I have several questions
I'm looking for any sort of information related to me buying a ddr x3 cabinet. I would say I'm willing to pay any price however that is dependent on the actual price I'm getting for the machine.
I'm also wanting to know the locations of any/every place in the U.S that has a ddr x3 cabinet
I also want to point out that I'm honestly pretty ignorant in the terms of how ddr machine works(The whole e-amusement thing I don't understand and also I don't understand how online and offline on the machine works)
I honestly don't know of any place where I can learn about all of these things all I know is that I've been saving up for an X3 machine and I have the money for it and I could really use some help with all of this
Thank you in advance^

Welllllllll, the only most likely way to get an X3 cab would be purchasing one online; however, the shipping would cost a fortune. You could try and find a site in which you bid for stuff through a subsidiary in japan and it gets shipped to you, so you would find an upgrade kit that way and buy an older machine. I may have a way to help you, so pM me when you can
DDR is awesome! (:

"five minute white boy challenge"
If you're pretty "ignorant" to DDR machines, I'd recommend NOT getting an X3 and maybe getting a SuperNOVA or SuperNOVA2.

Approximately nobody asked for this song to be included. Least popular decision by the Japanese since Nintendo released the Wii U.

"No."
Or a old Cabinet and upgrading to Stepmania with the DDR X3 theme. (or 2014) And adding the same exact songs and organizing it the same way just like bewares extreme.

Any reason why? I would say that the SuperNOVAs would be harder to maintain than any X due to the fact that a lot of the hard drives are now dying and Betson is no longer fixing them. You can't fix it yourself either because the hard drives are proprietary and are locked to the specific Python 2 they were originally put in.

Now, if you said 1st-EXTREME then I would definitely agree. 573s are probably the easiest to take care of.

If you meant trying to get it online, I'm pretty sure X3 supports starting in local mode. It's 2013 that started requiring e-Amuse. That's why you see a few X3s around and now no 2013s or 2014s.

"five minute white boy challenge"
I meant as in the SuperNOVAs were the last DDRs that weren't hindered too badly by lack of e-Amuse.

X and X2 were fine, although you couldn't access RDa without e-Amuse in X2. I believe Konami unlocked all songs in both near the end of their lifecycles. Did they not do this with X3?

You can always switch to local mode on X3 and X2 and it unlocks most of the songs (no Enjoy Lv unlocks)

There's a lot of sketchy information in this thread.

could you elaborate on that because I'm a little confused on why you say that

I'm mostly worried about unlocking everything
I don't want a machine where I can't unlock everything there is
also I'm starting to lean,towards a sn2 or an x2 machine
also I'm still interested in the locations of x3 machines
I mean I've been playing,my share of x2 machines however I want to try x3 it's a personal goal of mine
does anyone know where one is
or is there even any located in the US

I don't really get the whole sketchy info but I know it's possible to unlock some cabs by switching to offline mode

A little bit of both. I'll try to clarify.

Quote
I'm looking for any sort of information related to me buying a ddr x3 cabinet. I would say I'm willing to pay any price however that is dependent on the actual price I'm getting for the machine.

So how much are you willing to pay? X3 hardware is incredibly expensive so if you're serious, give a number. Otherwise it's very possible no one can help you.

Quote
I'm also wanting to know the locations of any/every place in the U.S that has a ddr x3 cabinet

There's an arcade finder on this very site. Search for X3 and you'll find every place in the US that has one.

Quote
I also want to point out that I'm honestly pretty ignorant in the terms of how ddr machine works(The whole e-amusement thing I don't understand and also I don't understand how online and offline on the machine works)

Not trying to be a downer but if you don't know anything about how a DDR machine works, buying one may be a bigger project than you anticipate. A lot of times machines don't just work right out of the box; issues will occur and when they do you're going to need to be a part of a community that knows how to fix machines. By far the most helpful site is bemaniso, but it requires an invite. Second choice would be the private dance game ownership group on Facebook, but they require machine ownership before accepting you, so there's a bit of a chicken-or-the-egg problem. Just a fair warning. I own 4 dance game machines myself and from experience they're not the easiest pieces of hardware to work with.

To sort of answer one question, eAMUSEMENT isn't available to you, so you either run in offline mode (most likely option) or you work some magic and get a private eA-replica server. The latter isn't something I can disclose how to do.

Quote
You could try and find a site in which you bid for stuff through a subsidiary in japan and it gets shipped to you, so you would find an upgrade kit that way and buy an older machine.

Finding an upgrade kit is almost completely impossible at this point. Very few people have the connections to get a legitimate kit. Most X3 kits in the US are cobbled together from other BEMANI games, and now those parts are harder and harder to find. So this isn't really an option.

Quote
If you're pretty "ignorant" to DDR machines, I'd recommend NOT getting an X3 and maybe getting a SuperNOVA or SuperNOVA2.

I'd also recommend not getting an X3 and, as someone later mentioned, getting a 573-based mix. It'll be older, but it's much easier to work with. But...

Quote
You can't fix it yourself either because the hard drives are proprietary and are locked to the specific Python 2 they were originally put in.

This is not entirely true.

Quote
Tbh I'm not even remotely sure how I would go about doing that. Ive tried downloading stepmania but I couldn't figure it out...

Again, I hate to be negative, but if you can't figure out StepMania, you probably can't figure out a full arcade cabinet. You don't want to end up with a very expensive paperweight.

Quote
You can always switch to local mode on X3 and X2 and it unlocks most of the songs (no Enjoy Lv unlocks)

Not entirely true. Offline X3 will have different phases depending on when it was last connected to official eAMUSEMENT before it was taken offline. For example, the X3 machine at Puente Hills Round 1 doesn't have PARANOiA Revolution, but the one at Lakewood Round 1 does. If you do end up buying an X3 cabinet, you'll be at the whim of whenever it was taken offline. But again, there are ways to get around not having Enjoy Level unlocks and the X3 vs. 2ndMIX songs (for example, SVGL's X3 has those, even offline).

Correct, but I've been told that the way to fix it is questionable.

Well, that's the problem in trying to help someone on a site like ZIv. Do you give the de facto "correct" answer (which isn't really correct because of all the work in the hacking space) and risk it being misleading or do you say nothing at all? I'd rather people not be misled, so I'll say this: there is absolutely a way to fix broken SN1 and SN2 hard drives. At best the method is a legal gray area.
