exactly the same game unless there's content that's not on the US version. It's more Neowiz saying there was going to be more polish and then there wasn't. It's still not cool that they flat out lied but it's not censorship.

The reason why I asked, mainly stems from the long game, when (hopefully) the US version is all caught up with the DLC; it might be a lot easier (and arguably cheaper) to directly buy the DLC from the US PSN instead of having to get pre-paid cards off of Play-Asia and have leftover funds that will never be touched after a while.

Does this mean I'm gonna get the US version on day 1? Of course not! I've already spent a hundred bucks in HK PSN cards to get the base game and all the DLC released so far. XD

To anyone who gets the US version: I'd like you to humor us and see if there's any differences or any "polish" that Neowiz claims there will be. My guess is that the 1.11 update from a couple days ago is what they are referring to. *shrugs shoulders*

Censorship meaning some songs will be censored because if anyone recalls Get Out by ND Lee has the N word in the lyrics.


Idk I'm saying at this point after all the grinding I did to get where I'm at with songs and content unlocking and buying all the DLC i still wanna commit to the import version and not support this at all. BemaniHyper Neowiz has a bad history of breaking promises, lying and I don't trust them for a second that this is gonna be different from the game that has been out since last summer, they are drumming up hype for nothing, spewing PR bullshit to mask the fact that this is gonna be the same damn game, and wasting players time with this bullshit. I refuse to give them the benefit of the doubt and Neowiz and this damn release can go screw off. And not to mention this release will not be getting the DLC right away and we might not even get the Clazziquai stuff due to licensing issues so right off the bat Neowiz is not compensating players who already bought the game and grinded tirelessly since last summer to unlock everything and spent money to buy the DLC. I'm not buying this fucking game again and neither should anyone else who already committed to the original release in Korea and Asia like me and others. You really don't understand or see the depth of whats going on BemaniHyper so don't try to defend anything here. It's done, and a lot of us are fucking pissed off and tired of this.
