Extra Exclusive tournament has finished. Results:
1. CHRS4LFE
2. FUNGAH
3. O4MA
4. HO4-KETI
5/6. ZEROWOLF / KAZE573
7/8. UN-LIM / SPENCER
9-12. DDR-KOJI / YOSHIMIZ / GIEZ-ACS / NAYU
13-16. EVILDAVE / RINON / MOO-G.56 / KAZANE
17-24. NINJAFAR / BLUECHOW / ERROR / $WAGMAN / NAY-NAY! / TAKASKE- / GINXYASU / RETOREE
25-32. COCOA / @Tobari / DAVO / ZZZ / DIMO / A.STYLES / RI74TA / TWIX
Pretty even representation and results between US and Japan, except the former's top two representatives are clearly a level above the latter's, while being outnumbered 1 to 6 in 9-16.
FEFEMZ was supposed to participate, but had to return to Korea early.

What a surprise, in a tournament with a non-bullshit format, America take a 1-2.
Outside of that, it sucks that FEFEMZ couldn't be there due to the fact he had to leave the night of KAC. I hope one day we can have the CHRS4LFE v. FEFEMZ fair match we all want.

There's the red light. It's time to stop, like, right now.
There was no need to post "the amount of d riding in your post is off the charts" because I certainly don't see where he's "d riding". It seems to me like you're trying to pick fights over nonsensical crap like his simple opinion and it's not cool.
Can we please try not to turn this thread into DramaDramaRevolution A (AC) for once? Just for once? ._.

If the reports are true and the pads were indeed maintained inequally, then I'd hold that Konami's tournament was less fair for all involved. I know that at the UPS tournaments I've participated and spectated in, great care is taken to make sure the pads are both at peak and equal performance so that victories can't be decided by an insensitive/oversensitive arrow. Considering so many of the matches went down to the wire at KAC, I would think that should've been a priority.
So ignoring the whole thing about the rules stacking the deck in favor of Japan, Extra Exclusive was still the better tournament, in my opinion.

Extra Exclusive was great. I watched finals and there were some VERY hype moments. The Pluto Relinquish and New Decade plays were surprising as fuck. Much better than KAC.

Extra Exclusive tournament was just fun and exciting, better than KAC. Yeah, really long tournament but very enternaining!
Also all freaked out when we realized that Chris got WR on Healing-D-Vision 18, last song in the tournament.
Congrats to Chris!

where did you guys know where to look for the Extra Exclusive tournament? I tried looking at SF Evolved's Twitch to see if they were streaming it, but it seemed like they weren't. I'm also not familiar with the site, so I had a hard time navigating to see which channel was actually hosting the stream.

The link to the stream was posted on the FB event page.

took me a bit to find the link on the page. I had to click on "discussion" and scroll down a bit before I saw some random stranger's post that linked to the stream. why didn't they make the link the first clickable thing on the event's main post? now I'm pissed that I missed it. Did it start at 12p in Tokyo yesterday?

KAC is not a tournament, it's an exhibition featuring top players of the game. Ultimately it's about Konami showcasing their games to the public.
The finals ruleset for drummania was literally rock paper scissors, winner picks one song, both players play it once and the best score wins. Granted, this was mostly due to the second cab constantly misfiring but the point is that the tournament shit never mattered, and butthurt americans thinking that KAC isn't a "real tournament" are missing the point. They are fixated on shit that doesn't matter and don't look at the big picture overall. There's so much that goes on at KAC, but so many people will just look at DDR, see FEFEMZ win, get angry for some weird reason, and then not watch anything else.
---
>clearly did something this year to handicap the americans. fuck konami, at least we have the tournament afterwards
It's fine if you run a tournament afterwards, but it comes off as being mad that you didn't qualify for KAC and that your american hero didn't win because "w-well I didn't get to be in the KAC and Konami cheated us out of a win, so we'll just run our own tournament, and it'll be even better than theirs."
You can sure do that, but if that's your motivation for running a tournament, because you don't like the way Konami runs their events, then you need to rethink your priorities. Konami doesn't give a shit who wins, they showcase their rhythm games to the public every year and people play them all the time, then they watch the money roll in. You whining that they fixed exhibitions is laughable, since there's no reason they would need to, the winner doesn't matter in the long run for them. People came to KAC see Konami's games be played, and afterwards people are going to play their games, and at a tournament put together after KAC, even more people are going to play their games, and Konami is going to enjoy ever single moment of it, because no matter what the results of KAC or that tournament are, people are playing DDR, so Konami wins.

Why is "the official one is garbage" a bad reason for running EXTRA EXCLUSIVE again? God forbid someone want an actual tournament while all the top players are in the same place. Might as well, right?

It also provides extra (no pun intended) opportunities for those who couldn't qualify in KAC, even in Japanese preliminaries. Albeit, I'm just a little envious that I wasn't there to experience it, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that it was successful and everyone present had a blast. That makes me happy.
