I just tried this myself, and it does indeed work. I wonder what prompted this change (and whether it's intended!).

If I had to guess, it's because maybe Konami realized that there's now so many IIDX/SDVX machines in the US, it made sense to allow people outside Japan to get to the exclusive features more easily? If I went to R1 frequently, I'd subscribe to the basic course in a heartbeat.

Keep in mind you still can't pay for credits via Paseli at R1; they're never going to enable that for obvious legal reasons, BUT everyone can now easily get access to score tracking and customization without needing to jump through hoops!

Not gonna lie, I've been tempted to finally play Infinitas, but that $15 per month fee, and the additional paid DLC is kinda a big jump to make... >>

One interesting question comes to mind, does this change allow one to purchase stuff for Infinitas directly from the website with international credit cards? And by extension, would this allow international accounts to buy stuff?

Sound Voltex EACloud blocks logging in from US accounts (I tried that once), but the Infinitas trial doesn't care.

I remember the Infinitas TOS awhile back stating it was only intended for Japan...but I haven't been able to find the link for that lately.

Yeah, you still need to use a Japanese eAmuse account to do that stuff, and from what I can see in the page, you don't necessarily pay the amount of Paseli you need; you can pick between 300, 500, 1000, 2000, etc. Paseli in blocks, similar to how in Steam/PSN/Nintendo Eshop you have options to pay for a set balance.

I gotta remember to unlink my card from my US account and put it back to my JP one.

Excuse the delayed response.

Each of the individual courses on the e-Amusement website offers the ability to pay with PASELI or credit card, though the credit card has to be saved to the Konami ID to work (at least from what I could see). I think I'll just stick to the PASELI payment method.

The song packs being 5980 (and I don't see a credit card option there) is obnoxious though, since there's no easy value between 5000 and 10,000. The last three song packs were only around a month apart, from the looks of it.

Sup. I'm a newbie on this site, but I want to tell all of the INFINITAS players this truth: INFINITAS is going to be analyzed by reverse engineering, by an 8th grade guy named 麺です。.
He has an experience by unzipping AC IIDX's data, and he's "this" close to complete the reverse engineering on INFINITAS.
The reason that I tell this reminder like "Please clobber me! Tongue", is because I'm the guy that asked 麺です。 to do reverse engineering on IIDX INFINITAS, and I asked him to do this idiotic project to reveal the everything of IIDX INFINITAS.
I'm the criminal that "ASKED" for reverse engineering and provided the INFINITAS file, not "DO" the reverse engineering.
You may criticize me like bonfire, but I also play INFINITAS legally.
P.S. His twitter account is @417iidx , and his YouTube channel is this: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1QRboCKu5G1zb5Bvdk_68A
Ciao!

Sorry. It didn't worked out, so just ignore that post I posted yesterday.

So, what would this "reverse engineering" do that we cannot do currently?

Eh. I don't think reverse engineering is much of a crime, to be honest. It's how we have hardware emulation at all.

The reverse engineering can reveal the hidden data of IIDX INFINITAS, such as hidden songs and hidden charts. 麺です。 tried to unzip the special formatted data, which DID work at cracked AC IIDX data.
Although it didn't worked out, he did tried his best (besides he's 13 or 14 years old!) to crack the data. I hope that anyone that are experts on reverse engineering can do the reverse engineering of IIDX INFINITAS, so we can all know the truth of INFINITAS, like "why is INFINITAS still not that good to foreign IIDX players?".

Although at the Installer download screen, the reverse engineering is included as the forbidden actions to the installer.

Is there a EULA out there that doesn't have an anti-reverse engineering clause?

Also, if EULA violations hold up in court at all, at least in the US, I think they'd be civil issues, not criminal. But Japan may be a different story.

Um, but currently there are tools to get the chart data. You just won't get any "secret" stuff because the charts are added on demand to your client.

All I need is to google the format and its extracting tool, and I'm all fine.

INFINITAS has it's data encrypted, but once decrypted is standard AC data (.1/.2dx)

This just in, KONAMI tweeted this:

Looks like beatmaniaIIDX INFINITAS is getting a "next generation" upgrade, and it will be compatible with their new upcoming gaming PC --- ARESPEAR. Hopefully, this next generation upgrade will at least be on par with the AC releases in terms of presentation and detail.
