I notice that someone is providing more D‐Beginner charts for DDR AC songs.

I've been thinking: Do we really need to add them to DDR AC simfiles?

As a standard, DDR AC are known to have no D-Beginner charts. I'm fine with adding missing S-Beginner charts from CS games.

What are your thoughts on this?

GRADIUSIC CYBER Is missing it’s S-Beginner chart from DDR Universe 3 DLC UNIVERSE2 Megapack.
I don’t have a copy of the game so If anyone can retrieve the chart that would be great.

The song was made available as DLC for Universe 2 but it’s no longer available for purchase.
However It Is still available for Universe 3, the song is included in the DLC pack “UNIVERSE2 Mega Pack”.

All songs from DDR II (Wii) category are missing jackets. Also, what to do with short versions of licenses, because in Stepmania they are still count as long version songs?

Will the DDR A (BETA) category ever be privatized or filtered out of the Top User simfiles? Nearly 2/5ths of the files in that page are DDR A (BETA) simfiles and don't have anything to do with actual user-created simfiles since it's KONAMI's work, the only user-created part is just comes from transcribing charts and adding banners and backgrounds.

Perhaps a dumb question, and I'm unsure if this is the best place to ask or not, but why are some songs sorted into later mixes in the simfile database (e.g. A Stupid Barber)? If it's just because that's how DDR does it (now) does anyone know why? Is it Konami deciding to only follow first arcade appearance of some files, because home mixes aren't used in more recent games, or what?

Thanks for any information.

I think every song that has originated in a CS version and has then made it to an arcade mix is in both folders in the database. This is partly because all of these songs which have been to at least DDR X had their ratings changed when DDR X changed all the ratings. Some songs also had their charts changed when they were ported to arcade (e.g. INSERTiON Machine Gun Kelly Mix had all of it's double charts changed from DDR FESTIVAL to SuperNOVA AC, same with BALLAD FOR YOU, BAILA! BAILA! and many other CS imports)

Maybe I'm just crazy but Dancing Stage MegaMIX and Fever seem to be missing from the simfile database. I've found copies from DDRUK online, and I don't know if they are up to current standards, but I've converted the DWIs to SMs, created jackets from the BGs, and added in DDR A style genres that I deemed fitting for them (mostly Pop and Electronic).

I don't know if any of this would be useful and whether it would be worth me submitting them somewhere for use in the database, and while they should be benign in most themes, I can probably remove the genres for the database copies if need be.

Every chart in this simfile is 2 measures early. They should all start in measure 6.

All of the official arcade simfiles jackets (From 1stMIX to DDR 2014) should be updated with their HD 512x512 pixel counterparts that were used in DDR A.

I was thinking of doing this as well, and I have DDRUK packs with a bunch of missing 3-panel steps (saved in the solo beginner slot but they appear to be the threepanel steps, but I had a question on offsets.

I'm doing the usual "open the old DWI in Stepmania (5.0.12, for the record), save it, look at the .sm file. The newly-converted .sm file, like the DWI it came from, has a non-zero #OFFSET. It seems to be synced OK. The ZIV simfile is also synced OK, but has a zero offset and one fewer empty measure at the beginning.

Is this something I can assume is always true, and just add a measure of zeros to the steps I want to transfer over to the ZIV .sm file? Are there going to be weirder offsets as I plow through the files?

(Note: I actually own Extra Mix and still have a working Japanese PS2 so I can at least check the ones that are in the Extra Mix data bank for accuracy, but I wanted to get a few done before I started trying to fuss with the data bank.)

Here are ripped mp3 tracks from Dancing Stage EUROMIXes. Scrapped songs' tracks don't exist in arcade data.

Also, I transcribed Remember You S-Light DDR X version to SM format.

I've been able to rip the raw audio files for the exclusive songs from the PS1 DS EuroMIX. They just need to be converted to .ogg.

DS MegaMiX sm file updates (used z-i-v latest data as base):
- shifted notes and starting music to match today's DDR standard.
- some songs have fixed bpms and/or stops timing.
