Hey everyone!

I've been itching to play DDR II (Hottest Party 5 for me aha) on my Cobalt Flux but I'm finding no information on which, if any, GC controller adapts are actually compatible, I was just wondering if anybody currently used one or had any ideas on which ones might be worth a punt?

Thanks!

Some bigger Nintendo nerd flat out told me there's currently no way to play Wii games with the GameCube controller on a Wii U. Which is sort of accurate; even if you could, the lag from an adapter would get ugly. I think it's been said all over that the official GC controller adapter only works with Smash or something.

This is the closest thing I found; kind of doubt anyone's tried it:

Yeah I was looking at and was tempted by the Mayflash but apparently there are issues with UP-DOWN and LEFT-RIGHT, typical D-pad stuff aha. I may take the plunge and see but it's kind of disappointing on Nintendo's end.

As of the time of this post, the official Gamecube Adapter only works to operate the standard Nintendo Gamecube Controller on the Wii U Game, Super Smash Bros for Wii U. It will not work on any Wii or Wii U title (even if the Wii title had Gamecube Controller compatibility when played on a generation 1 Wii system). Other controllers that are connected through Gamecube Controller ports are technically not supported when playing Super Smash Bros for Wii U. For example the Nintendo Gamecube Wavebird wireless controller is not officially supported (per the Wii U Gamecube Adapter's instruction manual).

My recommendation is either:
1. Purchase a standard Wii system. These are commonly available used in local Gamestop stores. Be sure not to get a generation 2 or Wii Mini system as those do not bear the Gamecube ports.
2. Use this site, download the Hottest Party II, DDR X Arcade, and DDR X2 Arcade simfiles for Stepmania and connect your CF pad to play that way.

On a side note:
Those with a Wii U system and want to have a GameCube controller like feel playing any games that have Wii classic controller capability should get the Fight Pad Controller (made by PDP, officially licensed by Nintendo). Available in GameStop and other stores.
